The suspect in the Kirk assassination is in custody — 20 Comments

  1. Almost every denizen of the left calls persons right of them “fascist”. They obviously have no clue what fascism is, how it was developed or what actual fascists want.

  2. Now, several days later, the haters on the Left are still posting disgusting “words” calling for more violence. And calling Charlie vile, disgusting things. All of this will stoke more violence, from the Left. And from the Right, which the Left will not understand since the are the “Good Guy” (reference to a certain video).
I see some pundits on the Left are calling for dialogue and “lets be friends”. Just a tad late and a lot too late.

  3. So I’ve seen the website calling out people online celebrating Kirk’s death, and the firings, and the Leftist caterwauling about how that’s not fair, we thought you opposed cancel culture.

The mention of Luigi Mangione makes me think that it’s too bad we didn’t do that to the people lionizing him, and get some of them fired. It’s just possible Kirk might still be alive, if there had been consequences for people who publicly cheer on murderers.

  4. Somebody here posted Mark Hemingway’s piece at The Federalist about the long history of leftist violence in America since the late 1960s. His last two paragraphs:

I do not want to live in a society where half the country simply uses whatever power is available to them to go after the other half. I do not believe the average Democrat voter believes that successfully engaging in good-faith debates on college campuses warrants death. But, and I am hardly alone here, I am increasingly concerned that there are forces on the left that cannot be debated, they must be made to feel pain until they stop. I pray that this can be done within the bounds of the law and the Constitution, not that the left has much cared about those restraints.

If that seems like a bleak future for American politics, well, that’s because watching one of America’s most promising young leaders die in front of our eyes is pretty damn bleak. We survived a civil war, and I pray for everyone involved in American politics that understanding and forgiveness will once again be this country’s guiding lights. But I am also reminded that there are times when vengeance is necessary and just, and millions of Americans will not stand for Kirk’s death to be in vain.

  5. Art Deco, every suspect is entitled to the presumption of innocence unless convicted, so yes, the evidence needs to be firmed up. However, this suspect, or some other, obviously committed a targeted political assassination. The idea that someone had a personal vendetta against Kirk is far-fetched.

Violent leftist social media, where this young man allegedly got his twisted ideas, need to be investigated and exposed. We don’t need a jury trial and conviction to proceed with that.

  6. I sense some irony, or rhyming of history, in the fact that Charlie Kirk was assassinated one day before Patriots Day.

Sean Hannity posted a link to donate to Charlie Kirk’s widow and children:

Kate, I believe you posted on a previous thread that people should not be fired from non-governmental companies for posting videos celebrating Kirk’s murder. I think that it should be permissible for such businesses to fire people for bad personal conduct.

  7. Don, oh, I’ve made the jump to conclusions already.

Selfy, if a person posts offensive material without identifying his employer, I think he should be left alone unless the employer finds that the ugly beliefs are carried into the workplace.

  8. So conspiracy after all.

“ Now, it appears that Robinson did not act alone in the shooting.
Governor Spencer Cox announced during an FBI Press Conference this morning that Robinson received instructions on Discord to pick up a rifle and an engraved case from a drop point.

He coordinated with others on the chat group Discord before the assassination, arranging with a so-called ?friend? to retrieve the weapon.”

  9. SHIREHOME (12:31 pm) reports, “I see some pundits on the Left are calling for dialogue and ‘lets be friends’. Just a tad late and a lot too late.”

Agreed, SHIREHOME. I shall take the liberty to quote the eminently quotable Ben Shapiro as my personal response to this cordial invitation: F### YOU.

  10. “he had already had plenty of opportunity to kill himself and didn’t. Perhaps he had thought they wouldn’t be able to trace him. Perhaps he thought, like Raskolnikov, that he had committed the perfect crime.”

Don’t forget the possibility that he may have felt today’s legal system may work in his favor regardless of evidence. (although it seems said evidence is pretty solid against him … assuming “truthiness” in the news reports. He does not have a long life to look forward to regardless)

Looks like we might want or need to extend the 48 hour rule to 72 or 96 hours?
