RIP Patrick Stewart
Actor Patrick Stewart has died at 86, “after a brief battle with Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy Body dementia.” Terrible diseases both.
Stewart had a commanding presence (he was Caption Jean-Luc Picard, after all) and a sonorous voice. His career was long and varied, although I confess it’s really only the Picard role for which I know him.
RIP.

A great serious actor who could also do comedy. He had a real sense of humor, including about himself.
I’ve never heard of anyone getting both those kinds of dementia. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.
Somewhere during “Star Trek: Next Generation” I realized Patrick Stewart was the same guy I had seen a bunch of times before. He was even in David Lynch’s “Dune” (1984).
With Stewart I had the sense of being in the presence of a Great Actor without the fuss and bother.
Marica:
It is at least possible he didn’t have both kinds. Lewy Body dementia is often mistaken for other problems, and it can cause dementia on its own.
