America still has people with strong enough beliefs that they would die for them. That goes for both Good and Evil ends.
Chills. We hope we’d be as brave as that bus driver, in the moment of extremity. And hope we’ll never have to know.
The bus driver was a hero of the first order.
The FBI officers that busted into the lair were doing their jobs. They were trained and rehearsed. It all paid off. Yes, they are heroes too.
The bus driver did not sign up to be a law enforcement officer. He was not trained to do what he did. It was out of pure love for those children that he laid down his life. There is no greater love.
The student who called 911 also performed way above and beyond the call of what anyone so young could be expected to do.
In cases like this it is easy to see the best and worst of humanity at work simultaneously. We hope we would be as brave and duty bound as the best and we hope we never have to see the worst up close and personal.
