King Charles visits and some interesting things happen — 13 Comments

  1. yes, he came across relatively witty, must have had a pretty good speech writer,

instead of unintentionally foolish on some matters, as his stance with skydragon, and Gaza, the latter is not terribly surprising sadly, one has to pretend that the rule of law, or even freedom of speech really operate in Oceania, see the events in Gilder’s Green today, (which the dailies have soft pedaled, like voldemort, the problem cannot really be faced) the Foreign Office doesn’t dissapoint, in its venomous anti Jewish sentiment, the replacement for the grubby hack mandelson, Brian Turner, some place holder,

I am a dissapointed Anglophile, to what Ole Brittania has become, just in the last 30 years, I guess he has to keep a stiff upper limit, to deal with the pigs breakfast Starmer has made, the era of Churchill has long passed, of course he’s not viewed as an unalloyed plus, in certain places like India, because of the war,

the President in his brash unabbashed way, is a booster of Anglo Sazon culture, probably more than Charles, less relativist, not resentful over his scottish heritage,

  2. My Wife and I traveled all over the UK, by car. Mostly stayed off the M roads, took a lot be B roads. We stayed in B&B’s, ate great English Breakfast. Had some very good food in Pubs in out of the way places. Loved it. We even enjoyed London. Times have changed.
By the way the Foreign Office has always been a center of antisemitism. Upper levels of British Society were/are bred that way. It has moved down now, with all the Muslims. Shame really.
I have been rewatching, for the umpteenth time, Midsomer Murders. All that beautiful English Countryside, and village. Never going back. Getting to old to drive there, and it would not be the same without my Sandy.

  3. miguel:

Mr. London Stabby is a British “naturalized” citizen from Somalia.

    Shocked, I am. (Sarc)

He must have thought it was WW Eleven all over again, i.e., OK to kill the Jews.

  4. I was introduced to Charles on one occasion in Sao Paulo during one of those line up things.. That was during the reign of Diana, and he was simply an afterthought to the media who were following their Brazilian tour.
I spent a bit of time with the RAF pilots who shepherded him when he flew. They complimented his professionalism; and his willingness to take direction when warranted. (Unlike his Father, who took direction from no one.) I have always considered that a fair statement of his character, despite some obvious quirks.
Poor Camilla, to be photographed along side Melania. Of course, she can be secure in the knowledge that she is honestly loved. And she is the Queen of what is left of Great Britain, of course.

  5. Shirehome, I spent a week or two of each month in England just before I retired; mostly in smaller cities near Manchester. Despite a few odd habits on the part of the natives, it was a very pleasant place at the time.
During the occasional visit to London I never felt the least bit uneasy at any time during the day or night.
I am saddened by recent history.

  6. The Two Kings’ (that put a bee in some bonnets) white tie and tails attire in the picture looks like the man-dresses worn in Afghanistan.

Taming the savage Bee! Is there nothing this man can’t do? 🙂

  7. Strategically brilliant, though, for them to incinerate the ambulances before doing the stabby thing.

Was, TBH, a bit disappointed amused that the British Powers that Bee, instead of providing increased security on public transportation—conSTABulary?— opted instead to go the “ENSURE APPROPRIATE FIRST AID KIT” route in each public transport conveyance(!)

    Thoughtful, eh?!
    (Well,as they say, “BE PREPARED!”)

At this rate they should pledge—trying to keep a straight face—to place a first-aid kit at every bus stop…and street corner…

  8. My British ancestors made the right call to leave.

It seems to me that the British elites are separated from the general population even more strongly than our elites here, in great part because the elite there are still primarily hereditary, whereas our elite class is much more fluid. I would have more respect for King Charles and Prince William if they banished their Net Zero dreams and began advocacy for policies which don’t actively hurt ordinary Brits.

  9. Look, there’s the President next to a Matre’d and some frumpy 6th grade teacher.
