Trump news
Some things Trump:
(1) The Trump campaign has released an interesting document:
The Trump campaign team has released what it says is documentation of election fraud in 2020 in the swing states of Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Michigan.
A summary of the points made in the document can be found at the link. And here’s the document itself.
I haven’t read it, mostly for two reasons. The first is that I’m familiar with a great deal of it. The second is that it’s moot because none of this got very far in the courtroom and the election was settled a long time ago in the sense that Biden became president.
However, I am convinced – and was convinced even before the 2020 election – that in many states the measures in place to provide election security are broken. While that remains the case, the US is vulnerable to election fraud that will be either undetectable or unprovable, and even if fraud does not occur the very existence of that sort of suspicion of fraud is both inevitable and disruptive to the peaceful transfer of political power post-election.
(2) Julie Kelly writes on the biases inherent in having the J6 trials in DC, a bias that will be obvious in the Jack Smith prosecution of Trump.
(3) Speaking of Jack Smith, Trump’s lawyers want him held in contempt of court: “Trump claimed Smith continues to violate the stay order from Chutkan as courts determine if the former president has immunity.”
(4) Biden plans to use J6 and evil Trump as the foundation of his 2024 campaign:
Biden isn’t trying to move the votes of people who already support Trump; he is trying to scare the Americans who have yet to conclude that they can stomach voting for Trump even though they know that Biden is a disaster. …
The “democracy” pitch that Biden has chosen is filled with irony. As Biden’s proxies work feverishly to push Republicans to support Trump, attack Trump in the courts, and remove him (and Biden’s Democrat opponents) from the ballot, the president will be viciously smearing half the country and claiming to defend “democracy.”
He will defend democracy by any means necessary, including throwing his political opponents in jail, censoring their supporters, sending the FBI after anybody who criticizes him, and attacking the Supreme Court.
How many voters see through that pitch at this point? I wish I knew the answer.
See also this.
(5) And in the continuing lawfare to destroy Trump and thus save democracy from the citizens who wish to vote for him, there’s this:
New York Attorney General Letitia James is calling for a $370 million fine against former President Donald Trump and his companies and a lifetime ban on him and two of his former company executives from the real estate industry in the state.
Attorneys from James’ office requested the punishment in post-trial motions filed Friday in the Trump fraud case. They said that Trump owes $168 million of interest allegedly saved through fraud; $152 million from the sale of the Old Post Office building in Washington, D.C., the site of one of Trump’s hotels; $60 million through the transfer of the Ferry Point Golf Course contract; and $2.5 million from severance agreements for former Trump Organization chief financial officer Allen Howard Weisselberg and ex-Trump Organization controller Jeff McConney.
James also called for lifetime bans for Trump, Weisselberg and McConney from participation in the real estate industry as well as from serving as officers or directors in New York corporations or entities. The attorney general also asked for five-year bans for Trump’s eldest sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, with the same conditions.
Not only are they seeking to destroy Trump and his family, but it’s also a warning to anyone who might be tempted to work for him.
Me too. I think about it daily. In their increasing insane push to stop Trump at any and all costs, is it possible that the Left could over extend themselves? Is it possible that they could begin to look as insane to the Low Information Voter “normies” as they do to the vast majority of Conservatives (not to mention a tiny handful of honest Liberals). Not too long ago I would’ve thought it highly unlikely that such Low Info voters could ever be red pilled in such a way. Now I’m not so sure.
At a recent meal with my 93 y.o. mainstream media believing mother, the obvious topic of the new year came up and my husband unwisely commented “2024 is going to be a doozy!”
“What? What? What do you mean?” she asked. “I don’t know what you are talking about.”
So as far as she’s concerned, things are looking up: Trump is about to get his well deserved comeuppance and the economy has never been better.
On the other hand, she mentioned my sister, who is retiring. My mother said my sister had always wanted to teach after she did so, but didn’t think she would “under today’s conditions.”
It took us a minute to realize that she didn’t mean DIE regimes, but because of Desantis’ efforts to reign them in.
We really live in entirely separate universes.
My center left/D friends who post on the latest things they are doing etc…fairly normal stuff…until the subject of Trump comes up, then they turn into rabid, mouth foaming nut cases. They firmly believe the “narrative”. I don’t think they would ever vote for DeSantis or Haley, but they will make sure they vote against Trump come hell or high water. They might stay home if Trump is not the nominee.
That tells they are mentally unstable and not be allowed to vofe.
We’re done.
I am reminded of a comment that Spartacus made several years ago on Neo.
Unfortunately, I didn’t copy the link.
Meanwhile, Ken Block, whose company was hired to find fraud after the election, is making the rounds saying they didn’t find any massive fraud. Indeed, he’s denying there was any. His firm’s report, so far as I know, hasn’t been released, so we don’t know what he actually investigated and how, and a search for “massive fraud” might miss a lot of little fraud that adds up to something big. Block has a book coming out and wants to be sure it sells well.
When it comes to Letitia James, I wonder about Karma. Taking things too far is bound to boomerang on her some day.
________
The local brainwashed moonbats are having a Jan 6 Save Our Democracy rally on the town square tomorrow. Biden carried the Godforsaken town by a massive majority, so there won’t be any disturbances.
“They might stay home if Trump is not the nominee.”
The problem with that line of thought is that a much more significant percentage of Republican voters will stay home when Trump is removed from the ballot for Haley.
I read the election fraud document. I knew most of the main points already (as will anyone who has followed the election fraud issue closely) but I did learn a new detail or two. While at this point it is impossible to know what the correct election results would have been if unlawful ballots were not counted, there can be no question that the number of unlawful ballots far exceeded Biden’s 43,000 vote margin of victory in the states of Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin.
Our elections are a national embarrassment and disgrace. There is no way any objective person can have any confidence in the results of a close election in this country. Far too little has been done to remedy this situation and I only hope that Trump’s margin of victory can somehow rise above the margin of fraud.
Someday I hope that the Stupid Party will wake up to the fact that all the elected power in Washington comes from the states. They had 4 years to start getting their people into the states’ election systems. It does matter who is at the top, i.e. whoever runs the elections, but in my experience it matters more who does the actual work. Didn’t Stalin say it only mattered who counted the votes?
In an ideal system the election workers and officials would be evenly split Democrat and Republican. And no ballot farming!
No 4 – Quick Answer, and Complete Answer – NONE
Biden’s speech today was all about what a fascist dictator Trump is. Big emphasis on the January 6th “insurrection.” Homilies about democracy and the honorable character of Goerge Washington were sprinkled in as reminders that Biden believes in democracy and is a man of character. :-).
It signaled that he and his handlers believe a negative campaign aimed at Trump, the “evil wannabe dictator,” is all that’s needed. I think they’re wrong.
Biden’s failures are now very visible and the MSM can no longer cover them up. Rhetoric about democracy will not pay people’s rising bills.
Claims that Trump is only in it for himself will not block out the facts about the Biden family’s shakedowns of foreign governments. And that Trump gave his salary away to charity.
Claims that the Jan 6th violence was caused by Trump won’t keep people from knowing that the FBI had up to 200 agents provocateurs stirring up the crowd. And that San Fran Nan, wouldn’t allow the National Guard to be placed on alert, even though Trump offered it.
Claims that Trump won’t follow the law is pretty thin gruel when Biden won’t enforce our border or turns a blind eye to the violent ant-Israel protests that are now happening all over the country.
IMO, Biden’s speech was a pack of lies, misinformation, libel, and bilious homilies to “democracy.” Anyone who enjoyed it, or believed it, has no soul or brain.
The US Supreme Court has agreed to take the Colorado ballot exclusion case.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-colorado-case-2024-ballot-supreme-court/
I will contend to end of my days I had downloaded the Pa precinct voting in 2020 and saw multiple times votes subtracted off the totals on both candidates. I suspect votes were added electronically then subtracted, maybe practice until needed for sure.
I have no faith the Supreme Court will come out in favor of DJT. If it’s not a clean sweep for him would show its only a matter of time we are doomed.
Skip — re “ I have no faith the Supreme Court will come out in favor of DJT.”
On the Colorado “Insurrection” case, I do have faith that the majority will find — as so many others have that while highest federal officials are not named, the 14A specifically charges Congress to pass appropriate laws to enforce it. And since Congress did not extend penalties to the President and Vice President, and since there’s no precedent for doing so, I expect a majority will side with the operation of law (ie, Trump not either charged or prosecuted for insurrection), nor convicted, past precedent, and thus rule for Trump.
Given Roberts cowing (or Kowtowing) to WaPo imaginations and vieled threats, I cannot see the Court going beyond the rather strict and legalistic limitations already mentioned. Unless the right side of Thomas and Alito martial the rest effectively against Roberts.
Incredible post (re-post?) of a catalog of Socratic questions by “Spartacus.” It seems both accurate (I remember most of the DJT actions listed) and very powerful. At a minimum it would rock anybody suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome.
From the government Code of Federal Regulations website:
“As usually applied under State laws, the term ‘fraud or dishonesty’ encompasses such matters as larceny, theft, embezzlement, forgery, misappropriation, wrongful abstraction, wrongful conversion, willful misapplication or any other fraudulent or dishonest acts resulting in financial loss”.
As far as I know, nobody has complained to the police that the Trump organization caused them financial loss, so where’s the fraud?
J.J.,
Look again at my earlier post on this thread. Such people do not care about “Biden’s” (scare quotes because we know he’s not in charge) failures. Trump, as the personification of all evil, outweighs all the crap we are dealing with due to “Biden”. His Valley Forge speech is a perfect strategy. How far it goes over the next 10 months is to be seen, but in terms of rallying all those MotR and general D voters, it’s perfect.
Watch this interview by Megyn Kelly with Jesse Kelly:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJcJB54x53k
27 Attorney Generals have formed a coalition in support of Donald Trump’s appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
As the filing was not by secret ballots, the number appears to be a legitimate majority.
You may be right, physics guy. I have little contact with leftist or MoTR voters. What seems clear to me, is blocked out by the closed-minded.
However, auto insurance rates in Washington state just went up by 18%. Why? Too many car and catalytic converter thefts.
Homeowners insurance is increasing because inflation is driving up the price of building or repairing homes.
The price of gas is not falling. Cap and trade (WA state) along with international instability and no effort to increase production in the U.S.
Property taxes are increasing. Why? Schools, roads, and other infrastructure that the government provides all cost more.
The rate of increase in grocery prices has slowed, but groceries still cost 20-25% more than they did three years ago.
Borrowing to buy homes, autos, and other big-ticket items has slowed because of high interest rates. All due to Biden’s inflationary policies. Teh American dream of home ownership is out of reach for many.
Credit card debt, the worst kind, is at record highs. Commercial real estate in blue cities is in trouble.
Wages have not kept up with price increases.
All of these things are due to Biden policies. They affect people every day in a negative way. Let Biden run a politics of personal destruction campaign.
Trump and all Republicans need to keep talking about these high prices and what causes them. Too many people don’t connect inflation to government policies. Make that connection over and over until every voter gets it that Biden and the Democrats in Congress have created this inflation.
Keep asking if voters are better off today than they were three years ago. Keep pointing to the record of failure. Ruinous inflation, an open border, rising violent crime rates, high interest rates, illegal anti-Israel protests, a war in Europe that Biden did little to avert, the failed withdrawal from Afghanistan, the failure to meet recruiting goals for our military, and much, much more.
The GOP is not helpless to counter what Biden is doing. Practice some politics of personal destruction ourselves. Trump needs some surrogates like Mike Pompeo or Matt Whittaker to engage in a campaign of exposing the Biden family’s record of shaking down foreign countries from 2008 onward. Point out chapter and verse of the real crimes committed. It takes a willingness to get just as vicious as Biden and company are willing to be.
Well, I can dream, can’t I?
Sorry about the errors in my previous comment, my eyes aren’t working poorly this morning.
The time is coming when I’ll have to give up commenting. Just not yet.
The weird truth of US Politics is that if the Democrats ditched Biden they would improve their chances of winning the Presidential race. But at the same time if the Republicans dumped Trump they would vastly improve theirs.
If both went maybe you would see an election in substantial policy rather than arguing who is the bigger threat to Democracy. A highly divisive election will only weaken the US.
Why either party sticks with these strange old men is well beyond me. It is difficult to see swing voters getting behind either one and both are sufficiently controversial as to put off many voters.
J.J.:
I certainly hope your eyes hold up.
You are a valued commenter here! In the event that it becomes difficult, you might try some of the voice-activated systems for reading and writing online.
Biden is the same rotten shell, that Hillary was going to be in 2016, well some of the appointees were measurably worse but not by much, General Allen might have gotten the nod instead of say Austin, Mayorkas built the cages that Ocasio Cortez was pitching a fit over,
J.J. (3:38 pm), here’s hoping you can see a way ( so to speak) to work this thing through.

Neo and MJR, thanks for the encouragement. It’s greatly appreciated.
