  1. I agree with you, it should be worth much much more. But you know, something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay.

  2. So the museum/auction expert tells the owner who paid $150 pounds in the 1960’s that it is worth 2,000 pounds today.

He says it is made out of donkey and camel feces at the core, then they build the glass around the feces form, heat it and remove the feces.

$1.00 is too much – I’m not drinking out of that thing.

  3. The war to kill the IRGC gets more intense than ever! I’ve mentioned battleswarm blog before. Here’s a new find, by an ex-Thunderbird pilot. (I believe that’s like Top Gun status in the Air Force — please correct my if I’m wrong, the experts here.)

There is fresh and well informed video report from this morning on the three ships hit by IRGC forces, two in the Persian Gulf, one in the Straits of Hormuz, apparently.

Max Afterburner is a mil YouTuber who presents a CentCom briefing excerpt, and later mentions that there are some 600 small boats by Iran that just became instant targets for fighter jets to straif. I will add that the IRGC claims to have thousands of naval mines.

Iran Strikes Ships In Straits of Hormuz Then THIS Happened

VIDEO DESCRIPTION Today, “Iran tried to shut down the Strait of Hormuz with ship attacks and threats—then US forces unleashed the most intense strikes of the war, destroying 16 Iranian mine-layers and hammering missile sites. Breaking down the latest US-Iran war developments, airpower dominance, and what comes next in this escalating Gulf showdown.”

Namely, he expects B-52s and B1 bombers to carpet bomb parts of the Iranian coasts. He anticipates the Lamprey, by Lockheed, a submerged remotely controlled platform to debut and patrol the Iranian coast, targeting smaller floating naval mines.

He expects the mid-level IRGC to be targeted on land for elimination.

Who is Max Afterburner? A YT-er with two-thirds of a million followers?

“I’m Ryan aka ‘Max Afterburner’ I’m a former F-16 Thunderbird Pilot, F-15E Combat Fighter pilot and Commercial Airline Pilot. Join me as we dive into aviation, military tech and casual geopolitics. Did I mention I’m a pilot?”

He then lists an impressively long series of aircraft he’s flown, the last including Boeing 737 and Airbus A220.

Max closes out to mention he’s on X.com almost every day. And maintains a stand alone mil news web site, “Checkout the Max Afterburner Breaking News Website: https://www.maxafterburner.news

Max or Ryan himself is super buff! He looks like a younger version of “The Roc” Dwayn Johnson. His delivery is energetic if not fast!

  4. Re: Iran

Unless the bad guys that rule Iran – the IRGC – are liquidated by whomever, I just don’t see how Trump’s plans for Iran will work out as desired.

The IRGC will not surrender; they welcome death and they will position themselves amongst the civilian population where they will not be bombed.

Their tanks, ships, missiles, planes may all be destroyed by the USA / Israel, but that will not force the demise of the radical nut-jobs that still have their rifles.

I think this Iran conflict will last a lot longer than originally hoped.

  5. Answering Jack, “ think this Iran conflict will last a lot longer than originally hoped.” Only as long as the rebels stay disarmed. Sneakers like the CIA are thought to be on the ground to reverse just that!

    Good to hear, huxley.

For those who don’t have FNC or only interested in a good and brief roundup, this one does the trick in somewhat more than 34m

  6. I kept worrying he was going to drop it. It seems to me that such an irreplaceable object should be handled with the utmost care. It’s certainly the oldest manmade object I’ve ever seen. But if it was 1000 yrs old in 50 BC… then shouldn’t it be 3000+ yrs old, rather than 2500?

  7. @SD:Sen John Cornyn Op Ed on passing the SAVE ACT is amazing

He had a come-to-Jesus moment when he realized his re-election was imperiled. This is why we have to hold these people accountable and not just make excuses for them when they stab us in the back.

  8. I suspect this Senate bill supported by Cornyn is different than the bill the House already passed. That House bill can be passed by a simple majority in the Senate. Maybe.
A new Senate bill can be filibusterred, which can be a blue note, easy, or a talking filibuster that takes days. So a side issue is whether to totally dump the filibuster, or require a talking filibuster (a mere ruling by Thule?), or accept a blue note to stop it.

I want it passed, but it’s clear Dems and a few Reps don’t. A celebration if passed, but only then—with the expectation that some Dem judges will rule parts of it unconstitutional.

    That’s what Dem voters want.
