Elyssa Slotkin isn’t hiding her intent
Slotkin admits wants to frighten young conservatives out of working for the current administration:
During an Oct. 13 University of Chicago event focused on her political path and the future of the Democratic Party, Slotkin said she wants to pursue “signature cases” against people who “enabled” President Donald Trump.
“I want to look at these signature cases and not just focus on the president, but on the people who enabled him,” the Michigan Democrat said. Slotkin went on to describe how she wants prospective administration employees to weigh the risks.
“I want young people coming out of school to say, should I go work for the Trump administration? Like, that sounds fun, I might get an opportunity. I want them to be like, Lord, that might be buying myself a ton of problems that I don’t want, and so let me avoid participating in that,” she said. “I want that deterrence message.”
This has been Democrats’ policy for a long time, either through lawfare or financial pressure or social or career ostracization or through actual violence and public harassment. What’s new is admitting it so blatantly.
I think the “admitting it” part comes from Slotkin’s belief that the left has successfully implanted the idea in the minds of half the country (or more?) that this administration is not just one with which the left disagrees, but is in fact evil and must be stopped by any means. The survival of “our democracy” depends on it.

I was visiting my friend in the east SF bay area last weekend. A big intersection several blocks from her house is the prime location for large gatherings of “No Kings” demonstrators. Including last weekend. No Kings! Save Our Democracy! Plus, placards even dumber than those.
The only time in my historical understanding that a president was threatening king-like behavior was with FDR. Hugely popular, elected 3 times, successfully converted the SCOTUS from correctly blocking his king-like actions to one that allowed them (Wickard v. Filburn), devalued the dollar and effectively defaulted on US debt, and the impetus for a constitutional amendment limiting a president to two terms.
The Dems now correctly realize that they can essentially “sell refrigerators to Eskimos” with the media they own and their radicalized base.
J.D. Vance is at a rally near me right now. I noticed that on the Next Door app there were lots of nasty comments about him. And yet this area consistently votes Republican. Leftist are not afraid to be vocal and in-your-face, while conservatives cool their breaths but vote.
I suppose Slotkin doesn’t realize that she’s going to be cited in every lawsuit launched against the right for years to come. Each one is going to use the defense of illegal political targeting.
Just to be precise she spells her name Elissa.
What a wretched woman! One of the Seditious Six, who called on our military troops to revolt against the Commander in Chief.
Slotkin Was just recently elected in 2024 in a razor, thin margin against Mike Rogers:48.6 – 48.3%

Heckler’s Veto writ large.

This!!! And successful they have been. Every person I know who is a Democrat fervently believes the above statement, and that is literally half the country. I know they have been painting any GOP POTUS as such, especially since Bush, but it certainly has ramped up in the last decade, and will continue.

Trump won the popular vote in 2024. The glass is half full. Keep fighting the good fight!
