Just when you think it can’t get any worse… — 53 Comments

  1. Well I for one will keep my lips sealed until I get an Obama Phone or better EBT card. I have my integrity after all.

  2. From the link:

On Monday afternoon, the US Department of Justice appealed to civil rights groups and the general public across the country for “tips” on George Zimmerman in their pursuit of potential federal civil rights charges against the just-acquitted defendant in the Trayvon Martin killing.

Tips? As if there isn’t enough evidence already from over an investigation that has lasted over a year?

Tips? How truthful will these “tips” be?

Tips? IOW, if George Zimmerman had EVER said anything that in some way could be interpreted to have racial bias, his killing of Trayvon Martin could be interpreted as a civil rights violation. This is approaching thought crime territory.

Which reminds me of those with more knowledge of the legal system than I, who have said that the average person commits several felonies a day. A book has been written on this:Three Felonies a Day:How the Feds Target the Innocent. Which means that if the Feds want to get someone, they will. With over 70,000 of pages tax code alone- which is just PART of federal code- the Feds have plenty to choose from.

  3. Time to drag out that classic Ayn Rand quote from Atlas Shrugged:

“Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We WANT them broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against–then you’ll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We’re after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you’d better get wise to it. There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one MAKES them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted–and you create a nation of law-breakers–and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Rearden, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.”

  4. Now just imagine if the NSA was recording all communications and the DOJ could get a FISA warrant from a compliant judge from the secret FISA court, then they could put together a case. Certainly Zimmerman has done something questionable at least once in his past.

  5. The thing is, plenty of Americans have already been executed and tortured to death by Leftist agents. Zimmerman was just the case they allowed us to know about, and thus was able to defend well against.

All the others, done in secret, had no defense and did not survive to tell the tale.

  6. The ACLU should take a gun and blow out the brains of their own lawyers. Such will be the fate of all Leftist allies and member orgs one way or another.

  7. What we are seeing is analogous to when blacks take over a city government. Often they see it as their turn to take over the graft and cronyism and to punish their enemies. They often over play their power. Looking at Obama’s Cambridge police criticism and Trayvon looking like his son and Holder’s refusal to go after the New Black Panther Party thugs while looking for an excuse to go after Zimmerman, it looks to me that the president and attorney general are rooting for their team.

Going back to Truman all modern U.S. presidents have been friends of the black man, but they have been even handed in government treatment of citizens. Those days are over.

  8. “Crossing the Rubicon”.

    Rome was never the same.

If you are correct, America will never be the same. In fact, it would be over.

  9. “Oh I wouldn’t sweat it, Holder. Thanks to you, your community organizer boss, and the media, he’ll probably be murdered. Problem solved.”Ace

Unfortunately, it appears that Ace doesn’t quite get the game being played by Holder and Obama. The last thing they want is Zimmerman’s premature death. Once he’s in prison, sure but for some time to come, Zimmerman alive and on trial, once again is of far more value to the left’s orchestrated agitation of black resentment than his premature death would be. That is why they’re asking for ‘tips’, the allegations don’t have to even be plausible, much less true, they merely have to provide a minimally sufficient excuse believable to the low-information voter to bring federal charges against Zimmerman.

    Dr. Sowell is correct when he states that;

“The political perversion of the criminal-justice system began early and at the top, with the president of the United States. After the local police in Fla., found insufficient evidence to ask for Zimmerman to be prosecuted, the Obama administration sent Justice Department investigators to Sanford, Fla., and also used taxpayers’ money to finance local activists who agitated for Zimmerman to be arrested.

Political intervention did not end with the federal government. The city manager in Sanford intervened to prevent the usual police procedures from being followed.”

But when Dr. Sowell he finishes with, “this is still America – at least for now – despite politicians who try to cheapen or corrupt the law, as if this were some banana republic.” he reveals with his qualification of, “as if” that he has not yet completed his journey down the rabbit hole of leftist strategy.

Obama and Holder and their ilk are NOT ‘trying’ “to cheapen and corrupt the law” out of a failure to appreciate that we are not a banana republic due to the rule of law, no they are actively seeking the transformation of America into a banana republic. They are actively and intentionally doing all they can to replace the rule of law with the rule of men.

This is entirely Gramscian; attacking every facet of America’s cultural and institutional infrastructure.

  10. This Zimmerman trial is all part of the Obama bread and circuses strategy.

Watching CNN and MSNBC I am now convinced liberals have been driven insane by race.

They always fail to mention that the defendant had been knocked to the ground by a bigger and younger man who had just broken his nose and was beating the hell out of him.

Really a textbook self defense case.

  11. http://www.apfn.org/apfn/waco_report.htm

The Left crossed that river a long time ago. This isn’t new.

    The internet is what’s new.

The Left will continue on until the body bags will rise to the equivalent of 100 WACOs. They’ll get away with it then, they got away with it now, and they got away with it decades ago.

  12. Like many of Ace’s readers, I have now sent in a number of ridiculous ‘tips’ for the man they call Stedman.

If you want to join, I recommend my technique. Its easy:

    Take one Chuck Norris ‘fact’.

“”Chuck Norris doesn’t dial the wrong number. You answered the wrong phone.”

Remove Chuck’s name and insert George Zimmerman’s.

    Submit. Repeat.

  13. Bush lied, people died.

Obama’s “bring a gun to a knife fight”

Which one, though, is the command black shock troops take as their dogma?

  14. Headlining Yahoo right now: Clinton says future of voting law in jeopardy

Some pretty scary stuff there (text and photos):

“Unless Congress acts, you know and I know, more obstacles are on their way,” Clinton said, walking freely on stage instead of delivering her speech from a podium. “They’re going to make it difficult for poor people, elderly people, working people, minority people to be able to do what we should take for granted.”

Clinton opened her remarks by offering prayers for the family of Trayvon Martin, the Florida teenager who was killed last year, and “with every family who loves someone who is lost to violence.” She said the week’s developments brought “deep, painful heartache” to many Americans.

“No mother, no father, should ever have to fear for their child walking down a street in the United States of America,” Clinton said.

She was speaking before Delta Sigma Theta sorority, a black women’s organization.

  15. It’s not “approaching” ThoughtCrime territory, Gringo: it’s camped out all over it.

Anyone else think this could become America’s Dreyfuss affair? With the [p]Resident and the thug AG leading the lynch mob?

On Sunday morning, at 8:30, a friend of ours, a chubby, harmless white man in his late 50s, was approached by a black man as he waited at his Brooklyn bus stop. The black man walked up to him, cursed him, yelled: “You don’t belong here!!” and WHAM, punched him in the head so hard, that he laid him out flat.

Our friend was completely stunned; lying on the sidewalk, he heard the racist walk away. When the attacker was about 40 feet away, our friend heard the guy say some extra-ugly racist things, then he walked off.

When he told us about it tonight, he said he was still quite shaken, and felt like “a hurt puppy.” Even worse than the blow was the feeling of being hated by an entire stranger.

Stay safe out there, and keep your wits about you. The air in Manhattan is charged with menace; I felt it tonight. I’m being more cautious than usual about sharing sidewalk space with sketchy individuals: those with the visible chips on their shoulders.

  16. The Marxists and their assorted scum hangers-on are counting on being able to cow and intimidate all goodhearted, patriotic people. And especially the People of Pallor.

We, of course, aren’t allowed to think of ourselves as a tribe, even though everyone else is banging that drum around the clock.

I personally, though I am quite proud of my own ancestry, would prefer for Americans to think of themselves as — I dunno, AMERICANS, without any of this race-hatred. But our enemies won’t let it alone.

  17. A commenter there had a great suggestion:

    Sanford.florida@usdoj.gov

Start signing it up for spam, morons.

I say, be creative. Use the email addy to sign up for tranny dating sites, for animal sex sites, for NewsMax.

Let someone else do the spamming.

  18. Geoffrey Britain,

I’m not certain, but I think saying Obama and Holder want us to become a banana republic is racist. I’ll get back to you after I check my copy of The Racist Style Guide.

  19. Since Zimmerman had a black grandfather, mentored black teens, had a black business partner went to the aid of a balck homeless man, voted for obama, this is going to be a little tricky.

But not to worry, if they cant find a squealer who will swear he heard ZImmerman say a racist thing thirty years ago , they will go to Central Casting and hire an actor to do it. And so what. What happened to freedom of speech, anyway.

Before Obama, i would have said this could never happen here. This is illegal. This is unconstitutional but this is so Obama and Holder. Nice job boys, how do you sleep at night?

Obama and Holder are the racists. Remember when Michelle Obama siad that until her husband was elected, she was never proud of America. News Flash to the worst first lady in history, SInce your husbans was elected, I have not been proud of America

  20. This is truly frightening – very much so.

That the Obama folks can ignore the law, ignore a verdict that was done legally, and the MSM isn’t saying anything is beyond unbelievable.

    I’m with Eric on this:

“We are all George Zimmerman. If he goes down, we’re all going down.”

  21. Beverly: “We, of course, aren’t allowed to think of ourselves as a tribe, even though everyone else is banging that drum around the clock.”

If we self-segregate into a white camp versus everyone else, we lose. The race sorting is the trap they’ve set for us. It’s their game they want us to play on their terms.

Geoffrey Britain gets it: “This is entirely Gramscian; attacking every facet of America’s cultural and institutional infrastructure.”

Where you need to take your stand and rally your forces is with the American working middle class. That’s your tribe, multi-colored, if you can convince them that race is being used to divide and conquer us.

  22. This coming August 25th will be the 100th year anniversary of the conviction of the Leo Frank for the murder of 13 year old Mary Phagan in Atlanta, Georgia. Leo Frank, a Jewish factory supervisor from New York City was approximately George Zimmerman’s age at the time of the murder. Leo Frank was 31 years old when he was kidnapped and lynched by the Knights of Mary Phagan in Marietta, Georgia, on August 17, 1915.

Governor of Georgia, John M. Slaton reviewed more than 10,000 pages of documents, visited the murder scene, and examined new evidence, including studies comparing the prosecution’s chief witness against Leo Frank, Jim Conley, speech patterns to the language of evidence – murder notes. He told reporters: “some of the most powerful evidence in Frank’s behalf was not presented to the jury which found him guilty.” On June 21, 1915, Gov. Slaton commuted Frank’s sentence to life in prison.

Less than a month later on July 17th an inmate in Milledgeville State Penitentiary, a minimum security work farm, tried to kill Leo Frank, slashing his throat with butcher knife. The attacker explained that he wanted to keep the other inmates safe from mob violence, that Frank’s presence was a disgrace to the prison, and that he was sure he would be pardoned if he killed Frank

    Leo Frank was likely innocent
Jim Conley, the states most important witness against Leo Frank, was probably the actual murderer of Mary Phagan.

    .

Those Knights of Mary Phagan were:

Joseph Mackey Brown, former governor of Georgia
    Emmet Burton, police officer
Eugene Herbert Clay, former mayor of Marietta, son of Senator Alexander S. Clay
    E. P. Dobbs, mayor of Marietta at the time
William J. Frey, former Cobb County sheriff
George Hicks, Cobb County deputy sheriff
William McKinney, Cobb County deputy sheriff
Newton Augustus Morris, twice a superior court judge of the Blue Ridge Circuit
Newton Mayes Morris, in charge of the Cobb County chain gang
Fred Morris, general assemblyman who later organized Marietta’s first Boy Scout troop
    George Swanson, Cobb County sheriff
    John Augustus Benson, merchant
    D.R. Benton, Mary Phagan’s uncle
    “Yellow Jacket” Brown, electrician
Bolan Glover Brumby, manufacturer, owner of the Marietta Chair Company
Jim Brumby, garage owner who serviced the cars
    Luther Burton, coal yard operator
    George Exie Daniell, merchant
    Cicero Holton Dobbs, taxi driver
John Tucker Dorsey, who later served as the Circuit’s District attorney
    C. D. Elder, physician
Gordon Baxter Gann, lawyer, later mayor of Marietta and a state legislator
Robert A. Hill, banker who helped fund the group
    Horace Hamby, farmer
    Lawrence Haney, farmer
    Ralph Molden Manning, contractor
    L. B. Robeson, railroad freight agent who provided a car
Moultrie McKinney Sessions, lawyer and banker, part of the Marietta delegation at Governor Slaton’s clemency hearing

On November 25, 1915, months after Frank was taken from the Milledgeville prison, members of the Knights of Mary Phagan burned a gigantic cross on top of Stone Mountain, reportedly inaugurating a revival of the Ku Klux Klan. The group was led by William J. Simmons and attended by 15 charter members and a few aging survivors of the original Klan.

  23. I don’t care who my tribe is. Crushing roaches and ants… though, that’s different.

What Obama has done isn’t new. The Left has been doing such things for awhile, keeping it in the shadows and secret. Few, if anybody, knows about the Left’s non surface operations. Few, if anyone, knows the extent of their power and logistics.

Thus people are “surprised” at far how the LEft would go, how far their power allows them to go. I am not surprised in the least. This is, in fact, still child’s play to their organization and alliance.

As a rallying cry for the Alamo vis a vis Zimmerman, it can be effective. But millions of Zimmermans have already been created and crushed for the Left’s sacrificial rituals. The past cannot be changed. The Left has already created entire generations of slaves and killed numerous people to gather souls.

Such things cannot be changed by defending Zimmerman. Witness the violence and riots that target vulnerable people (seemingly avoiding the warriors and sheepdogs of the clan). An insurgency backed and aided by a counter insurgency, is a tough nut to crack, for it combines the strengths of both war styles.

  24. Democrats controlled the South using the same methods blacks are being controlled, since the skin colors are reversed. Even though political policies have changed and people in the South turned against their Democrat masters, they still feel pride as a culture and people for when they were under the Democrat party’s heel and thumb.

Propaganda is so powerful that it can lead people to worship their ancestors, even if their ancestors were little more than slaves.

Blacks can do no less. They need a tradition to feel proud of, a culture and a people to feel pride and self respect in. The Left gives that to them by providing them a common enemy: you all.

Southerners who didn’t like slavery, still fought for the right of the States to secede. Southerners who didn’t want to discriminate against blacks, had no power and were told to remain in their place or be labeled a “race traitor” or an oathbreaker against the South’s honorable customs.

Blacks will do the same. They may not like how violent their city brothers are, but they will support Jackson, provide funds, and make sure you aren’t allowed to attack the black shock troops with anything effective. It is their tribe and their people at stake.

Blacks haven’t believed in promises of Republican and American protect since Johnson killed the black middle class or when Lincoln was shot and assassinated after the US Civil War (1st).

  25. I wonder how many tips will be used to build a federal discrimination case against the jurors.

  26. Ymarsakar: “Amazing. Eric was truly right on the money when he said Mitsu (Obamacan) was Zimmerman.”

    Mitsu has internalized his subjugation.

That in itself isn’t remarkable because to be social, we all internalize some social consciousness. Accepting
the social contract means we exchange something of ourselves. But we get to choose and we’re allowed to be critical and self-critical.

Mitsu has chosen poorly. His social contract is with a sociopathic creature that will have no regret about eating him, like it is eating Zimmerman, to feed itself.

  27. The internal enemy has won. It has been a century-long campaign, and victory was assured by the failures, weaknesses, and passivity of Constitutional conservatives, always quick to give the adversary the benefit of the doubt.

I have posted here a number of times that the game is lost. I am sure some see me as defeatist, but that is expected of those that are reluctant to extrapolate, those that do not look past the next move on the chessboard, those that do not see that if they give an inch, they surrender a mile.

That is why I objected, and still do, to calling Trayvon’s death a tragedy….it plays right into the enemy’s hands, gives them the ammo to shoot back, as they now are (and to which we pathetically, feebly object). We are surprised and disappointed??

We needed long ago to fix our own thinking and become resolute. But we are too concerned with being nice, thoughtful, sensitive, and caring. No Alinsky for us; we’d rather lose the war than stoop so low–we might get dirty and have no confidence in our own washing machines to cleanse us after combat.

Now it is too late. The ballgame (World Series, 7th game) is lost, and I for one don’t care what the final score turns out to be. Lost is lost.

  28. long ago i said it was a fait accompli, as the people discussing it had not realized it was already over…

the calvary arrived years late and sat around….

  29. Alas, Don Carlos,
It does seem lost. Just a few examples…
When the new black panthers threatened voters i was looking forward to their procecution but nothing came of it. After Hicks and others testified before a committee, I was hopeful the truth about Obama and Clinton would be revealed and then nothing came of it. With the IRS scandal, I thought, this is it and then nothing came of it. And the list goes on and on… Oh, how many times I have looked forward to Obama’s impeachment and the exposure of all his lies.

And now they have another victim in hapless George Zimmerman
You are right. You have to fight Alinsky with like methods only conservatives can use the ugly truth to destroy the left as long as people want liberty and justice.
Remember who rules for radicals is dedicated to.

You need a virtuous people to hold onto a republic. People who want freedom not free stuff.
I see the left and I saw that Jeantel peson and Martin and I see Obama and Holder and Clinton and Corey and Sharpton and Jackson and Pelosi and Reid. Who can find virtue in a manure heap. I dont want to breathe the same air they have contaminated.

I apologize if this sounds harsh but look at what they have done to our homeland.

  30. Folks, you’re missing the big picture: the Left has a completely unfinancable government.

AT THIS TIME 45% of Federal spending is printed into existence.

It must be the magic ratio — Weimar Germany blew up (their currency) doing the exact same thing.

Classic Rome and China did the same thing. Neither was fighting a war. They just went down the Obama spending road. Their currencies blew up.

This free spending tempo cannot possibly last. When it ends, probably Mugabe style, the Left will be cut off 100%.

A civil war is NOT in the cards. It will be a battle of the wallet.

The SOLE reason that 0bama can press ahead is because the US Dollar is STILL being accepted — overseas. That reality can shift on a dime.

    It did for Weimar Germany.

Do not expect interest rates to rise. They NEVER do when the printing press is running flat out. (You’ll still hear no end of ‘experts’ predicting such, though.)

Expect the currency to be rejected — at first, overseas. This is already underway. Red China is no longer buying our paper — and is converting US Dollars into gold, silver, copper and such at a clip.

Red China is buying 95% of global mining output at this hour. (!) All other purchasers must be getting their gold from old stocks.

(Red China used to be the world’s largest producer of gold and silver — exporting both. That flow has reversed.)

The bulk of the damage to a hyper-inflated currency occurs EARLY IN. It’s just that the photographs look so impressive in the final collapse — so that stage is what the histories tell of.

Long before the fall of 1923, Weimar Germany had gutted its economy. The last straw was the farmers boycott. Food stopped coming in from the countryside.

Without his magic stash machine, the poltroon-in-chief will be as popular as a leper in a nudist colony.

In the meantime, he’s doing a bang-up job destroying the Democrat party. Because of their signature legislation, they are destined to go the way of the Whigs. BTW, that political party never saw it coming, either.

Another trend: journalists and attorneys are being laid off — left and left. It’s unremarked, but an entire generation of up and coming ‘talent’ is NOT up and coming. Both professions are larded with seniority rules. Consequently, lay-offs strike the college crowd.

This is not restricted to the professions. Hence, the youth unemployment rate — across the Western world — is in orbit.

Capital is being destroyed/ squandered on an unheard of scale.

    Think of it as macro-embezzlement.

  31. kit,

The Right just needs dedicated activists on par or better than the Left’s activists. Everything else will follow. Lacking sufficient activists, the Right is impotent.

    It’s really as simple that.

It’s not hopeless. Today’s winners are tomorrow’s losers. And vice versa. Even deep institutional changes are changed through the same process that wrought them.

I’ve cited this real-world example before. I draw my optimism from the Ivy League ROTC advocacy that won in 2011. It was a student-led grassroots movement. Its chief campaign was waged on Columbia’s campus.

Who made the difference? Not the conservatives among them. The Ivy ROTC advocates were led by pro-military *liberal* student activists who outplayed the campus Left at its own game.

I said the ROTC advocates won their ultimate victory in 2011, right? Here’s a Feb 2003 quote from the Columbia Spectator from the campus Left on the new upstart ROTC advocacy on campus:

Despite their strong feelings on the matter, these groups have not yet waged much organized protest against the proposal to bring back the ROTC program.

“We have better things to do with our time than undo games that were already won thirty years ago,” said Michael Cas***man, SEAS ’03 and treasurer of the Columbia Student Solidarity Network.

Today’s winners are tomorrow’s losers and vice versa. Losing political contests happens. It’s the nature of the game.

Pro-military Ivy Leaguers won back in the 2000s what was lost by pro-military Ivy Leaguers in the 1960s. The campus Left lost in the 2000s what the campus Left won in the 1960s.

If you’re losers today, just learn from the defeat, gather what you need (activists, activists, activists!), start a new political contest, and win it back.

  32. ZeroHedge:

“The following brief exchange between a congressman and Ben Bernanke pretty much wins today’s Humphrey Hawkins farce.

    Q: Are You Printing Money?
    Bernanke: Not Literally

And a follow up from the Chairman:

If the Fed were to tighten policy, the economy “would tank”

And there you have it. Everyone can go home now.”

    ====

By economy, Bernanke means the government dependent sector.

The government sustaining (taxed) sector would return to robust health.

    ====

Remember the identity: in a fiat economy, spending = taxation.

The taxes not collected in the traditional way (excise, income, tariffs…) are collected as a WEALTH TAX upon those holding their wealth in dollar denominated financial assets — including those overseas.

It’s because the Wan is able to export our taxes that America is still able to crawl ahead. Without that edge, we’d be tailing in like Greece, Spain and the rest.

Barry is bound and determined to squander that edge.

He will be the absolute end of the Black middle class.

  33. “He will be the absolute end of the Black middle class.”

End of the private sector and/or non-unionized middle class – of all stripes and colors, to be sure.

But in terms of the Black middle class it is my understanding (and I could be wrong) that a disproportionate percentage (in terms of in comparison to the ratio to the general population as a whole) of public sector employees are blacks.

You will notice that the one sector of the economy that still appears to be prospering or at least keeping their heads above water is the public sector. The one city in the US that is an absolute boom town is Wash DC, for example.

Tens of thousands of new Fed Govt jobs for the expanded and further empowered IRS, for example, in order to “administer” our healthcare and monitor our lives, will be filled by hiring practices geared towards achievinvg “diversity” objectives.

I believe that is one (of many) reasons why minorities oppose shrinking the size of the Federal Govt, and view the tea party types as racists for pushing for it….. When the Federal Dept of This or the State Dept of That, is subjected to layoffs, I think the minority affirmative action folks are impacted the most.

And note, “state” employers can include things like state run hospitals, County parks and rec maintenance depts, community colleges, and any number of other taxpayer funded institutions, all of which have strict institutional hiring protocols.

  34. blert and Eric:

I take no comfort in the occasional battle victory. The war is already lost.

The same was true of Germany when the Versailles Treaty was signed; its reparation terms were not meetable by Weimar Germany.

Sounds like ‘blert’ has read “When Money Dies” by Adam Fergusson, first published 1975, reissued 2010 and still available. Its subtitle: “The Nightmare of Deficit Spending, Devaluation and Hyperinflation in Weimar Germany.”

Fergusson is no crank. His economic history and analysis is frightening and thorough, and if you see today’s analogies, you will not sleep.

I gave a copy to my financial advisor in 2011, but it went unread by her, and she was replaced.

  35. My favorite over there:

    “Zimmerman pulled me back in”.

    Comment by Michael Corleone

  36. James…

But, those ARE the very jobs that will be lost when Barry can’t cover them with tax collections.

When Weimar Germany had to retrench it was the (previously) protected segments that were cut-off — overnight.

The national accounts were blowing up BECAUSE the central government was trying to protect various (economically parasitic) blocs.

In 1923 the largest bloc was the railroad system. Modern voters can’t wrap their heads around just how HUGE the railroad industry was only a century ago.

It did more than haul freight. It was a monster pension machine, too. (all countries, BTW)

Hence, it was a third rail of German politics. Once Britain and France took over the accounts, massive lay-offs cut the head count 60%.

At the same time, government payrolls were clipped — brutally. The ex-employees didn’t get much more than a handshake. (BTW, many of the affected employees already had side jobs — kind of like todays firemen scheduling contracting jobs on the side.)

It will come as a shocker to many college graduates: their intended careers in government will evaporate. This is already underway with lawyers.

0bamacare math makes it too expensive to hire NAMs. It even makes it too expensive to hire most of the population.

In Europe and Japan, with similar health care schemes, most college graduates have to wait through their twenties to even get a full-time — health care providing — job.

It would also HAVE to be a job close to the old homestead, too. There is, essentially, no labor mobility in Europe. If you can’t find employment in your old hometown — you’re completely out of luck. You’d have to emigrate to America to find employment.

  37. Don Carlos,

    Thanks for the recommendation.

The connection with the Zimmerman case is that if/when the economy implodes and collapses, the resilience of cut-off (formerly middle class) micro-communities will be paramount. The government seems intent, however, on gutting that resilience.

  38. The war hasn’t even begun. If it is to be ended, I have yet to see mass graves stacked to the moon. In Weimar Germany, they may have avoided a civil war, but only because they stacked bodies to the moon. Let’s not forget that part.

  39. I am not sure how to interpret Ymar’s ‘mass graves’ and Weimar Germany ‘avoided civil war’ because ‘they stacked bodies’.

    Who is ‘they’?

The US ‘war’ started a long time ago. Perhaps the ‘warriors’ knew their Gramsci and Sun Tsu, capped by Alinsky. I conclude the war is lost, has been lost. They won without stacking bodies. We incrementally surrendered, and are done.

I remember 20 yrs ago my stepfather fussing about the US current account deficit, how this could not go on. I had no answer; I was then part of the problem. I now feel shame and guilt, but it is too too late. We pissed America away in our ignorance and our passivity.

  40. Don Carlos….

With the US Dollar as International Money/ the reserve currency it is critical that we run perpetual current account deficits.

Should America start, for any reason, to run a surplus then the remainder of the planet would be driven into a dire cash thirst.

That dynamic, BTW, is what set off the American Revolution. At the end of the Seven Years/ French & Indian War the British Crown owed fantastic sums. (war bonds, aka ‘gilts’) Using mercantilist logic and a virtually closed trading bloc London ramped up taxes — to pay down the gilts. Since these import taxes and excise taxes were re-injected back into the English economy by way of cashed out gilts — it was all good.

However, PM Pitt decided that the American colonies — particularly the northern ones — needed to participate in the tax pain — which they were avoiding by trading directly with Holland. (The long time British ally was virtually duty free.) This led to the Stamp Tax, etc. Such colonial taxes LEFT THE AMERICAS as hard money… to pay down gilts held in England. Consequently, all of the colonies went into a profound cash thirst. This dire situation is almost never brought up in high school histories — nor in college texts, either.

The current account deficit is not the issue. It’s the insanely imbalanced Federal budget.

Barry has, de facto, increased taxes — in peacetime — by a record amount — whether you figure it in % or $.

He has, and is, using this flush fund to fund his cronies, voting blocs, et. al. while cutting the Democrat party off at the (funding) knees. The fools are not yet comprehending his deeper game.

Corporate America is leveraging up — to establish short positions against the dollar.

Hot Chinese money is now entering the Los Angeles real estate market in volume. This is but an echo of the Japanese move twenty-five years ago. Like the Japanese, the Chinese are paying all cash — dumping their dollars to get something real.

This is exactly what happened to Weimar Germany. The overseas currency came back in a swoosh to buy up every quality asset in sight.

We are right on track… and the domestic public STILL doesn’t see it.

  41. Technically, a war that consists of shooting women and children and putting them in mass graves, to stack to the moon “may be a war”.

But I wouldn’t call it by that word exactly. What the Left has done is indistinguishable from shooting fish in a barrel.
