I don’t know whether or not I like this… — 11 Comments

  1. An explicit juxtaposition between the apogee and perigee in Western art, only exceeded by the contrast between Michaelangelo’s exquisite Pieta and the depraved “Piss Christ”…

  2. I still remember the ‘GONG’ show many years ago ~ also know as stupid people tricks. Best description I have.

  3. Yea, I saw this. I didn’t think much of it. It as strange, but not in a good way.

  4. I don’t know this show, but who is the over-enthused and constantly stunned black guy gasping in the wings? Is it like this century’s version of Mr. T?

  5. Looking at the makeup of the audience I see that I am not in the majority demographic. My reaction to this bit is similarly different than that of the people that saw it live.

  6. Impressive, very impressive.
Was an “expected” surprise (I was expecting “something” more than just piano, especially with the spoiler “fierce dance”).

This is one of the better dance sequences of this industrial-ish music/ sounds mix I’ve seen, he did a lot of difficult moves very well.

I did like it. Wish I could have done this when younger.

Smaller versions of this kind of robot (maybe there’s a term I don’t know? wiki says robot or mannequin ) dance are very possible to do in balls where we do both classical waltz, disco, and a bit of folk dance.

Perhaps because I can actually imagine making some of these moves, I like it better than the more athletic ballet.

His Italian accent is very cool, too.

  7. Victor Borge’s better.

Victor Borge was a great comedian, and odds are a much better pianist than this guy, but I don’t believe Victor Borge could dance like this guy.
