The bitter clingers of Pennsylvania…
…cling bitterly to Hillary Clinton.
Random questions and observations:
I wonder whether the Democratic Party will change its proportionate primary process come 2012.
I wonder whether the Democratic Party will figure out a way to seat or to redo Florida and Michigan.
I wonder whether any of the states that currently allow crossover voters will change that rule for next time.
Here’s a post-election comment (it’s #106 on the thread, but I can’t provide a link to the comment itself) that resonated with me:
…if Obama ends up the Dem nominee it will be the first time in history that a nominee of either party will have lost his party’s primaries in CA, TX, NY, FL, OH, PA, NJ, MA, and NH. All because he won poorly-attended caucuses packed with leftist ideologues. Absurd.
And then there’s comment #112, on the same thread:
No candide [sic] has EVER lost California , Ohio, Pennysvannia [sic], Florida , Mass, New Jersey and won the white house.
It must also be noted he lost ALL of these states by DOUBLE DIGITS. Every single one.
(And I’m sure no Candide has ever done it, either, even in the best of all possible worlds.)
Neo! Once again you delight! Candide, indeed!
“The Bitter Clingers” would be a great name for a band. Hmmm.
In the realm of silly fun, and of fun discussion over beers:
Could Barack be Candide?
Aren’t there parallels? Isn’t Barack’s cynicism a symptom of a loss of faith and optimism both in humanity and in God’s plan for existence? Could commenter #112, with addition of a capital “C”, arguably have been expressing exactly what he meant?
Occasionally I enjoy the comments on Politico. The Democrats are such whiney thin-skinned bores. So full of themselves.
I love how they lash out at anyone who supports other candidates and then complain how hateful Republicans are.
I am actually waiting fo the billboards asking whether the people who organized this primary should organize your health care.
Bitter Klingons? They’re illegal aliens!
And the funny part is that the Dems want to do away with the Electoral College, so we can have exactly the same problem in general elections that they’re having now in their primary.
Gotta love that proportional representation. It’s worked great for Italy and the Weimar Republic.

GREAT idea for billboards! Would that someone dare…
Hmmm…. Seems the Dems HAVE to figure out way to “redo” FL and Michigan… How else to be taken seriously when they (as per usual — and especially when they’re not winners) charge Republicans of disenfranchising voters….? Uh oh….
Let ’em keep fighting it out, I say. 😉
“faith and optimism both in humanity and in God’s plan for existence”
These two faiths are generally mutually exclusive. And hardly a person can survive and retain his/her sanity without at least one of them.
