Some good news from Georgia — 8 Comments

  1. The Georgia GOP establishment already has tried to discredit Hershel Walker. I don’t know who their preferred candidate is. In my time living in Georgia, Hershel’s name was spoken with reverence everywhere.

  2. If we had fair, free, and credible elections, this would be interesting. But we don’t.

    Forget it Jake, it’s Georgia.

Georgia’s “Election Integrity Act of 2021” doesn’t appear to do NEARLY enough to prevent ballot box stuffing. As long as those holes exist and as long as past crimes go unpunished, elections can be stolen AGAIN.

  3. I would be very surprised if he doesn’t get a lot of black votes. I don’t live in Georgia but I do live in the South, so I’m not surprised by Kate’s comments that Walker’s name is spoken with reverence everywhere. Do not underestimate the love that Southerners of all races and political views have for their football heroes. Hell, Alabama just elected an absolutely unqualified coach to the Senate. (Thanks, Mr. Trump, for trashing his more capable opponents.) But I wonder why the Georgia GOP is against him.

  4. Mac, apparently there are some domestic violence allegations from a divorce. Don’t know how seriously to take that kind of thing.

  5. Herschel comes across as a very gracious man. But does he have the chops to win an election? The few times I saw him on TV cause me to be skeptical. I look forward to seeing him on the campaign.

  6. I am happy with this news. He is well known nation wide by football fans; he had an impressive NFL career. At the very least, he will get a lot of favorable attention nationwide as he presents conservative arguments. Against his humble demeanor, it will be hard for the MSM to treat him harshly. He will encourage a lot of African-Americans to reconsider the GOP.

  7. “Herschel comes across as a very gracious man. But does he have the chops to win an election?”
    Yes, good question.
Will he fight for the common citizen or “grow in office”? Will he learn to push the pressure points in order to effectively pass legislation? Or will he only have an image crafted by an image-team?
He must be better than the current clown
