It occurs to me …
… that one of the biggest reasons the left didn’t want Trump re-elected – and were willing to do almost anything to stop it from happening – was what an energized and enraged Trump, with aides fully on board, would be able to reveal about the left’s perfidy.
I don’t think the Left had any concerns about any big reveals about “perfidy”. I think the Left is much more concerned about its money supply being shut off, an end to laundering government money to the Left through grants to NGOs that give grants to other NGOs that give paychecks to activists.
They’re not worried about what gets in the news, they’re not worried about going to jail–their people will see to it that neither of those things happen–they are worried about how they and their foot soldiers are going to get paid.

They did everything to energize and enrage him more because they never assumed he could retaliate.
They were very confident they could manipulate events to prevent Trump’s second term.
The info that came out today about Hillary’s drugs and permanently psychotic state can’t help.
Not just the Left! I suspect there is fairly large chunk of Republicans who weren’t too happy about it. No politician likes it when a reformer gets into power!

There was on particularly delicious moment on CNN today when the anchor was clearly so rattled by having to read that that she slipped up and said that Hillary was on “heavy psychedelic drugs”.
That was more my thought about the Deep State.
Of course the left in general hated Trump and considered him a menace to all the sacred leftist causes.
But the Deep State, or the upper levels anyway, knew about all its lies and crimes, and what an extreme danger a second, energized Trump term would be to the Deep State.
And they were right!
Given the stakes, I remain surprised and relieved that Trump wasn’t successfully assassinated. It seems the Deep State was willing to whip up hate and limit protection for Trump, but not to arrange a direct hit.
Though Thomas Matthew Crookes remains a mysterious fellow (as LBJ reportedly said of Oswald.)
I always assumed the prior Administration could never allow reality to see the light of day. Flynn had to go asap.They were the first ones to utilize “fake news” so as to confuse issues.

And, of course, they had the Media—THEIR Media—running serious, incessant and effective, interference (it’s called COLLUSION).

AAAND the FBI, CIA and DNI were all onside with potential whistleblowers sidelined and/or heavily intimidated.
But…“nothing to see here, folks, move along…” because…Trump’s a Nazi—albeit with a Jewish daughter and Jewish grandkids (great “cover”, one can only agree)—and the Dems HAD TO protect our precious democracy”, “save our great country”, “transform our nation”…and thus redeem it from its sinful, racist, oppressive, colonialist past.
IOW, destroy it.
Of course, with all this “virtue” (and insurance) going for them, there was no way they were going to get caught…and even if they WERE somehow compromised, no one would ever believe the claims—by definition specious—of their Trumpist Nazi opponents and his uber-fascist followers…
And no, Trump was never supposed to have survived methodical, maniacal lawfare, assassination, nor was he supposed to have won in 2024.

Seriously: why didn’t the conspirators eliminate all the evidence in the past four years, and why — give their advanced positions in national security — did they not practice the slightest bit of operational security in their communications?
Does it occur to anyone that in the last decade, the news has become like a meth addiction? Even the most quotidian stories, like the logrolling and backbiting in Congress, become blown up into these Manichean struggles between titans when they’re really just minor politicians trying to get their names in the Post or the Times. People need higher stakes just to feel anything.
And now, when news like this comes out, vindicating anyone like me who thought the Russian Collusion Scandal was BS the whole time, all I can muster is a shrug. All my self-righteous indignation receptors in my brain are burned out by years of abusing them with stories claiming the end is nigh.
I guess what calms me down is that Trump was successful in his first term anyway, at least until COVID. And then he fought off the entirety of the Deep State and convinced the American people to elect him President again, and now, unchained, he’s going after the Deep State for real this time. There were lost opportunities, of course, but that’s life.
I don’t even really need convictions, although I think Comey and Brennan should be tried in open court. It’s enough that the truth is out there now, and those men’s names, as well as Obama’s, are Mudd for the rest of their lives. All they have is their coterie of lapdogs to defend them.
What I find most infuriating is the media support such that when the Left is doing bad thing X, they assert with media assistance that it is the Right that is actually doing X.
Sometimes the view that we must counter bad or wrong speech with good or correct speech seems so inadequate to the occasion.
And we know there are too many times when the “law proves to be an ass”, so we should not count our chickens (I mean convictions) until they hatch (indict and the judge finally rules).

It’s all too easy to credit these people with being far more than they are. The fact that they’re connected and powerful doesn’t automatically make them competent and smart. Some of them are there simply because they knew somebody who knew somebody, because they were classmates with someone at the right college, etc.
These people are just human beings like anyone else. Some of them are very competent, some of them not so much. A lot of them are used to being humored and flattered and being allowed to ignore various rules and limits, which make one lazy and complacent and cocky.

But take comfort in the fact that no matter how the battle looks to be going day to day, the media has been losing the war over time. The ‘old media’ wields only a shadow of the power and influence and trust they commanded even a decade ago. Compared to the days of Cronkite and Sam Donaldson and Mike Wallace, the left media is a joke now.
The media, the left academic/judicial/governing establishment, the left corporate establishment, they all teamed up to destroy Donald Trump. He is President again and driving forward in spite of years of effort on their part.
Their power is slowly but steadily fading.
