Khamenei Junior …
… is the new Supreme Leader of Iran.
It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
Mojtaba Khamenei is supposedly rich, too; a not-so-austere religious scholar*:
Although it’s impossible to confirm information about him found on the internet, Mojtaba appears to be fabulously wealthy. For starters, he allegedly owns a portfolio of luxury properties in London valued at more than £100 million.
Maybe if Khamenei The Younger ever decided to flee, Keir Starmer would welcome him to London.

THIS could be a head fake. IRGC get a dead man to drive the IDF nuts looking for him!
At least this was mooted as a possibility at Instapundit. Outside the box thinking by those outside the box?
TJ beat me to it!
Someone commented that perhaps this guy is already dead–perhaps killed along with his father–and that the Mullas named him as their new leader as a way of laying a false trail, of deceiving our forces into looking all over for the dead guy, while their actual, new leader remains unknown–in the shadows–and, thus, safe.
One thing is pretty certain: entertainment in heaven has no doubt greatly improved of late…

Perhaps he’s gone to wherever the Hidden Imam is, to re-emerge at the apocalypse.
How many of the ‘Assembly of Experts’ are still alive?
Maybe Junior Kh is a real estate investor. I doubt he will be allowed entry into the UK.
A report this morning said Mojtaba Khamenei had been injured in a strike and had lost a leg. He was supposed to speak at a Islamic Republic rally, and they read a message from him after putting his picture on the podium.
Someone was pulling his leg?
So sad.
Just call him the
Hop along mullah fellah.
Assembly of Experts’ are still alive” – I think very few, but they don’t really matter because the IRGC (is that right) actually controls the country, as much as control they can muster.
I noticed a video the other night of what looked like many thousands of Khomeini supporters chanting and waving their cell phone lights at a nighttime rally, huge pictures of Khomeini quite evident –could have been an old stock video, could have been after Khomeini got killed.
If this was after he was killed, this represents a lot of his presumably–fanatical to one degree or the other–supporters, suporters who are very likely going to try to thwart any attempts to turn Iran back into a secular state.
And it occurred to me that one way to make the task of identifying who these people are easier would be if you were able to, say, get a helicopter or prop aircraft and use it to spray some sort of highly indelible and very noticible dye, a color–dayglow orange, purple, bright green, etc.–over everyone in such a crowd, and voila, a very easy way to identify a whole bunch of people who were quite likely to be Khomeini supporters.
For what it’s worth, the first ayatollah (ruling from 1979 to 1989) was Ruhollah Khomeini.
The second ayatollah (ruling from 1989 to a couple of days ago) was Ali Khamenei.
The first is pronouned koh-MAY-nee; the second is pronounced KAH-men-ee. [I think.]
It’s confusing but to me, it’s worth the clarity. Carry on . . .
Snow on Pine:
If Khomeini, it’s very old. But I assume you mean Khamenei? Of course he had supporters. But the regime is reported to also be releasing a lot of AI- generated footage. So who knows.
“In this episode, surgeon Dr. Hooman Melamed and then foreign policy analysts Lisa Daftari, and Shahrzad Ghanei, Senior Editor at Epoch Times Persian edition, walk us through what the ground situation actually looks like and what’s materially different about the conditions on the ground right now.”
The Iranian dispora is firmly in support of the US action to neutralize Iran’s threat to the US/region/world. First interview with an Iranian doctor whose father was initially part of the Islamic Republic and worked against the Shah. He soon got crossways with the regime and his father and family fled to the US.
He makes the case why it’s in American interests to take out the Islamic regime.

Hmm…has anyone ever seen Cornhead and Donald Trump in the same room?
The war against the current Iranian regime will be over before April 1, 2026 – Cornhead
The war against Iran will end “very soon” – Donald Trump
Mike Plaiss:
Yes. See this.
I guarantee the Israeli’s know who is running show.
Then the only question is whether Israeli wants him dead and how fast.
In re Neo’s link to Cornhead’s PowerLine post in 2016, under his real-life byline of Dave Begley: he lists Trumps first-term goals, carried over to the second term because many were stymied by the left and pseudo-right, despite GOP having Congressional majorities:
Some have been almost accomplished, others are still on-going objectives which are being pursued out of the limelight of the wars against drug cartels and Iran. Some are debatable (he did appoint “conservatives” to the Supreme Court, but maybe not Conservatives). Obamacare and Common Core have to die in the Congress, which still has Republicans who oppose him on a number of things.
DOGE was a welcome addition to the list; expelling illegal immigrants a newly-necessary one (IIRC that was a part of his platform, but his emphasis was on ending the inflow, because the existing population hadn’t been weaponized as it was in Biden’s term).
Any large gathering of the Iranian regime’s supporters should be eliminated with extreme prejudice. Now that we have total air superiority, one cruise missile could do the job.
I gather around noon today, Instapundit posted this item from X.com
The “Mojtaba Khamenei”, they could bring only a cardboard cutout of him.
“He is reportedly unconscious after an assassination attempt”
So, still breathing, eh? https://instapundit.com/781546/#disqus_thread
Unconscious does nicely preclude many ways to prove him alive, and so they can keep him Schrodinger’s leader.
Well he did have a black turban. Was Schrodinger’s a black cat?
@Snow on Pine: I noticed a video the other night of what looked like many thousands of Khomeini supporters chanting and waving their cell phone lights at a nighttime rally…
FWIW I noticed that video too. Snow on Pine is not mistaken. I didn’t stick around long enough to figure it out.
It’s estimated 10-20% of Iranians support the Islamic Republic. Even at the lower estimates means nearly 10 million oppose what the US/Israel are doing right now.
Brian E–So what do you do with, how do you deal with, 10 million or so brainwashed, likely fanatical Muslims who are presumably going to do everything they can to resist and to sabotage attempts to return Iran to a more secular state; we hope to some semblance of democracy?
I have no doubt he’s “unconscious,” the question being how irreversibly.
If he made it to the UK, especially if he were still “upright and respiratory,” as Beege at HotAir puts it, they’d probably elect him PM.
Snow on Pine:
I think the other Iranians will remember, and deal with that 10%.
Payback is a bitc….
Snow on Pine, not all of the 10% would fight against a new government. It’s likely the success of this endeavor will hinge on the national army taking control of the government from the IRGC– after we’ve killed enough of the IRGC military and destroyed their equipment.
Most of our attacks are on the IRGC. While we have taken out any air defense systems the Artesh controls, I don’t think we’ve targeted their ground capabilities.
If there is such a nationalist force, loyal to a shah, or the idea of establishing a true representative government, based on what the administration has said, it will be this force that must fight and defeat whatever remains of the IGRC and Basij.
We could maintain air support and a no fly zone for this military– but it will take Iranians fighting for their country. This won’t happen until we finish destroying the IRGC military capabilities. I don’t think the Islamic true believers will capitulate without being destroyed.
Interesting how many of these “austere religious leaders” and leaders of socialist countries where everyone is equal, become stupendously wealthy…
Ten Little Imams?
