Fascinating. Who came up with this particular Olympic sport? An offshoot of floor exercise in female gymnastics, I imagine, but why add the volley ball? Was there some committee sitting around thinking about ways to enhance the difficulty or was this the result of a single “Eureka!” moment?

This might be considered a future Olympic sport…of sorts…though I have no idea how it might be judged…
