Roundup
(1) They’re debating the SAVE Act in the Senate. Your guess is as good as mine (maybe better) on what will ultimately happen.
(2) Don Lemon makes a ridiculous, and typically leftist, comparison and moral equivalence: the Iranian regime killing up to 30,000 protesters and the death of Good and Pretti in the US. Is he knave or fool? Both.
(3) In case you’re interested in the sort of m.o. Tucker Carlson uses to make his “points,” I think this is an excellent example He ultimately befuddles the questioner with completely disingenuous pretense. She should instead have called out his game (process) each time, rather than concentrating on his content (much of which was also false and/or purposely misleading) The clip is only three and a half minutes long, and it also demonstrates some of his favorite tricks that are lampooned by comedians and Tucker impressionists such as Ami Kozak, whose videos I’ve sometimes embedded on this blog. You even get a brief moment of the maniacal laugh. And by the way, please recall that “Zionist” is one of Carlson’s favorite epithets:
(4) Brendan O’Neill asks a question I’ve been wondering about: how is it that Joe Kent got his position in the Trump administration in the first place? My answer is that I think they were taking Carlson’s recommendation during the transition to Trump’s second term, when Carlson was still in favor and hadn’t yet gone completely over to the dark side.
I think O’Neill is wrong in that he calls the Carlson wing MAGA. They are not, although they once were – or pretended to be. For example, even before Carlson was let go by Fox, he had written private messages saying he hated Trump.
(5) On the damage the COVID lockdowns did, and still continue to do, in Britain. The US is not far behind.

#3, Tucker Carlson is a weasel.
I don’t want to be accused of misusing the word, so I asked Grok to define it’s colloquial usage so we have a basis by which we can discuss the proposition that Carlson is a weasel:
“It’s harsher than just calling someone “sneaky”—it carries a sense of moral sliminess and contempt. It’s not a light insult; people usually reserve it for someone they genuinely dislike or feel betrayed by.”
Totally correct usage.
I think I’ll start using that term! Many dems come to mind, and a few GOPs too. Thanks Brian.
“how is it that Joe Kent got his position in the Trump administration in the first place”
What’s worse he endorsed Kent in his run for Congress in the state of Washingtion over a Heidi St John a conservative woman who was way better.
My question regarding Joe Kent is how many people are there remaining in the administration who share his views? I think there is still some housecleaning that needs to be done.
Don Lemon is a knave, who relies upon his ‘blackness’ to silence all criticism. An insecure, petty little man. Too clever by half, he plays the perfect fool while telling himself that he stands alone at the top with less talented people trying to drag him down out of jealousy.
The reason Carlson refused to answer whether Israel “has a right to exist” is partly the way the question was framed.
Tucker will never agree to that premise. If he were honest he would ask, by whose authority does Israel have a right to exist. That’s the central issue. But then Tucker has quit being honest.
If someone asks whether by the authority and acceptance of the United Nations voting Israel as a member state does Israel have a right to exist, Carlson would probably say yes– though he might then go down the rabbit hole “it depends on which borders”.
Implicit in Zionism is that God has given the right to exist to Israel, in the Abrahamic Covenant. The Bible contains more than 150 references to Zion and dozens of references to God’s love of Zion. Zion is very frequently linked to God in the text — often as the place God chooses, dwells in, defends, or restores. You really can’t separate God from Zion in the Bible– both the old or new testaments.
Since Carlson holds Zionists, especially Christian Zionists in such contempt, he rejects the mere notion that God may still have a place for Zion in the future.
Lemon is both a fool and a knave but he is more knave than fool, since this is just malicious and demonic. As stupid as Lemon is – and I think it safe to say he is exceedingly stupid – he knows that the US does not kill peaceful protestors or even violent rioters on anywhere near the scale of the Mullahcracy, or else he never would have stormed the church even without law enforcement present while in a favorable area. He is a malevolent scumbag and cowardly thug who is also a fool of low intelligence, but even idiots can assess risk.
As for Carlson, I agree that is probably how Kent got in mixed with his resume. Re Brian E
Unfortunately for him, that was an answer. It means no.
Pretended to be is slowly becoming my guess.
I still see people, fairly young as well, masked up. Sometimes in public, too often driving cars alone.
I keep coming back to what Tesla said, i.e .”If you want to understand the secrets of the universe think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.”*

(4) – No true Scotsman. . .
And if having once said derogatory things about Trump means one is not MAGA, than strike Vance and Rubio too.
(5) The covid impact on the UK may have been worse than here, but it was quite bad here. neo’s link is a Daniel Hannan article which is very good.
I was reminiscing recently about that time. Someone also recently posted photos of empty outdoor areas and hiking trails because of the lockdowns.
My late wife & I were astonished, at that time, by the emptiness of hiking trails. That’s where we spent much of our time. It was rather unbelievable, because (with very rare exceptions) you are not going to get infected because someone passes you on a hiking trail. And besides, there weren’t any people on hiking trails then.
Once, while hiking a shoreline trail, some guy wearing a mask stood still in the middle of a narrow trail and dared us (not wearing masks) to pass him. There was a fresh 15 mph breeze coming off the ocean, and this idiot was worried about masking issues.
Ran across an interesting video which contended that comparatively calm, orderly, and disciplined Japanese society/culture is the way it is because it embodies a very different way of thinking and acting, which it contended could be summarized as a series of interlinked and synergizing ideas*–
* Ichigo Ichie—This moment will never happen again.
* Zenshin—Stay aware even after it’s over.
* Kaizen—Small improvements every day.
* Mushin—Stop overthinking.
* Gaman—Endure without complaining.
* Wabi-Sabi—Perfection is not the goal.
* MA—The power of empty space.
The linked video gives a more detailed explanation of each one of these concepts.

And to think I used to like both Bill Kristol and Tucker Carlson.
Tucker Carlson and the power of Hope…and Prayer—and interviewing all the right folks??
(Just askin’…)
“Palestinian Authority is preparing a Trojan Horse for Israel;
“Palestinian Authority possesses an armed force three times larger than that agreed upon in the Oslo Accords, elite units, and offensive weapons. ‘No one can say they were not warned,’ says MK Avigdor Liberman.”—
https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/424379
One might hope that the warning is a false alarm.
OTOH, if Israel’s Partners on Peace(TM) decide that such an attack is worth pursuing, they can always cry “GENOCIDE” when Israel responds.
Which is a tried and true—WELL-PROVEN—tactic.
One major thing the COVID lock downs did – and I will NEVER forgive those who ordered this – was to isolate the elderly from their families.
IMO, too many of the elderly died from loneliness than from anything else. Not being allowed any visitors and to die alone in a room with no human contact is a terrible thing to inflict an anyone.
Shame on all those in charge who did this!
Mega dittoes!
https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2026/03/tucker_s_obsession.html
I have no idea why Tucker went bonkers but maybe this explains it
“Shame on…”
OK.
But ya’ gotta admit that it was a great way to cull the population!
(Now, all those progressive, caring countries, such as our neighbor to the north and many in Western Europe have to work much, much harder, forced as they are to persuade their citizens—compassionately, to be sure—to choose to be killed for the greater good AND for those individuals’ own benefit, of course…
In retrospect, COVID was clearly the superior, more efficient methodology…)
But back to COVID and the beauty of the plan:
It made people fearful, hysterical.
Made ‘em panic.
Persuaded ‘em to be sheep-like.
Got ‘em to rat on one another.
Yessir! COVID was so…TRANSFORMATIVE!
Crisis creation par excellence!
Damaged the individual, young AND old!
Damaged child development!
Damaged education!
Damaged workers!
Damaged families!
Damaged society!
Golly…Fundamental Transformation(TM) doesn’t get much better than that!
But that’s only on the home front.
Look at the beauty of Fundamental Transformation(TM) in the international arena: one could certainly claim that Obama and “Biden” (but I repeat myself) sure got their money’s worth—a real bang for their buck, so to speak—by gifting the mullahs with all those billions upon billions of dollars, to make the world safer, more fair, more secure! A better place!
They haven’t yet finished with their perfect plan, not quite; but give them the opportunity and they’ll waste no time—together with the WEF/WTF—showing us all what perfection truly can be!
I think there is a huge effort to make the Iran war look like we were used by Israel to get involved. Shawn Ryan usually has a decent podcast but when he starts buying what Tucker is selling I think they got to Ryan somehow. I see a lot of comments about the US being used.
This is an interesting explanation why the relatively recent phenomenon of Catholics (and Episcopalians) suggesting that the Jews living in modern Israel aren’t descendants of the Jews who received the Covenant given by God to Abraham and his descendants.
I’m not a Catholic so I’m relying on Pesach Wolicki’s explanation of Augustine’s “witness theology”– that Jews had been dispersed throughout history as a witness to the broken Covenant due to their rejection of Jesus as Messiah.
This is the teaching of supersessionism.
But post Vatican II, Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis have emphasized that the Jewish people remain God’s chosen people with an irrevocable covenant. The Church does not teach that Jews are “replaced” or cursed for rejecting Christ.
So this places some Catholics in a dilemma and the answer appears to be questioning the lineage of the Abrahamic line to today’s Jews inhabiting modern Israel.
I think Paul’s teaching in Romans 9-11 is very clear about the status of Israel in God’s plan.
Paul merges Isaiah 28:16 and Isaiah 8:14 where he states about Jesus in Romans 9:33:
“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame”.
Because of the Jews’ rejection of Jesus, the message of salvation is given to the non-Jews, but God never rejected Jews as his chosen people.
These verses from Romans 10 and 11 encapsulate God’s plan for Jews and non-Jews.
Catholics Didn’t Have A Problem With Israel…UNTIL NOW!

I don’t view this blog as a particularly good place to have deep discussions about theology, Jewish or Christian or other. However, the question I have is about the “Catholics” who are now doubting that Jews who have moved to modern Israel are actually descended from the Jews who were there twenty centuries ago. Are Candace Owens, et al., people we could think of as having strong theological educations?
So far as I know, DNA studies show modern Jews are in fact members of a “tribe” with roots in antiquity.
Kate, the idea of replacement theology comes up in comments on this blog from time to time.
Yes, Pesach shouldn’t have singled out Catholics, especially since Catholics moved away from replacement theology with Vatican II to fulfillment theology.
He never calls out who he is accusing of this switch to the Khazar theory other than “influential podcasters”.
Plus the most influential podcaster questioning whether the Jews of modern Israel are genetically linked to the Hebrews of the Abrahamic covenant is Tucker who is Episcopalian.
It just struck me that his explanation why this has become the go-to argument is it completely bypasses all the theological positions–covenant/dispensationalism/replacement/fulfillment to a genetics argument– they aren’t the Jews of the Bible.
I certainly didn’t mean to single out Catholics.
I was going to suggest that the Democrats should change their party’s name to something like the “National Institute for Co-ordinated Experiments (N.I.C.E.),” a la C. S. Lewis’ novel That Hideous Strength, wherein it was an British front for sinister supernatural forces.
But looking it up I saw that the UK does have an organization called the “National Institute for Health and Care Excellence,” or NICE!
https://www.nice.org.uk/
I’m not sure, but I don’t think Tucker Carlson’s views on replacement theology or supersessionism can be imputed to Episcopalianism in general.
Tucker Carlson, when talking about his (he believes) attack by demons in his sleep, said he doesn’t trust priests or ministers of any kind.
Poor fellow.
The hyena laugh is the tell.
Would probably benefit from a good, old-fashioned exorcism.
(Either that…or a firm spanking…)

“…Care Excellence”
More likely “Care Execrableness”
Excellent article in The Telegraph (thanks for the link, Neo) about the continuing effects of those unnecessary lockdowns which started 6 years ago this month. I always tell my friends that we are living in truly awful times and a large part of that was due to people such as Fauci, Brix, and politicians such as Newsom and all the other awful Democratic Governors such as Walz, Mills, Whitmer, Murphy, Cuomo, Northam, Pritzker, Charlie Baker (a nominal Republican but a de facto Democrat) et al.
I, too, used to like Tucker Carlson and thought that his view of the world and of issues was right on target but, then, something—I don’t know what– happened (“possession” might actually be a possibility, I think), he has made a 180 degree turn, and he is now spouting all sorts of ridiculous things, as below, as he talks about how all of us in the West are “degraded”–we’ve lost our religious faith, lost our faith in ourselves, and in our culture , don’t want to have kids, etc. etc.– but how, in the Muslim world, people are “happy,” “welcoming,” and tolerant of diversity, have plenty of kids, and how Sharia law has made the Muslim world more advanced than the West .*
