Shoes for neo
Don’t you think they’re perfect?
But how do you get your foot in them when the apple’s already there?
[NOTE: In case you’re not familiar with the reference, see this. See also this.]
[NOTE II: By the way, for reasons that are not completely clear (although I have my suspicions), the program won’t let me post the complete photo, which is of the entire shoe. I’ve been posting photos at this particular site and resizing them for over a decade, and every now and then I come across this problem. You can see the full shoe here.]
Perfect.
Now that it is common to see men on TV wearing brown or tan shoes with a blue suit, I would not be surprised to see someone wearing those shoes with a brown suit. To be serious, I don’t suppose that anyone who would wear those shoes in public would be caught dead in a suit.
Ees piece of pie! Remove apple, insert foot!
Oldflyer:
My son got married recently, and he looked superspiffy in a blue suit, really sharp. I noticed the brown shoes (nice shoes too, but brown, which surprised me) and someone pointed out that this was au courant, too.
It seems all the suited males in DC own brown shoes which they wear with their dark suits. For me it’s still a jarring sight. I have black shoes for the infrequent times I wear my suit.

Oldflyer – I gotta tell you…I would wear those shoes WITH a suit in a New York minute. I’d wear ’em with casual slacks. I’d wear ’em with jeans (& make my kids die of embarrassment). I’d wear ’em to bed…ok…not that….nor with shorts. I do have standards…low, but standards they are.
And I’d wear red or purple or some crazy colour socks with ’em.
Neo I love those shoes. Can you tell?
You can have the apple though. Just give me the shoes.
Congrats neo on being a MIL !!!
Possibly a Grammy in your future ?
MollyNH:
I very much hope it’s in my future!!
John Guilfoyle: Would you wear them in a boat? Would you wear them with a goat?
My first thought seeing those shoes was, have you taken up bowling?
can’t think Magritte would approve. but likely the apple prefers a shoe to the mouth of a pig.
The one thing I learned from being married. Of course they’re perfect.
StB – Oh Hell yes!
And I do appreciate the classical reference.
