Once it emerged that the Scalise shooter was a rabid leftist, the left shifted to blaming the right (see this and this) for the “climate of hate” it had created, ignoring the fact that most political shooters in recent years have been firmly on the left.
This is an old, old story. I recall it from the Kennedy assassination, and it still goes on in connection with that event. When Oswald turned out to be a dyed-in-the-wool leftist, the culprit became the right’s “climate of hate” in Dallas.
So when someone on the left does something bad, that person is only responding to the hate-signals from the right, wafting through the air.
Shooter was big against pipelines. CAGW nutjob. But there will be no blowback against the global warming community for his beliefs. Shooter believed in the science!
The Gray Lady’s editorial on the shooting was mendacious and disgraceful, as was its shameful blaming of last year’s Orlando massacre by an Islamist on Republican Christians.

Aside from the NY Times editorial, I didn’t see a big move by the left to attribute this to the “climate of hate”. Yes, they blame Trump’s campaign rhetoric, but focusing on hate speech and actions could boomerang on them. I’ve seen much more effort at focusing on the gun control issue, and mocking the idea that good guys with guns could stop bad guys with guns.

Third, premeditated termination of human life (e.g. elective abortion) for causes other than self-defense is a human rights, not political rights, issue. Unfortunately, progressives, liberals, and libertarians, too, have resumed and normalized the quasi-religious rite of aborting human life. This gross violation of human rights will either be settled through a civil war, as was [class] diversity and redistributive change (a.k.a. “slavery”), or through a religious/moral/scientific awakening.
Does anyone actually believe in spontaneous human conception a.k.a. “viability”? Has anyone actually seen a stork delivery human babies?
