  1. The technique used to get a randomized control group for the cellphone and fertility rate study, could easily be used for the safety and effectiveness of the COVID vaccine over the last four years. If this has already been done for the US population I have not been able to find it by casual searching, though searching a database for scientific publications might turn it up.

  2. Belfast near beheading:

The UK is headed for a Northern Ireland type of Civil War – just a matter of time. The native Brits are very slow to change their behaviour but eventually they will because they will see no other way out.

The entire UK police force is 100% Woke. Their various guidelines are online and they tell police to treat all white Brits as perps and everyone else as victims. There are also lists of endless DEI personnel in each local and regional police department and they are all Hard Left. When your own police are against you, civil war is the ONLY response and way out.

Not my opinion but Richard Kemp’s – a retired British Army colonel who is NOT woke.

Watch his videos on Youtube if you like. My daughter, her husband and my grandchildren live in London so I get an earful. Not good at all.

  3. (2) I heard that a single address in LA’s skid row was “well represented” in the LA mayor’s primary. I’m not sure how many ballots were sent to this address.

    Co-Pilot says:
According to a June 2026 report, nearly 1,200 people registered to vote at a homeless shelter on Skid Row — a facility with only 132 beds — and 185 people registered at a homeless drop-in center with no beds (Yahoo).

  4. It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late
With long arrears to make good,
When the English began to hate.

    They were not easily moved,
    They were icy-willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the English began to hate.

Their voices were even and low,
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show,
When the English began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd,
It was not taught by the State.
    No man spoke it aloud,
When the English began to hate.

    It was not suddenly bred,
    It will not swiftly abate,
    Through the chill years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the English began to hate.

  5. Seems to be some confusion about where Belfast is located and who lives there.

Used to be in the news quite a lot, and almost all of us old enough to remember.

  6. We were supposed to be relieved when Belfast police assured the public there was no sign of “terrorism” in this event. So far I haven’t seen anything about the victim and what, if not “terrorism,” this manic event was about.

  7. @Tommy Jay:I heard that a single address in LA’s skid row was “well represented” in the LA mayor’s primary. I’m not sure how many ballots were sent to this address.

Lots of homeless use as an address any shelter they have stayed in or they use general delivery. They may not even know which one they are using, and may not be using the same one every time, because whenever they need something from the government some facilitator paid by the rest of us fills out their paperwork for them and that becomes their address on file.

It’s unlikely that anyone bothered to actually see to it that homeless people using general delivery or shelter addresses actually got their own ballots.

  8. Diversity (e.g. racism) in Belfast. Probably.

Planned personhood (PP) is a human rite performed to relieve a “burden” for social, clinical, criminal, political, and climate progress.

    You’re come a long way, baby. #HateLovesAbortion

  9. An attempted beheading in 2026? Diversity is not our strength.

    The UK is finished.

  10. What do Karmelo Anthony, the Belfast beheader and the Bronx assassin have in common? One can only speculate. There is nothing to be gleaned from observation, right? And the fact that the myriad of apologists in the press and democrat party have told us there is no common thread to be found in such events must be proof positive. So we are left to wonder, endlessly.

  11. Since we have been assured that only the insane would question California’s voting laws, perhaps heavily red states should adopt them.

  12. Their paper, published in the National Bureau of Economic Research, found that the iPhone caused as much as half of the fertility decline between 2007 and 2011.

    It did no such thing.
It found a correlation. This type of “research” cannot find a cause.
It’s quite simple to hypothesize reasons that an early adopter of IPhone would be less interested in becoming a parent. Perhaps the iPhone and associated plans were more expensive, leaving less money available to start a family. Perhaps the iOS had better/easier to access homosexual community content. Perhaps early adopters are nerdier and socially less active than average (no perhaps about this one, really).

    Gell-Mann lives. Thrives, even.

  13. John Galt III–

A few weeks ago I wrote here of the evaluation of the prospects for Civil War in the UK by David Betz, Professor of Modern Warfare at King’s College, London, and his considered opinion—based on several well known criteria in the literature, and on his personal observations–that Civil War was coming closer and closer—was increasingly inevitable, and his guess that the first outbreak of this Civil War might be in Ireland.*

  14. We have a problem among so-called minorities (including Muslims):

Any perceived “assault” (I put that in quotes because that words includes, for purposes of my point, physical and emotional attack), no matter how slight, justifies an extreme response, including mayhem and murder.

  15. Mr Cook please note this was in Belfast, i.e. Northern Ireland. Although part of the UK those folks are Irish through and through. They are Not slow to anger, and their basic rule is don’t get mad, get even. As for the use of a Hurling/Hurley stick picture a cricket bat and a field hockey stick having a baby that was then given steroids. Applied to the chest it would crack ribs, applied to the extremities, it could break arms or legs. Applied to the head or neck, it could easily be as lethal as the knife the attacker used. I suspect the hurling stick wielder pulled his blows as he knew who the constabulary would favor.

  16. Not sure why there’s any surprise, since Europe (or much of it), including the UK, has decided to commit national/cultural suicide.
    (For all the best reasons…)

Thus, constant crises are fomented as a matter of policy—remember “Biden”?—and rape, violence and murder (as long as they’re perpetrated BY the “right” people AGAINST the “right” people) are officially encouraged.

So, once again, why the surprise…?

+ Related—the next time Emanuel Macron pontificates for or against this, that or the other…keep in mind that…

  17. Interestingly, Kipling’s poem, quoted above, proved quite un-prophetic: promptly following World War I, the English decided that the whole thing had been pointless, that the guilty parties were the generals and political leaders on both sides, and that appeasement of Germany in the future was the best course.

  18. OTOH, they pretty much woke up, rather quickly, albeit—if a bit belatedly—by early September, 1939. (Though behind the scenes, new military technology such as the Supermarine Spitfire was in its design stage by the early 30s and in production by the middle-end of the decade.)

Moreover, fortunately—yes!—Dunkirk afforded them much-needed redemption and the opportunity to regroup. (It could easily instead have been an utter debacle from which no recovery would have been possible….)

  19. @ Barry M: “… unless it confronts the failure of multiculturalism head-on”…”
But at this state and stage, just what policy can you implement (even if you want to or were persuaded to)? Remove 10-20% of your non-European population? Even those who were born in Europe but lived in less civilized enclaves?
Give them a subsidy to go live in some other country?
Drastically change the laws and the courts and the police (plus perhaps the military) to achieve a solid base of resistance to their counter resistance?

Trying to change the culture via strong language about the nonsense and failure of multiculturalism, DEI, woke, post – modernism, and Marxist derivatives?
Find a way to align their economic maintenance or improvement with adhering to these “new” ideas and policies and pronouncements?

I am afraid maybe Hobbs would have the only useful answer. Create a Dictator in the mold of Cincinnatus for two years? Extend his term as needed?
Tell the EU to go back to being just a trade organization and forget the wider “federation” and “governance”? Only spit ball’n here.

  20. The current policy will have to be stopped.

The next step will have to be ILLIBERAL in pursuing the goal of ending the EXISTENTIAL threat to the host countries from within…

…keeping in mind that the existential threat to the host countries from within is INTENTIONAL policy on the part of Europe’s political and cultural elites, whose goal is to erode those countries’ culture and national identity in favor of over-arching, centralized, globalist control.

  21. Speaking of “ILLIBERAL”, the enemy is inside the gates and deeply embedded, such that the country will have to decide whether to fight it tooth and nail or to fold…and in so doing essentially collapse (cf. Europe).

Should be an easy decision; but in these days of “Perversity is Our Strength,” when the Orwellian stench is widespread and becoming ever more toxic, NOTHING can be taken for granted.

See, for example, the following declaration of war (under the guise of the fight for human rights, for liberty and for freedom):

“NSJP ‘Position Paper’ is a declaration of war against Higher Education”—

  22. Looking at some British commentators today, it seems to me that they are viewing and talking about the incipient uprising in Belfast in exactly the wrong way, as if this were just an isolated incident, caused by a few young hooligans, which will soon settle down, as opposed to what I actually think it may be, and that is, perhaps the very first incidents in what may be the beginning of the Civil War, kicking off in Ireland, as predicted by Professor of War, Dr. David Betz.

The UK has rightly been rightly diagnosed as a “powder keg,” and the accumulating series of these murderous attacks by “immigrants”, and the lack of strong or, indeed, of any real government action against these highly coddled “immigrants,” and, instead, strong government actions against any British citizen who complains about them, may be about to detonate that powder keg.

On a related note, the British Defense Secretary just resigned today, citing the Starmer government’s unwillingness to do what needs to be done to defend the country, this coupled with a news story saying that the government is apparently deciding to scrap plans to build new type 83 destroyers to replace the aging members of its “fleet.”

This, of course, in the face of their supposed “fleet,” which has now reportedly dwindled down to only a relative handful of warships, which are in good enough shape to set out to sea to defend the UK and British interests, such as they now are.

  23. @ miguel > “The bafflegrab from the usual suspects who brought us to this point is infuriating”

Thank you for that link; I had not encountered Alexander Muse’s blog before.
He makes an important addition to our knowledge of the propaganda toolbox employed by the Left & Democrats (to the extent that the Venn circles do not overlap, if any).
