I thought that was pretty funny. One thing: during all my years in the ER, there was never a patient who said the cops beat him up who WE the staff didn’t want to beat up within about 15 minutes or so.
Example:
The cops beat me up.
Where do you hurt?
I want you to x-ray every single bone in my body.
Well, where do you hurt the worst?
I’m gonna sue their ass, and I might sue your ass too. I told you, I want you to x-ray every single bone in my motherfuckin’ body.
(and so on)
Republican cops in Republican run cultural fortresses are funny.
Not so funny when you go up against the death squads.
This was about American cops.
Thing that strikes me is that comedy is naturally individualistic, therefore in a deep way it’s conservative. Rock is making a case that we could make in a more serious tone. I don’t think they’re as funny when they pushing a leftist meme (Joan Didion, among others, noted that Leftists are a humorless, grim-arsed bunch.)

Another cutting Chris Rock routine that apparently he doesn’t perform anymore because the wrong people (read: white) like it a little too much.
Strip the funny part away and this is excellent advice.
My face actually hurts from laughing at that.
Of course, the staged beatdowns by the cops in the video aren’t nearly as funny when seen in the light of recent events.
Like the best humor usually is, Rock’s routine is grounded in truth.
