Nothing says fairness like appointing Letitia James — 23 Comments

  1. What can one say except…… sighhh…..

    It’s like what I saw yesterday from my leftys…a post from Occupy Democrats (!) about how courageous Thom Tillis is in his upcoming book smearing Trump. Willis is now a hero of the left for “telling the truth”.

    If the midterms go the way I think…keep your ammo dry.

  2. Hochul is a hack who has been hanging about in New York politics for 40 years. Not much there there.
    ==
    One amusing bit. Hochul was admitted to the DC Bar in 1984. She lasted about six months as a working lawyer, then landed a job as a congressional aide.
    ==
    James was admitted to the bar in 1989. Between the time she received her degree and the time she was admitted to the bar, the bar exam was administered at least three times. NB, > 90% of those admitted to the bar require just one or two attempts at their state’s bar exam. She attempted to earn a living as a legal aid lawyer for ten years, then went into electoral politics. Her law license has long since lapsed. At the time she ran for attorney-general, she hadn’t practiced law in 19 years. She ran against a black BigLaw partner for whom the state attorney-general’s office would have been a step down. He still lost. New York’s got a problem. A critical mass of its voters are trash.

  3. The reference to the Duke lacrosse mess is appropriate. The Durham prosecutor ended up being disgraced.

  4. physicsguy, Thom Tillis has been an embarrassment since he was first elected. Now it looks like we’ll get Roy Cooper, who will be only worse in the sense that he’ll vote for the Dem for Majority Leader. Cooper was a bad governor and will be a bad senator.

  5. There is a book on the Soviet Show Trials of the 50s and early 60s. Judge, prosecutor, and often the defense attorney were all in to get the defendant to confess, most often who did nothing but admit to a crime they didn’t even do or know about.
    Read it from used book store at time President Trump was being impeached.
    My point being the Leftists love these Show Trials, they haven’t changed from Soviets era.

  6. The young woman didn’t even report it to the police as a rape at first. After she discovered people were making fun of her, she decided she had been raped.

  7. Art Deco has it right: A critical mass of its (NY State-ed) voters are trash.
    I have a high school classmate, retired, on a fixed income, who will not leave the home in NY State he bought when he worked as an electrical engineer at a GE plant decades ago, despite the high taxes. He is an ardent Democrat, so we no longer talk.

  8. Kate, you point out that Cooper has been an embarrassment since 1st elected. I followed the 2016 NC gov race as well as I could from where I was posted in West Africa (I was still a NC voter at that time). I was (and still am) convinced that Cooper won on fraud committed in the Durham city and county late voting. I was born in Durham (Duke Hospital) and raised one county over, and still followed the local politics. Of all of NC’s left-run cities, Durham is the worst, and closer to DSA than center-left.

    I left NC several decades ago, and assumed I’d return upon retirement (Asheville or my old home of Orange County). But, what I found in those two places when I came back shocked me. I’m in Virginia now, but to be honest I feel a bit homeless.

  9. I agree with you, Telemachus, about the fraud in Durham and about how NC places have changed. I’m in Henderson County, south of Asheville, which I avoid. It’s nice here, and I deal with Hendersonville businesses whenever possible. There’s an excellent UNC-affliated hospital, so I can stay out of the mess Mission Hospital in Asheville has become. Outside of Asheville and Buncombe County the area is still in good shape.

  10. LOL,…. a lot of the leftys I follow are in Durham. Just now having a running argument with one about how the proposed Ad 3 to the Florida constitution is so unfair to poor folks and only benefits the rich. Never mind how many lower income people will see zero property tax if it passes. The class envy is so glaring. They really hate all rich people.

  11. My daughter was born and raised in Durham while I was on the Duke faculty. She left for only a few years as a college grad, has been back there ever since. Durham city is 34% black and government is quite corrupt. She lives in Hope Valley which is much less black–house prices are too high. I took a job in Tryon, NC, still a good place though overdeveloped.

  12. Ah, Tryon is down the hill from me, almost in SC. Durham has been hard-left for decades; Raleigh and Chapel-Hill/Carrboro follow the same pattern. As in many other states, university towns are leftist and the outlying areas are more conservative.

  13. I understand that Letitia James has already decided to charge Donald Trump with rape in the Cornell case.

  14. “Mr Bill on October 4, 2026 at 9:13 pm said:
    I understand that Letitia James has already decided to charge Donald Trump with rape in the Cornell case.”

    Aided and abetted by Patrick Clancey no doubt.

  15. I fear Charlotte is lost too.
    All D City Council–single race as well. Which does NOT reflect the racial make up of the city! Racism, right???
    Same with County Commission. All D.

    One wedge of the city pays almost all the taxes–I think over 80%.
    Most of the violent crime is in the non-tax paying area, but it’s oozing in.

    The state legislature was wise enough to attempt to pull the airport out from City ownership before they could run that into the ground with the inevitable fraud and grift that seems baked in to everything Ds touch.
    A judge ruled against the legislation.
    So far–it’s still functional.

  16. Breaking news !!!!

    Letitia James – thru the grand jury process – has indicted Trump for the murder of Abraham Lincoln.

    James produced the gun that killed Lincoln and it was covered with DJT’s fingerprints, and she also produced an X-Ray of Trump’s left leg that showed a healed broken leg.
    She is coordinating with Mayor Mamdani and Hochul (the soon to be re-elected governor of NY State) to arrange the arrest of Trump.

    Letitia James thanked the support she received from Roland Freisler and Andrey Vyshinsky.
