Freed hostage Edan Alexander is now in Israel — 5 Comments

  1. Breaking News: Honolulu Traffic Court Judge Demands Edan Alexander Be Returned To Hamas Within 24 Hours.

  2. Since when did “international law” approve of torturing captured soldiers? Other, non-military captives also reported mistreatment including physical torture.

  3. Kate, torturing (and mutilating and killing) captured soldiers (and non-soldiers) is considered legitimate “resistance”…as long as the “right” people** are doing it.

** That is, “right”, according to the accepted definition…

  4. You’re right, Barry. Humiliating some prisoners at Abu Ghraib was beyond the pale, but torture of captives from Israel is righteous. Never mind that when Israel had Hamas operatives in prison they were given medical care.

  5. I wonder if the current Hamas leadership fears their own personal death more or less than the prospect of their genocidal campaign ending after a serious search and destroy operation by the IDF.
Aside from better controls over the Rapha entry point/ border with Egypt, I remain skeptical that even if Gaza is made a “gun free zone”, that it can remain so unless such leadership is gone. [And never able to rabble rouse, etc., from Doha or wherever.]

Ben David or whomever else might know, has there been any discussion in Israel about arming/ rearming [and training non former IDF personnel] many more of the civilian population to be in a better position to resist another 10/7 type attack? Or perhaps the Israeli leadership fears their own population being so armed??
