Tucker Carlson says the mean Joos detained him in Israel
Taking a leaf out of Greta Thunberg’s book, Tucker Carlson made the claim that the Israelis “detained” him at the airport:
“Men who identified themselves as airport security took our passports, hauled our executive producer into a side room, and then demanded to know what we discussed with Ambassador Huckabee,” Carlson stated in his Wednesday interview with The Daily Mail.
A spokesperson for the US Embassy in Israel told The Daily Mail that Carlson’s claims were inaccurate and clarified that he only received the same passport-control questions that many visitors to Israel encounter.
Israel Airports Authority further confirmed that Carlson was “politely asked a few routine questions, in accordance with standard procedures applied to many travelers” in a late Wednesday X/Twitter post.
The questions were asked in a private, VIP lounge to protect his and his party’s privacy, the authority said, adding that “no unusual incident occurred” and it rejects any such claims.
Not the first time Carlson has lied about Israel and Jews. And I doubt it’s the last. It’s his stock in trade, his clickbait.
Oh, and then there was this:
Tucker Carlson was seen hugging and taking a photograph with a Ben-Gurion Airport employee, according to footage circulating on social media on Thursday, contradicting his claim to The Daily Mail that he was detained and hauled off by security.
In the video, he was seen smiling and hugging staff at the airport. He appeared to be unaccompanied, further contradicting his claims that he was travelling with security guards.
Sources confirmed to The Jerusalem Post that Carlson did not leave the airport during his visit and conducted the interview with US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee there. He departed Israel around 3 p.m., concluding a trip that lasted only a few hours.
An in-depth fact-finding mission for the intrepid investigative reporter.
I also came across this today:

His Carlson impersonation was good before, now it’s almost spot on.
Tucker’s about Tucker. He has no real beliefs it seems. Only to do what will bring in the ducats. Now it’s Jews, tomorrow Ukrainians then Russians. His guiding principle is “how can I get more eyeballs?”.
Roger L. Simon writes, as a former friend of Tucker, that being “interrogated” at Ben Gurion airport on entry is routine, and Tucker is full of it, both as to that and as to the Bethlehem-based Anglican bishop whom he recently interviewed, putting the blame on Israel for the deterioration of Bethlehem under the authority of Fatah.

That’s an embarrassing video. If I still liked/watched Tucker (I don’t), that would turn me off him permanently.
I think everyone is talking about how the video shows Tucker is a dishonest Jew hater and anti-Israeli bigot who is doing propaganda, and that’s totally true. But I think a couple things that stand out to me as not being talked about as much are two things.
Firstly: It shows a VERY STUPID lack of judgement. Ethics and morality aside, this is Ben Gurion Airport. Did he REALLY think that he wasn’t being recorded and that the Israelis would not be able to put up the footage if pushed to it? Had he not seen the footage of the 9/11 hijackers after the fact from various airports and realized that the Israelis would if anything have Ben Gurion wired up even more? That if he was going to lie and smear in this case he’d need to make his lies more believable? It shows that among other things Tucker Carlson is nowhere near as smart or aware as he thinks.
Secondly: It shows his duplicity and two-facedness. That he will joke with you to your face, smile, and hug you, and yet when you turn around try to shank you in the back and paint you and yours as monsters. That’s a chilling level of coldbloodedness and perfidy, and there’s rarely a good reason for exercising it. And I don’t think he has one.
One could hope this does Tucker in, and that even the Jew Haters might be turned off by seeing him acting all chummy with the Israeli equivalent of TSA. But you know what they say about hope in one hand and Tucker Carlson Interview in another….
I traveled to Israel in the mid 80’s. My flight had a layover in Amsterdam that was not known to the passengers until we were in flight. We had to get off the plane and they had a holding area for us to wait for about an hour. I left this area and bought a couple of t-shirts. When I returned I was brought into a small room. I was frisked and asked questions. “What did you do? Who did you speak with? Did anybody ask you to mail a letter for them? Did anybody ask you to carry a package for them? ” Leaving Israel security was heightened because while I was there the Rome and Vienna El Al terminals were attacked by terrorists. What Tucker dealt with was nothing. The worst part is that unlike Tucker I didn’t get a hug from anybody.
Well, someone’s lying.
JD better get his mind right about Carlson.

I hope the conversation between Huckabee and Carlson was taped and will be aired by Carlson.
Carlson recently interviewed a Palestinian Christian living in the West Bank, and the criticism is the opening of settlements for increased security of Israel proper by allowing these settlements to act as an early warning. This includes land around Bethlehem. Tucker is using the fact these are Christians whose land is being taken, but it has nothing to do with their faith. It has to do with eliminating any chance of vulnerable areas being used as bases to launch attacks on Israel.
@Bob Wilson
If there ever were a time to criticize Carlson for Vance, it is now. The justification is abundant. Let’s be blunt about what happened here: Tucker Carlson not only blatantly lied in order to peddle hatred of Jews and Israel and did so in a stupid and indisputable manner, he did so while trying to create a diplomatic incident between the US and Israel. While directly attacking the Trump Admin and its chosen ambassador to Israel.
This is where some public hammer dropping needs to happen. It doesn’t matter if Vance wants to be friends with Tucker after. It doesn’t even matter if Vance doesn’t care about Jews or even hates them. This is a direct fraud concocted to attack both the US and the administration Vance is a part of, and for which there is no serious or honest dispute on what happened. Vance should not be silent on this. He does not have to be cruel or overly harsh (though this would justify it) or claim Tucker isn’t his friend (though this is not the conduct of a friend), but he needs to say something.
Turtler:
I have a gut feeling that Vance will stay silent about Carlson. I hope I’m wrong about that, but that’s what I think.
I think that Vance will justify his silence – which I think is cowardice or even compliance – as being “loyalty” to a friend who helped him out in the past, and/or the rejection of “cancellation.”
Vance either thinks what Carlson says is okay, or he doesn’t want to alienate the people who like Carlson, or he’s afraid of Carlson turning on him, or some combination of those things.
Here’s the interview with Ambassador Huckabee.
The Ambassador had more patience than I would have.
