If you hate the NY Times you’re going to love this editorial.
This month, when an authoritative United Nations advisory panel quietly junked a long-misused worst-case emissions scenario known as RCP 8.5, one of the first to notice was the president, who charmingly tweeted about “Dumocrats” and their “WRONG, WRONG, WRONG” climate estimates.
This was a public service, it turned out, for Mr. Trump’s post forced the media to reckon with a decade’s worth of its own bad reporting.
Speaking of the weather, I saw Pressure last night. I think most here would like it. Brendan Fraser is a bit of a disappointment as Eisenhower, but the guy who plays the scientist/meteorologist is fantastic – Best Actor type stuff. So is the female lead who plays Eisenhower’s aid.
The actor playing the scientist reminded me so much of Dirac that I can’t believe it wasn’t intentional.
A gripping drama about a weather report, but it works! When JFK was taking the reins in 1961 he asked Eisenhower something about the success of the Normandy invasion. Eisenhower said, “We had better meteorologists than the Germans.”
VDH, as usual, sounds perfectly reasonable to me.
