And then there’s Sunday’s election in Berlin in which the Left Party got a plurality of the votes. The party’s campaign modeled itself after that of New York’s Mayor Mamdani. Fancy that [emphasis mine]:
In Sunday’s state election, the Left Party (Die Linke), the successor to the East German Communist Party, won first place with 26 percent of the vote. The conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU) trailed in second at 19 percent, followed closely by the AfD at 16 percent.
This came as the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) extended its winning streak in regional elections, taking first place in the eastern state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, two weeks after winning in Saxony-Anhalt.
The Left Party sought its inspiration from Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral campaign in New York and fielded a Turkish-origin candidate, Elif Eralp. Ahead of the election, Germany’s DW TV observed that the “party wants to replicate the ‘miracle of New York,’ where the socialist Democrat Zohran Mamdani was elected mayor despite significant opposition.”
“If a left-wing candidate can win in New York, then there’s no reason it can’t happen in Berlin,” Eralp hoped.
Berlin has a large and growing Muslim population that supports the party 51%. Here’s a description of the victory celebration – the usual incoherent and contradictory blend of red and green causes:

I know many here won’t agree , but I see AfD being Germany’s only hope to escape Islamification, or, de minimis, tolerance for Islam the Awful. First Berlin, then D.C.

Interestingly, “link” – “left” in German and Dutch also means, “dangerous, suspect.”
The Latin word for “left” is “sinister.” I was taught this connection is due to the Romans being distrustful of left handed people and it filtering down to the Barbarians during the Roman conquest. And, while “left” doesn’t carry that connotation in English, “right” is synonymous with “correct.”

* Young Muslims are drifting quietly away from Islam. (Not loudly for obvious reasons.)
* Their tribal, misogynist, supremacist ideology excludes much talent from their economies.
* Muslim countries are suffering serious brain drain of their professionals to the West.
* Muslim countries in the Middle East are tapping out their water aquifers and are starting to face real water shortages.
* Muslim countries rely overwhelmingly on Western expertise to build and maintain their modern technologies.
I’d much rather be playing our hand than that of Muslims.

I am sure you know this, too, but we do need to be cautious about believing our Western mastery of tech somehow gives us an edge. Middle Easterners seem to have been very good at copying what they found during their conquests, such as Indian zero or other maths, plus modern weaponry, hacking, medical care for their leadership, etc.
I suppose their core weakness is thinking the world is a zero sum environment, so they gain when someone else loses. They have been traders and raiders for forever, but they seem to still maintain the leftist attitude of oppressors and oppressed, vs. Judeo-Christian adoption of enhanced trust and the free market win-win approaches derived from such trust.

Muslims are just buying tech and its specialists as necessary.
I stand that our tech does give us an edge. A substantial edge.

I always like to point out that there has never been a country called palestine, its an imaginary country like wakanda. I have no idea how you free an imaginary country.
Voters of the west will cooperate in their own destruction. Since the west does not have any sort of recognizable culture Islam will fill the gap. Its always culture.
Politicians and voters recreate the times when the ottomans rolled over the west. Europe was never really able to stick that cooperation thing so Islam picked them off one by one.
Now its the same thing. We refuse to see the people that want to destroy us or actively cooperate with them. The US and Germany refuse to recognize they are in the same fight. For they’re existence. Germany and Australia do not recognize they’re is the same war. The west does not even recognize we are in a war.
I don’t intend to come off like an arrogant, smart ass, know it all, but the elections in Berlin just demonstrate – yet again – that voters can be incredibly stupid people; just like we saw in the mayoral election in NYC and Seattle (both winners never in their adult life having held a real job before becoming mayor).
IIRC, East Germany had a communist govt for about 45 years, and over that time period it provided a perfect example of a how a communist nation provided for its citizens vs a “free” nation – West Germany – with a parliamentary system (e.g., representative govt) and more or less capitalist economic system.
What was interesting about this was that the populations were basically the same, so one can not blame race or gender or cultural differences to explain the wide differences in East vs West living standards after 45 years.
Apparently, to the voters in Berlin the historical experiences of East vs West Germany mean nothing. The economic disaster that was E.Germany is no significance .
This is yet another example of how voters can vote for a national suicide; no need to wait for a military invasion to destroy one’s nation. All can be done peacefully (at least initially) through the voting process.
And by the way, any political party in Europe that is not socialist is identified as “right wing.” No surprise about that; here in the USA the media is simply the propaganda arm of the demonkrat pary.
Maybe I am stretching things way too far, but IMHO the political situation here in the USA today is rapidly approaching that which existed here in the late 1850’s.
Not sure you’re taking into account the huge migrant populations of both Sweden and Berlin.

Water: Like Israel they have built desalination plants – they are fine with the exception of Iran that has not built enough of them as they made missiles instead
