The left now ♥ Tucker Carlson on Iran
Ace discusses how Tucker Carlson – who is totally against any sort of action against Iran – has now become the darling of the left (such as Ben Rhodes) on this issue.
Of course he has. I’ve noticed myself how the pro-Carlson commenters to his YouTube videos (be they bots or be they actual people) frame any US attack on Iran as evidence that Trump is Israel’s puppet, and ignore the fact that we have our own reasons for wanting regime change there.
From Ace:
… Tucker Carlson, who is not antisemitic, wants you to know that he is no coward and was not afraid to step into Israel proper …
In explaining that he’s not a coward who is afraid of Israel, he says that he asked the US to tell Israel the exact plane he was on, because this Non-Antisemitic Non-Coward really believed that Israel, which is “fighting a war with seven different countries,” was plotting to shoot his airplane out of the sky and then claim they thought it was an “Iranian Drone,” and he wanted Huckabee to tell them specifically he was on this plane so that Israel could not murder him by anti-aircraft missile and then pretend they didn’t know.
He cites the totally non-antisemitic USS Liberty trope to show that Pefidious Jews love doing that kind of thing. (He continues insisting Israel knew it was an American ship, even though the NSA has released intercepted radio transmissions showing that Israel had identified the ship as Egyptian.)
The hate-Israel group is very very big on the Liberty incident and ignores all the evidence that Israel attacked the ship by mistake and has made amends. Carlson cites the incident quite a bit, always indicating (falsely) that it’s a well-known fact that Israel knew it was a US ship. Carlson referenced this during his recent interview with Mike Huckabee, also saying that Israel is the world’s “most violent country,” as though Israel has been the aggressor in its wars against those who continually attack its citizens. (I watched much of the lengthy Huckabee interview and hope to write about it soon. But for now, suffice to say there’s a reason some people call him “Liar Tuck.”)
Ace writes, in that same post:
Tucker Carlson got sick of being called antisemitic by the perfidious Satanic Jews who drink Christian babies’ blood, and so he reached out to one of these Jewish Mind-Controllers to ask him how he could convince the Worldwide Jewish Conspiracy to stop calling him antisemitic.
This particular Perfidious Jew, Yoram Hazony, told him he could start by ending his constant claims that Jews are engaged in a constant aggression against Christians and start all the wars in the world for no reason at all except to spread the Nefarious Jew Conspiracy.
Tucker Carlson then said, “Short of that, I mean.”
Or words to that effect. Tucker did not want to stop accusing Jews of conspiring against Christians, he just wanted the Jews to stop noticing he can’t stop accusing Jews of conspiring against Christians.
[ADDENDUM:
I think people who haven’t watched Tucker in the last year probably haven’t a clue how loathsome (a good word for him) he’s become. People who do imitations of him, such as the brilliant Ami Kozak, may seem as though they’re exaggerating wildly, but it’s actually only a tiny bit if at all.
Tucker is not only loathsome, he’s a dangerous man because he trades on his previous reputation and uses it now to spread Jew-hating lies, and he does so while claiming to be a Christian and to be working for Christianity.
Candace Owens does something similar, but what she says about Jews is even worse, and her previous reputation wasn’t as good.]
[ADDENDUM II:
For those of you who are wondering “what happened to Tucker Carlson?”, I suggest you read my 3-part series on the subject, particularly the first part.

No matter how hard I try, I find it is impossible to loathe Tucker Carlson enough. With each level of loathsomeness he attains, he soon breaks through to yet another level. It is like the waves of nausea that one experiences as a bad case of food poisoning progresses until the offending microbe is finally vomited out of one’s alimentary canal. I hope Carlson’s final expulsion is not too far in the future.
Steve (Retired/recovering lawyer):
Indeed.

I remember coming here to see if you ever wrote on the Liberty because I respect your research and citations.
I remember seeing one comment claiming that the Liberty was a deliberate attack, because America was spying on Israel and relaying info to the enemies. That the mistake story was concocted to allow America to save face.
I found it amusing and as well evidenced as about any other Liberty theory. Who knows what the truth is, I just find it interesting how often the folks will constantly harp on that, and then gloss over all the deliberate attacks on America made by other countries (especially Islamic ones).
Somebody should confront Carlson with the fact that Jesus was born Jewish, lived his entire life Jewish and died Jewish. Same with all of his apostles. Peter’s big argument with the Jewish-Roman citizen Paul was essentially over whether gentiles could practice Christianity without males undergoing circumcision (ouch!) and following the Jewish holy laws.
Most likely Peter’s POV was grounded in Jesus proclaiming, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”
Geoffrey Britain,
So well said! (And not a big secret, but sadly, an inconvenient truth for so many these days!) The hatred just grows and spreads with propaganda designed to do just that. I discovered a new one last night and was horrified (somehow I missed this). Came across a Glenn Greenwald (whom I used to have great respect for and newly returned to Substack) and his “live” conversation with Guy Christensen. I’m not a Tik-Tok follower so maybe that’s why I didn’t have a clue who this kid was. His anti-Israel anti-Zionist pro-Palestinian diatribes have garnered him followers in the millions. He credits himself with “cracking” the big American evil secret of US supporting the genocidal evil Israel under all circumstances, funding them, etc. He’s about 19, and he clearly never studied history of the Middle East, never mind Palestine – homeland of the Jews for millenia – and not much older than he is. Nor does Guy apparently need to because he knows the real deal. And Glenn Greenwald (happens to be Jewish though I do not know if he is a practicing Jew) was happy to treat him like a brilliant oracle. Note: Guy also doesn’t know the actual meaning of the word genocide because in the Middle East, historically, the only attempt to (openly) commit genocide has been on the part of many Arabs, and “Palestinians” as they literally want to wipe all Jews from the Earth. That is their goal, has always been their goal and what Israel has been forced to do to defend a tiny spit of land in the desert they were given in 1948 as a homeland because it was the historical homeland of Jews which they turned into a bountiful land is existential defense. I am a lot older, but shudder at the hate and misinformation spewed by this self-congratulatory “influencer” and the willingness of so many to jump on his bandwagon. (just like Tucker, and Candace Owens, both of whom I once respected but stopped following as their hatred and lies came to light) Ugh!
Well, I was on active duty at the time, and the Liberty incident infuriated me. I do not now believe that it was Israeli policy, although I wasn’t always certain of that. On the other hand, if it were a mistake it was an inexplicable one. Not that inexplicable mistakes are so rare in time of war..
It is undeniable that Israel was once again fighting for its its very existence and may not have been confident as to who was a true friend at that point. Since I did not trust Lyndon Johnson to truthfully state the time of day, I should not hold others to a different standard.,
But it really doesn’t matter at this point. Too many pages have turned.
For Carlson to dredge it up at this time suggests that he is a fool or a charlatan. I don’t think he is a fool. Still, I will not rule out foolish charlatan.
”Candace Owens does something similar…”
I see you’ve added an addendum since I first clicked on the post. I was just about to mention that it’s not just Tucker Carlson. The Washington Post is now saying nice things about Candace Owens regarding her attacks on Charlie Kirk’s widow Erika.
How does it come to be that such loathsome people such as Tucker, Candace, and the writers at the Washington Post believe they are so righteous? How do they not notice their own loathsomeness? You would think it would be self-evident.
@Geoffrey Britain:Somebody should confront Carlson with the fact that Jesus was born Jewish, lived his entire life Jewish and died Jewish.
Christians believe so. I’m sure Carlson is aware.
@mkent:How does it come to be that such loathsome people such as Tucker, Candace, and the writers at the Washington Post believe they are so righteous?
We know how the Left operates, they have always been at war with Eastasia. And the Left is increasingly anti-Israel.
People sometimes deteriorate as they age and it’s unpleasant to watch. Ca. 2003, the two most prominent Catholic bloggers in the United States were Amy Welborn and Mark Shea. Welborn decided she’d had enough of controversy and switched to a more ruminative set of topics. (She allows comments but receives few). Mark Shea began coming apart at the seams both intellectually and emotionally and hardly has any readers left. Carlson had a vast audience compared to Shea, of course, but that won’t prevent him from losing ninety percent of it.
I saw a post suggesting that Carlson may have some sort of neurological illness. I rather doubt it. Being a believing Christian, I do not discount demonic activity in both Carlson and Owens.

csimon:
Unfortunately, Greenwald is as rabidly anti-Israel as they come.
He is also not on the right. He is an extreme libertarian who often supports leftist points of view but sometimes aligns with points of view on the right. Early in his writing career he wrote for Salon and then the Guardian.
Although born Jewish, he was raised with zero Jewish upbringing (no instruction, no Bar Mitzvah – nothing of the sort).
He also sustained a huge loss in 2023, that of his husband. I don’t know how that factors in, but it can’t have possibly helped his mood.
Oldflyer and others:
On the Liberty, note in my post that quote from Ace: “[Tucker] continues insisting Israel knew it was an American ship, even though the NSA has released intercepted radio transmissions showing that Israel had identified the ship as Egyptian.”
Here’s are more details of the story:
I never followed Carlson or Owens. Yesterday a Matt Walsh podcast played while I was driving and he was featuring Owens and played several pieces of her excoriating Erica Kirk and her family history. I can’t believe people spend time listening to such stupidity, slander and ignorance. Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard and she comes across as a shallow high schooler. It was horrible. A couple years ago I did watch an interview Carlson did with a brother and sister regarding big pharma and food production. I found their information interesting but it was the 1st time I saw him interview someone. He was obsequious and at some points weirdly laughing. What a strange man–and that was before this latest foolishness. I don’t understand their success, and especially their current popularity.
When Tucker was fired by Fox, I subscribed to his “network.” I’ve since dropped it. I may double my payments to James Lileks.
I don’t know how many of you are on social media, but it’s very disturbing to hear how many people are still taking Candace Owens seriously, especially her Charlie Kirk conspiracies. And how many will drop unsolicited antisemitic comments into posts. Prominent people on the right who have steadfastly stayed with Israel and who have generally avoided the Tucker Carlson and/or Candace Owens trap get inundated with nasty remarks.
James Lindsay is right that we must fight the “Woke Right” and the left at the same time.
Several days ago I saw a video in which Victor Davis Hanson dismantled Tucker’s ramblings as only VDH could do. He made it clear he took no joy in this because he has known and liked TC for a good while but he just couldn’t let this go unanswered. I believe a lot of people feel this way about the “loss” of TC.
BTW, speaking just for myself, I’m relieved that VDH is healthy enough to make his knowledgeable contributions to current events again!
What’s with his girly giggle? Puberty blockers?
Thanks! That was informative. I stand confirmed in my respect for your research and citations.
