..The filing, dubbed a ‘gentleman’s agreement,’ restricted what Anthony’s character witnesses could say about him and his family, as both sides agreed to keep potentially damaging information about the teenagers out of court.

You’ll recall about 25 years ago a woman in Texas named Andrea Yates drowned her five children (in the interval between when her husband left for work and her mother-in-law arrived to help her for the day). (1) You had a chorus of the chatterati (notably columnist Kathleen Parker) blaming the husband for this atrocity, (2) you had Dr. Park Dietz testifying at the trial blaming some pastor with whom they’d done circuit-riding for a while (a pastor they hadn’t seen in two years), and (3) the pastor in public fora who insisted he’d told Russell Yates he needed to attend to his wife.

This story touched me very deeply because Mohamsson did not just speak out but wore a Star of David publicly. And not only is she Palestinian, her family is Shia Muslim. This took tremendous courage, not just “political” courage.
I still have a Jim Croce CD, listen to it now and then. What a loss that was.

There won’t be anyone left on the solidarity list with that exclusion.

Some days ago someone on this site recommended the new book ” 1453 The Conquest and Tragedy of Constantinople” by Anthony Kaldellis. I don’t remember who recommended it, but thanks! It is a good book.
AF, it is not clear where her surname came from. According to wiki her family name at birth was “Mohammed”; I could not find any information on whether she is married or not.
