Updates on the J6 pipe bomber arrest
Interesting stuff coming out.
The DOJ says that all the evidence was there, but the Biden administration wasn’t especially interesting in solving the case. Why is that no surprise?:
Attorney General Pam Bondi said during a press conference announcing the arrest of Brian Cole Jr. that existing evidence led to the FBI’s breakthrough in a cold case that had “languished” for nearly five years.
“What I will tell you is that evidence has been sitting there collecting dust,” Bondi said. “This wasn’t a new tip. It wasn’t some new evidence. It was the hard work of President Trump’s administration.”
Bondi said federal investigators were able to identify Cole after spending months “sifting through evidence that had been sitting at the FBI with the Biden administration.” She said bringing charges against Cole was not a result of any new witnesses or leads but rather “good, diligent police work and prosecutorial work.”
According to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia reviewed by USA TODAY, Cole lives in a home with his mother and other family members.
Which explains the nice house.

Cole’s credit card and checking account records showed that he purchased multiple items as early as October 2019 through late 2020 consistent with the components used to manufacture two pipe bombs placed at the RNC and DNC offices, according to his 7-page charging document.
Cole bought components including a galvanized pipe, end caps, electrical wire, battery clips and white kitchen timers, court records also said. Investigators tracked Cole’s purchases at Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart and Micro Center.
The suspect bought items including safety glasses, a wire-stripping tool and a machinist’s file, which could be used to make pipe bombs, records also said. Cole then allegedly continued to buy the components after the pipe bombs were found, including a kitchen timer, more nine-volt batteries and galvanized pipes during January 2021. …
Provider records show Cole’s cell phone connected with towers consistent with his being in the area of the RNC and DNC offices on Jan. 5, 2021.
In addition, court documents continued, a Virginia license plate registered to a 2017 Nissan Sentra that he owns was captured on camera the same day at 7:10 p.m., at the South Capitol Street exit from Interstate 395 South. That’s “less than one-half mile from the location where the individual who placed the devices was first observed on foot,” the records said.
Seems like a fair amount of evidence to me.
There’s nothing much coming out about possible ties to groups like Antifa, or about possibly being an anarchist.
ADDENDUM: The suspect has been working for a bail bond company.
I’ve seen a couple of X posts about “radical, Trump-hating” tendencies for this suspect, but nothing with any specifics or links, so it’s still wait and see.
The perp (I hate using “suspect”, the word used to keep lawyers quiet because he has not yet been found guilty) is employed by his daddy’s bail bond company. So papa can bail him out!

This expert says the details identifying Brian Cole, Jr, are the weakest he’s ever seen in such a Federal document. By itself iits a mere 7 pages! “It’s a bizarre story line.”
If true, this case may well not be closed.

Benny claims the circumstantial facts are breathtaking, including motive.
But Viva Frei’s expert disagrees, saying that there’s no real motive given.
Listening to the latter interview, I believe this criminal complaint will get tossed out of court, even if the alleged perpetrator is an anti-Ice and CRT advocate. Maybe even because he is!

I thought Frei and his expert were a bit overly harsh. They kept messing up the dates, saying something was bought 18 months earlier when it was only 6 months earlier, they seemed unaware of Cole’s anti-ICE activism, and they seemed determined to believe that there’s some wider conspiracy. Fine if they’re his defense lawyers, and yes, it’s all circumstantial, but people get convicted on circumstantial evidence. Cases aren’t all like the ones on CSI.

Doesn’t matter. Even if it made it to trial, what jury or judge in DC is going to convict a black guy, even with ironclad evidence against him?
As I just commented on Neo’s other post, I read a rant recently that pointed out the devices were probably never going to detonate except accidentally because the timers were not fit for the purpose of initiating a detonation including lacking a triggering mechanism. Almost like the guy had instructions to make a bomb that left out the crucial details that would, ya know, actually make it explode when desired.
(I’m also reminded, again, of the Whitmer “Fednapping” frame-up that apparently relied on the FBI leading some not very sharp people through the motions of planning a kidnapping.)
I’ve stated more than once that my personal tin-foil hat theory on J6 is leftists planned disturbances to disrupt the certification if their election plans didn’t work and Trump drew another inside straight to win re-election without winning the popular vote. Some folks either didn’t get the memo Biden had in fact won, or some folks decided to hijack the crowd drawn to Trump’s speech for their own purposes.
Circumstantial evidence, especially cell phone pings, is what led to the identification of the Idaho murderer. In that case, he left DNA at the scene, and once they had that, the case was solid. In assembling these devices, did the perp always use gloves so as to leave no DNA? Perhaps the feds have evidence they’re not revealing at this moment.
I agree that getting a conviction in DC is going to be challenging.
Like a lot of things J6ish, a lot of this stuff is kind of vague, as to pointing to guilt. On one hand, the combination of purchases doesn’t lead anywhere likely for a white-collar guy living in a white-collar suburb. Not like a farmer or somebody needing to blow a couple of tree stumps or something.
Were there details about the explosive components? All I’ve seen is “explosive”.
An earlier reference to the “fednapping” is interesting. It took a dozen feds to get a small handful of losers off their barstools. And the governor was never kidnapped, nor did the perps even get started. A real kidnapping would have involved too much interest, as would an actual explosion in this case. If things are fuzzy, you can make up whatever story you want. And the True Believers would believe the inoperative bombs were a MAGA plot because of course they were. But…given the fuzziness, the new plot is a fake job by the Trump admin because of course it is.
These bombs did “detonate” in one crucial and politically convenient way serving our CommieKKKrats.
After Trump’s WH talk, those assembled and Trump himself were permitted to assemble and let their voice heard at the Capitol building.
But the timing of the discovery of two bombs, both next to party political offices, meant that police cancelled the planned First Amendment style rally (eg, the right to petition for grievances against the state and freedom to assemble).
In sworn testimony to Congress, Cap Hill police Chief Steve Sund declared, explained that the Capitol building was shut down on J6 not because of riot but because a pipe bomb was found at the RNC headquarters nearby.
Thus, whoever placed these bomb devices succeeded in not only quashing all dissent over the election, but also the anticipated Congressional debate over the corrupt 2020 election.
Years later, the entire eventful days await genuine disentangling.

So, the evidence used to arrest this guy was there the entire time, but Biden’s FBI – actually Wray’s FBI – refused to arrest this guy. They obviously knew who he was because they otherwise never would have cause to cease the investigation.
Goes to show, yet again, that the deep state is totally out of control and they will do what it takes to protect their own or protect those who are in accord with their ideology.
I find it hard to believe that the FBI and other govt agencies did not plan to actively incite and actively participate in the Jan 6 rioters at the Capitol Bldg; the world’s first “insurrection” in which the insurrectionists had no weapons, did not set fire to anything, and the only fatalities were amongst the rioters.
The deep state will destroy this nation using the earnings confiscated from the wages of the workers.
They are totally out of control, and they use the taxpayer’s money to maintain control of their fiefdoms.
Congress does absolutely nothing about this except hold useless hearings that lead to nothing.

This latest news seems rather sketchy. Maybe some form of limited hangout? Could the alibi evidence have been faked and the real culprit is the former Capitol policewoman who is now a CIA employee?
Now I’m reading he confessed, but claims to be a Trump supporter and should be included in Trump’s pardons. Yeah, right.
Selfy, the list of evidence I’ve seen including surveillance camera footage and cell phone pings (Technofog had a good run down) pretty conclusively ids the guy. I’ve also seen some claims that the FBI was previously able to trace the person shown in various videos apparently planting the bomb(s) via similar means back to a residence but they never went any farther with the investigation. This seems to tie in with the statements at the press conference that no new evidence or tips were needed. I think most of us are wondering less about the accuracy of the identification than
1) If all the Feds had to do was recheck their notes, why did it take almost to the SOL and apparently kicking the lead agent (who also lead the Whitmer ‘Fednapping’ investigation) off the case for an arrest to be made?

2) I’ve heard this guy described as at least an odd duck and possibly on the spectrum. Though all the commentary is designed to make him sound like a lone bomber, it would be interesting to know how he came up with the plans for the bombs

First thing came to mind was misidentification of female set the wheels in motion. Appears no new evidence was found, it was all written down, just needed to be read through and assembled.
And maybe reason it has been ignored is that there really was no black powder, or what ever in the pipes. Maybe pretend bomb was the whole idea.

How about because the FBI intentionally and purposefully decided not to pursue the evidence because it was leading them to someone whose ideology they were sympathetic with; i.e., a black, leftist Trump hater, whereas they were hoping that the evidence would produce a far right, white, fascist, pro-Trump culprit.
When it was clear that the bomber was the former, the FBI simply stopped the investigation.
Check out Chris Wray’s testimony at congressional hearings – a bunch of them – where he is asked how many FBI agents and informers were participants in the Jan 6 “insurrection.” His responded he did not know, but would get back to the committee member. He never did.
Obfuscation, denials, “I don’t remember,” “can’t comment on an ongoing investigation,” etc. was 90% of his testimony. However, he was able to respond to questions like, “do you prefer vanilla or chocolate ice cream, ” etc..
The FBI, DOJ, and almost all federal agencies are agents of and for the Democrat party and will do whatever they must – legal or not – to support the Democrat parties agenda. Because their employees have “lifetime” jobs, they will just wait out Trump’s term and wait for the next democrat president and Congress.
