They seem to have Ilhan Omar’s DNA — 17 Comments

  1. I keep reading that the statute of limitations has expired on the question of fraud in her brother-marriage. Why, precisely, they’re collecting DNA is unclear, but the magistrate who signed the search warrant says the “evidence” was strong.

  2. The surprise would be if Omar had NOT done something illegal. After all, she comes from a place that, if such a thing is possible, has negative human capital. Stealing isn’t thought of as stealing, helping your clan take unfair advantage at the expense of others is considered “normal,” and following the rules is something that only chumps – or people with guns pointed at them – do.

  3. It doesn’t really matter, does it? The do-nothing party will only “investigate”, and with the likely takeover by the tolerant party in a couple of weeks, even the investigation(s) will stop

  4. My understanding is that there is no statute of limitations on immigration fraud. If you lie to gain residency or citizenship, or any kind of visa, then it is void. I think I heard Rubio mention this, too.

  5. I don’t understand the brother marriage thing. If she was able to get in the US, why wouldn’t her brother? Is he older? And I recall reading that what she did, if anything, was not marry him, but pretend to be his wife so that he could get in. I’ve also heard conflicting stories about her age. She was either 12 or 17, and maybe she was 18 but lied about her age. I think I’ll wait to hear what the investigation finds rather than try to sort all this out.

  6. I think she’s guilty of immigration fraud. And more than likely also involved in the financial fraud that was going on in Minnesota.
I would like to think that this DOJ was capable of getting her convicted. But…

  7. Oh, she married him, Jimmy, with a marriage license and certificate. Nobody claims she consummated the marriage, however. Her third child (with Hirsi) was born while she was still legally married to Elmi (the brother). But this fraud was to get Elmi in; she was already here, and (allegedly) a citizen. I don’t think she can be denaturalized for committing this fraud, but only for fraud related to her own immigration and citizenship. However, if that’s what they are investigating, maybe I’m wrong.

  8. IANAL, but there may be a statute of limitations on immigration fraud for sending you to jail but not for denaturalization.

  9. Marriage will get a green card. After that

“The 3-Year Wait Rule: Once the Green Card is approved, the immigrant spouse must hold that permanent resident status for at least three years while continuously living in a valid marriage with the citizen spouse before they can apply for naturalization”

  10. I’m 50-50 on this one.

The Feds got phones, computers, boxes of paperwork, and now DNA in surprise raids. The Omar Family has been operating with impunity for years. I rather suspect they are not as smart or careful as they think. See $30 mil net worth declaration, rapidly retracted.

If the Omars are as dirty as most of us think, I’ll bet there is incriminating information somewhere in all that data.

Besides, Tom Homan has a cute sly smile when he talks about it on Fox.

It’s got a beat. You can dance to it. 🙂

  11. Thinking about it: If they can prove Ilhan and the British “husband” are actually siblings, that means Ilhan’s father lied about his identity when applying for admission to the U.S. That would invalidate the entire American group’s claim to citizenship.

  12. Jimmy – when the group at least purporting to be a ‘family’ that included Ilhan Omar left Kenya after fleeing Somalia, the brother was settled in the UK rather than the US (I don’t recall the reason why exactly but it may have been the residence of other clan/family members in the UK). He later decided he’d prefer to be in the US so the sham marriage was used to legalize his entrance before he decided to return to UK.

It’s pretty well established concealing information which would have resulted in an adverse decision on your ability to immigrate has no SOL because we’ve deported people who turned out to be Nazis decades after their immigration and even naturalization. I think there are a number of angles being worked here. There are questions about whether the man who Omar claims is her father for the purpose of immigration was actually her father, and there is evidence the man she claims is her father was an officer in the Somalia Army under the Marxist dictatorship there which would invalidate his immigration and naturalization even if she isn’t lying about her parentage. She has claimed she was a minor when he was naturalized so her naturalization directly flows from his under US law. If his naturalization is invalid then hers is as well which is a nice bit of legal jujitsu because she’s apparently lied about her age in order to qualify for citizenship under that provision. The Feds may be leaning on her sister for information with some of the same accusations about parentage. And of course there appear to be multiple instances of financial fraud involving that fake winery she and her husband own, as well as possible involvement in the Somali-based corruption in Minnesota.

  13. It’s entirely possible probable that she’s lying about everything.

But since she is who she is, belongs to the right party and attacks and slanders ALL the right suspects, she gets a pass. Scratch that: she gets lauded and applauded.
(You know, the old TRUTH TO POWER trick racket, ad absurdum, ad nauseum. Ad thugdom.)

She’s a criminal. Everyone knows it. SHE knows everyone knows it. Everyone knows SHE knows everyone knows it.

But IT DOESN’T MATTER, not a whit. In fact, it’s all points in her favor. Ditto for the rest of her dazzling “diversity-is-our-strength” community. (Cf. Yurp’s bright shiny SUCCESSES…)

Yep, lies all the way down. NECESSARY lies, CREATIVE lies, FRUITFUL lies, given the supreme, ultimate goal of absolute destruction—followed by rebuilding—according to the deeply thought-out moral/social tenets and principles or our earnest, knitted-brow elites.

So this circus should be interesting. Maybe Trump will succeed; maybe he won’t; but no matter what happens, the hysterical haters out there, will up their gruesome game and of course blame the Constitution and the country’s legal system for this “racist outrage against humanity”….

(…And, soon to be a glorious Hollywood film—or Christopher Nolan?—perhaps even an amazing musical…!

  14. What DT and Barry said. Just another show put on by the GOP to rile everyone up with zero convictions. I’ve seen this show too many times in reruns.

  15. It’s too bad those who hate the USA, but choose to live in the USA, cannot be stripped of their US citizenship and deported.

A perfect example would be Ilhan Omar. She, her family and all her relatives should be deported.
The USA would be far better off.

  16. I keep reading that the statute of limitations has expired on the question of fraud in her brother-marriage.

Tell John Demjanjuk’s family there’s a statute of limitations.
