  1. Very athletic. But, dance like this really does nothing for me. Glad you like it very much.

  2. Having competed in couples dancing at The World Championship level, I’ve never gotten the hang of modern dance where single men or women writhe on floor, jump and make funny gestures. Very popular on shows like “So You Think You Can Dance” and God bless them if they like it.

    Must be an acquired taste.

This is Jack and Jill West Coast Swing and they are not partners and didn’t pick the song – choreography on fly

  3. To those of you who don’t like the video – did you watch the second half? It only really gets started about 30 seconds into it. It gives a magical illusion of flying, when seen in person.

  4. So the dance and strobe lights had to be coordinated to give the flying illusion. Or more likely the dance was choreographed to the music, then the lights were timed off that.

  5. “I’ve never gotten the hang of modern dance where single men or women writhe on floor, jump and make funny gestures.” John Galt III

We go to our granddaughter’s ballet/tap recital every year but of course all the genre of dance are performed. The young girls/teens that are writhing on the floor, usually performed to distressing music is very unpleasant for our families. It is very sexualizing of the young and inappropriate. Performed by adults, for adults is one thing–raising the young and presenting it in a forum where parents and grands are there to watch something beautiful and wholesome is completely another.

  6. FOAF:

That sounds like how it was probably done to get the visual effect, with a warning to the dancer when to close his eyes …..

  7. Tough room tonight, Neo. I loved it, and the films you present have brought this philistine an appreciation of dance for the first time. Many thanks, be well soon.

  8. I finally got to watch this, today
It was wonderful!! I enjoyed several repeated views!
I am wondering if the variation in lighting that people experience on the many devices and platforms are a big reason why we have such a wide range of opinions on it.
