Is Musk leaving DOGE? — 18 Comments

  1. The headline reads Is Trump Leaving DOGE? but it’s Musk who appears to be leaving DOGE next month.

  2. MSM can say whatever they want. They’re not in control of narratives any more, and their audience is increasingly progressives and elderly.

  3. That’s a shame if he is leaving, I would imagine years uncovering a decade of fraud payments out to the government minions.

  4. I would think that the department continues and that the other people will stay to continue the work. Perhaps there can be a rotating “leader” to help with talking about the results.

I wonder if Musk can come back after a while?

  5. Marisa:

Yes, I noticed that and fixed it.

It’s funny but the names “Musk” and “Trump” share the letters “m” and “u,” and they’re both very short names.

  6. …and their audience is increasingly progressives and elderly.

This seems right, and yet whatever they say seems to be the headline we’re all talking about the next day. I wish I understood better how they keep pulling that off.

  7. its a captive audience to some degree, hillary’s emails were full of politico links, and we see how it became institutionalized in governmental circles,

  8. Musk has set up the department and a process and installed some very competent people. His leaving at the end of May, if that’s the date, will not stop the process.

  9. Good point Kate. It is possible that Musk has become a distraction inhibiting the ultimate goal – maybe. Do you know who I trust to make that call? Donald J Trump. Dear lord I never would have said something like that ten years ago.

  10. I had read that as a “special employee” or some such thing, Musk is limited to 130 days. So that would take him through roughly through the end of May. I would presume he has better ways to spend his time, and will have by then put all the pieces in place so that he can comfortably move on.

  11. Politico: Musk “will be stepping back in the coming weeks from his current role.”
The end of May is ~8 weeks away, which could be construed as “in the coming weeks.”
A nothingburger. And Trump clearly stated the time frame when he appointed Musk.

  12. RE: Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts

The more we learn about Roberts and who he associates with, the more compromised he looks.

A week or so ago we learned about Roberts’ membership in the the exclusive American Inns of Court club, whose membership includes Judge Boasburg and other leftist judges.*

It might also be remembered that it was Roberts who appointed Boasburg to the FISA court, where Boasburg rubber stamped the phony FBI applications for FISA warrants directed at Trump.**

Now, it turns out that Roberts is also apparently a close friend of Norm Eisen, reportedly the chief architect of the many year’s long campaign of lawfare which has been aimed at destroying President Trump, and driving him from the political arena.***

Judges are supposed to avoid even “the appearance of impropriety” and, given this standard, Roberts’ associations call his objectivity into serious question.

What do you do with a Chief Justice whose supposed impartiality is in question ?

Does anyone in our government even have the power to remove him?

Of course, it might also be the case that those on the Left planted these stories in the hope that Roberts–often a conservative vote–might be removed or resign, giving the leftist judges who remain a better chance to prevail in various cases.

  13. Snow on Pine,
When the time comes arrest him and his co-conspirators for insurrection.
