The Common Loon is still my favorite. Its (4) main calls are the most wondrous sounds in the animal kingdom. It can dive down 250 feet and no scuba gear. Then it tries to take off in flight from a lake and you almost have to laugh as it takes up to 1 /4 mile to be airborn.
My wife and I do wildlife photogarphy in national parks – Glacier in the US and Waterton, Kootenay, Banff and Jasper in Canada as well as Canada’s Provincial parks so fun to see loons. Maybe not the most beautiful but great to listen to.
Best watched with the sound off.
And wait! What is the pink one on the title screen? It is not one of the eight.
