A very interesting book by a guy who served at Deputy Manager of a Stalin-era Soviet factory. I particularly like this quote:
“Such in the immutable law. The forceful subordination of life’s variety into a single mold will be avenged by that variety’s becoming nothing but chaos and disorder”
Perhaps this is in the category of “old man shouting at the clouds.”
But, talking with my wife at breakfast this morning, and my wife–usually not a judgmental person, more willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, and far less hard on people than I generally am—agreed that what we have experienced–in far too many of our interactions with all sorts of service people these last several years–has been far too many instances of ignorance, incompetence, inability to follow through, and/or stupidity, and that the basic level of competence, background knowledge, ability to use elementary math, common sense, and the service mentality that used to generally prevail here in the U.S., as we were growing up, has simply vanished.
Has this come about because of lazy, Leftist ideology driven, incompetent schooling, a lack of willingness to really study, or too much TV, Internet, and Cell Phones?
Or, has it perhaps been that, when basic Christian teaching was ripped out of our schools, one of the secondary or tertiary effects has been that the ideas of striving to do a good job, gaining competency though serious application and study, and creating a service mentality went with it?
Or, all of the above, or something else entirely?
Inline with my earlier comments here about feel good court orders to pay restitution, which will likely never be paid back, here is the a case of a CDC scientist who diverted a million dollars in awards of grant money, supposed to be for research into various infant illnesses, for his own use, who hid in Denmark–out of U.S. legal reach–for 15 years–and who was just recently captured when he made the mistake of flying to Germany.*
The story says that he has been ordered to pay that million dollars he stole back.
Does anybody actually believe that he will–willingly or otherwise–strive to do so?
Love his “perp walk” video, in which he hides his handcuffs under a cloth, as if that is supposed to fool us into believing that he is not in custody and under arrest.
I’ve always done some shopping and taking care of tasks with stores and service people in my area, but more so now that I’m single again.
So it was about 3 years ago that it struck me… Oh no! The millennial generation has entered the workforce and any standards for performance or excellence that one might have expected in the past is mostly gone.
This promotional advertisement below is not exactly about the same topic, but close. And funny. I don’t particularly like shopping or drudgery tasks either, so when I do them, I do them fast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbI9POXYFJk
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was confronted by a furious American-Israeli heckler as he visited a Jewish store in Brooklyn ..snip.. Mamdani was greeting customers in Eichler’s, a Judaica store in Brooklyn, when she saw the mayor and shouted: ‘Shame on you! … snip… ‘Shame on you for coming to Borough Park where my Bubbie came after the Holocaust!’ she continued.
‘My Bubbie and Zaidy came to Borough Park! You have such chutzpah coming here! Shame on you!’ she said. Bubbie and Zaidy are traditional Yiddish words for grandmother and grandfather. … snip… Benshimol, a self-described ‘Boss Momma American Israeli Zionist’, proceeded to call one of the men escorting her out of the store a ‘kapo’ – a term for a concentration camp prisoner who was forced to supervise other captives by the Nazis.
‘Are you a kapo? Are you supporting him? Do you support Israel? Do you support Israel? Do you?’ she raged.
GOP probably needs more Benshimol’ies 🙂 She continued:
Benshimol then turned her attention to the Jewish store, accusing their owners of wanting to ‘kiss ass to the hater of all Jewish people.’
‘Shame on you Eichler’s, shame on you for allowing Zohran Mamdani to come to the heart of the Jewish neighborhood in Borough Park,’ she said as she left the store. ‘They want to kiss ass to the hater of all Jewish people.’
Yeah!!! Get in their faces more…
Tucker Carlson endorsed Al Sayed
Tucker is a Muslim
Mad mooslim maroon is he.
Bitten by a demon.
Tucker Carlson on Mike Rogers: “I wouldn’t vote for Mike Rogers at gun point.”
Carlson on El-Sayed’s America-first campaign: “It’s literally Trumpian.”
Snow, I have noticed what you are saying, too. However, I also have noticed that Home Depot employees will ask me, with prompting, if I have found what I am looking for and want to help me. WM is starting this too, to some degree.
Benny Johnson tells us today’s notice that Fox News let go, but really fired Maria Bartiromo for insubordination. She wanted to cover the Chinese interference in US voting in 2020. Fox did not.
This story has legs. It raises more questions. For instance, why does Fox want to cover up the facts?
Presumably, because of liability concerns related to past or future lawsuits. OK. But which ones.
Thanks for that David, I worked in Georgia (country) for a number of years. Walked through many ruined Soviet factory shells. Your article sheds light on what it must have been like during that time. It seems that the DSA party want to bring us back to that time. So foolish.
Am still holding out hope that the GOP holds Congress in 2026 midterm. Trump will probably have to pull a rabbit from a hat to do it tho. 2028 looks like a presidential win for the Democrats—IF GOP runs JD “Bootlicker” Vance.

Vance had better start thinking faster.

But Maria shared her Fox News directive not to air her segment with the White House! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFdKg8KlBNE

GOP just can’t break ‘The White Men Only’ mold tho: Trump Tells Donors He Wants Vice President Vance to Win in 2028: ‘We Need to Elect JD’
GOP may hold Congress in mids, but I feel their ‘Tent’ is just too small for 2028…
