Medical transition of children in Colorado
A hospital in Colorado had ended medical transitions of children – that is, it stopped giving puberty blockers and hormones to children (it never gave surgical treatment to children). But then parents of trans-identified children sued the hospital, and demanded it continue treatment. A Colorado court decided, in early July, that the hospital must provide it:
The Colorado Supreme Court ruled 5-2 on May 18 that Children’s should resume providing gender-affirming care to transgender youth, deciding in favor of transgender patients who had sued the hospital.
The state’s highest court returned the case to a lower court, saying a judge should issue an injunction requiring the hospital to resume care. That lower court judge, Denver District Judge Ericka F.E. Englert, issued the injunction Thursday, and Children’s confirmed Monday that care would resume, at least as an offering in the hospital’s array of services.
In an emailed statement, Children’s said the hospital had “reinstated medical gender-affirming care into our scope of services” — and then added that every medical doctor in the gender-affirming care clinic “has independently decided they will not prescribe or renew gender-affirming medications for patients under age 18.”
That was written nearly a month ago.
The hospital initially had suspended these services because the feds had threatened to cut off Medicaid funding, which is a huge source of the hospital’s income. After the lawsuit from the parents, the doctors are still refusing to provide the drugs because they say they are afraid of being held criminally liable.
The hospital continues to provide “mental health care” for such children. That is very appropriate; the medications are not. I’ve written extensively on that subject and am not going into it again here.

This topic is personal for me. My sister’s only grandchild is a boy, now 6’7″ and nineteen years old, who decided at 14 or so that he’d rather be a girl. He is highly intelligent but, I’m told, somewhat autistic. Since he lives in California, I fear he’s been medically changed, if not surgically. I view this as a tragedy. As Neo has written often, nothing medical or surgical is advisable until at least age 25 or 26. I would say never, but at the very least, these treatments for children are wrong.
The docs are the key. No docs willing, this dies.

Gender: masculine, feminine, refers to sex-correlated attributes (e.g. sexual orientation). Most sims are homos. All homos are trans, diverging near viability (six weeks). A minority are boys and girls confused or dissatisfied while passing through puberty. Some are transsocials in style (e.g. dress). What a drag. At least homos, unlike sims, receive gender corruption… uh, therapy without human affirmative action. Dreaming of Herr Mengele with forward-looking, sustainable benefits.

This case is part of the reason that if I were 20 today I would not go into medicine. I had a long and highly productive medical career but today docs are pawns, no longer independent, unable to exercise independent judgement. Here, nutty parents successfully sue a hospital (and its medical staff) to force delivery of unethical services. Bizzaro.

Consider the Obamacare debate. How often have we heard the mantra “evidenced based” health care?
It seems the courts of Colorado no longer believe in this mantra anymore.
Fortunately, it seems the insurance industry is not so easily gulled or guilted.
Docs afraid of criminal liability will kill it faster. Crimes against humanity. Also personal vendettas by Grandpa George or Uncle Bob on these monsters.

I remember back when the Trans issue first developed. It seemed like the Wokesters needed more victim classes to keep things fresh, and suddenly disturbed kids were getting attention from adult professionals in ways they were unable to resist to beieve they were stuck in the wrong body.
I was disgusted by the willingness to surgically alter these young humans. I see it as pure evil, but the situation developed with amazing rapidity, and the intensity of the Wokesters was hard to overcome. It has now become a major Luxury Belief.

Pretty much exactly that, at least on the political side. This is something I’m embarrassed to admit I didn’t immediately ‘get’ in the first aftermath of Obergefell. I expected the next big push to be legally enshrining polygamy as equal to monogamy.
I’m sure that is still on the long term agenda of the Left, but what I didn’t understand at that time was that Obergefell had messed up a big Democrat/lefty talking point. They needed a new issue that they could push so they could point and yell “hater! hater! hater!” at opponents to rally the social-left base. Ideally it needed to be something extreme enough that the opposition had to oppose it.
Trans ideology was perfect from that POV. It worked well…for a while.
