Yeah, I kinda-sorta get it, but there’s a lot more to digest before I make my cloaking device and time transporter. (seriously, I *do* kind get it)
Without pretending to a great understanding of present quantum mechanics theory, my reaction this:
Does the present theory do a decent job of explaining observed phenomena?
Does the new theory do a better job of it?
If this threatens to overturn our understanding of physics, keep in mind Carl Sagan’s advice, “Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence”.
I’d be inclined to wait and see how this all shakes out.

Their “wavefunction” seems to be equivalent to a “string”. The latter has demonstrated extraordinary mathematical correlation with physical phenomenon; but, no one has yet described an experiment capable of demonstrating its existence.
Whether it is a quantum “wavefunction” or a “string”, the conclusion is that our physical realm is actually a massive signal generator. The so-called “big bang” actually marked the initiation of this generator and the strings have been resonating ever since. The sentient beings who possess so-called “freewill” are actually minor generators which are capable of independently affecting the signals surrounding them.
I would guess that the electromagnetic spectrum — at least the band we are capable of sensing and influencing — is a subset of the bandwidth covered by the universal generator. Not only are we limited in sensing and generating frequencies, but also in the amplitude of the signal generated.
Something also worth noting, and related to this “discovery”, is that our best understanding of the process by which our structured universe overcame entropy is that there is an as yet undescribed underlying order.
It will be proven our universe is a snowglobe on some adolescent alien kid’s dresser.
In fairness to Heinz Pagels this idea is not all that new. He kicked around the idea that a statistical wave would have a presence in the real (albeit quantum) world in a book I read 20 or so years ago.

i’m still waiting for the discovery that Newtonian Physics best describes our world after all. In a way we never quite understood.
Well-known paradox named after Einstein, Podolsky and Rosen (entangled quantum states) still has not acceptable interpretation consistent with general ideas of causality. This theorem, it seems, elucidates this point and shows that instant interaction at distance is theoretically inevitable. Shroedinger belived this from the beginning, so he dared to suppose that our free will (thought) can change this function for quantum objects and this explains phenomenon of conscience and interaction between immaterial (mind) and material (body).
If this theorem is true, it indeed poses limits for scientific (observable) knowledge about quantum objects, that is, our knowledge always can grasp only certain aspects of reality, and there exist other its aspects that are non-physical, basically, supernatural.
This also indicate that thought and will are free from restraints of time and space and instant communication at distance known as telepathy does not violate principles of physics, being essentially non-physical. Whether it exist or not is another question which can not be solved neither by theory nor by experiment. It is trully article of faith. The same applies to communication with ghosts or other supernatural entities.
