Thanks, Biden administration, for Tren de Aragua — 16 Comments

  1. My own state of Idaho is right next door, IOW too close for comfort.

Utahns and Idahoans are, in general, too nice for their own good. You see a surprising number of “Refugees Welcome” bumper stickers on cars around here, and I just shake my head at the foolish people who slap those things on their cars and go “but they’re pooor and need help and are just seeking a better life.”

I wasn’t the first one to point this out, but these “refugees” are fleeing places that are full of people just like themselves, and then once they get here they set about making the neighborhoods they settle in a replica of the place they could not wait to get out of.

  2. The Administration should build a max security prison for these illegal criminals. There is one somewhere in El Salvador that is very restrictive.

    https://apnews.com/article/el-salvador-prison-gangs-bukele-42315f24691e0a3136d005ab7c0bee6a

If the countries will not accept their citizens back, send them there and stop or reduce any foreign aid to that country to pay for the prison. This is harsh, but much safer for citizens. And, by being separated from regular American prisoners, these illegals will not have a chance to “convert” other prisoners to their ideology.

  3. I’m of a more “nationalist” inclination re immigration. I’ve jumped through those hoops in 2 different countries… legally… So I tend to look at those who enter any country illegally, irrespective of what they are leaving behind, with an “end of the line buddy” set of lenses. The place they entered is where they are returned. And our southern border could look like the Berlin Wall for all I care.

  4. My daughter is thinking of moving from Austin to Denver, and I noticed some articles about this gang in Denver. Should we be concerned?

  5. @Sgt Joe Friday: these “refugees” are fleeing places that are full of people just like themselves

They’re also not fleeing, they are paying a lot of money (in terms of where they come from) to get here. It’s the same with the “refugees” coming over to Europe from Africa: young people of prime working age with fashionable shoes, not women, children and old people in whatever rags they stand up in.

And our government winks at it so they can keep wages suppressed.

  6. @Liz:The Administration should build a max security prison for these illegal criminals.

Better and cheaper to pay third-party countries to take them, preferably ones across an ocean, than to build new stuff for the Federal government, and what if a Hawaiian judge orders the illegals in the shiny new Fed prison released? Furthermore, if the border ever gets secured, we just stop sending people instead of paying for their life of incarceration.

Not to mention that gangs in prison operate criminal organizations outside prison. A lot of people don’t know this and don’t see how it works, but if we send these gangs of illegals to some third party nation, they won’t be able to operate gangs outside prison there, all their contacts are broken.

  7. Caracas Chronicles, the last English language Venezuelan blog left standing, has published some articles bewailing the change in US media coverage from “Venezuelan refugees in US fleeing tyranny” to “illegal alien Venezuelan gang members infest US.” Even more bewailing when Trump mentions Ven gang antics.

Well, that’s what happens. It was clever of Maduro to send gang members here. Not so clever of Brandon to cooperate with Maduro.

  8. I definitely recommend following Barry Meislin’s link. If you’re not watching appropriations, it is much easier for politicians in either party to sucker you.

It’s not like Johnson doesn’t know these things are in here. He wants his cronies paid, and this is the price, and he’s fine with it, because that’s what the GOP does in Congress and has for a long time. This right here is the ratchet-and-pawl that keeps the government moving Left when Dems are in power but stops it from moving back Right when they’re not, and it’s happening before your eyes–the Party of Government is getting what it wants, and the Party of Grift is giving it to them in exchange for what they want.

But finally someone on the Right with a megaphone is watching. Both Musk and Ramaswamy have helped call attention to what’s in here.

The 1,547 page funding bill includes an extension for the Global Engagement Center—a massive contributor within the Censorship Industrial Complex, who pressured social media companies to censor Americans.

This bill would extend their existence for another NINE YEARS!

There are two provisions buried in the CR that Congress is trying to slip by.

A pay increase for members of Congress from $174,000 to $243,000 per year.

Also, members of Congress are receiving an opt out from being required to use Obamacare.

On the heels of the report that the DOJ obtained the emails of Schiff and Swalwell proving they leaked classified documents to the media, Congress has inserted language into the continuing resolution allowing it to quash any subpoena @Kash_Patel or @PamBondi might issue for ‘House Data’. This would make any investigation into the J6 Committee all but impossible. It would cripple any investigation into Schiff and Swalwell.

Trump and Vance are calling it out too:

The most foolish and inept thing ever done by Congressional Republicans was allowing our country to hit the debt ceiling in 2025. It was a mistake and is now something that must be addressed.

Meanwhile, Congress is considering a spending bill that would give sweetheart provisions for government censors and for Liz Cheney. The bill would make it easier to hide the records of the corrupt January 6 committee—which accomplished nothing for the American people and hid security failures that happened that day. This bill would also give Congress a pay increase while many Americans are struggling this Christmas.

Increasing the debt ceiling is not great but we’d rather do it on Biden’s watch. If Democrats won’t cooperate on the debt ceiling now, what makes anyone think they would do it in June during our administration? Let’s have this debate now. And we should pass a streamlined spending bill that doesn’t give Chuck Schumer and the Democrats everything they want.

Republicans want to support our farmers, pay for disaster relief, and set our country up for success in 2025. The only way to do that is with a temporary funding bill WITHOUT DEMOCRAT GIVEAWAYS combined with an increase in the debt ceiling. Anything else is a betrayal of our country.

Republicans must GET SMART and TOUGH. If Democrats threaten to shut down the government unless we give them everything they want, then CALL THEIR BLUFF. It is Schumer and Biden who are holding up aid to our farmers and disaster relief.

THIS CHAOS WOULD NOT BE HAPPENING IF WE HAD A REAL PRESIDENT. WE WILL IN 32 DAYS!

  9. Musk and Ramaswamy must have slogged through all 1500 pages of that abysmal proposal and even discovered the fine print…

    Astounding.

Johnson now has no choice but to scrap it as it currently stands. (If this will indeed be the case then it’s a huge achievement.)

And so, an excellent start for M ‘n R (though I prefer E ‘n V) and a huge plug for the future effectiveness of the DOGE Boys…and Trump.

  10. @Barry Meislin:Musk and Ramaswamy must have slogged through all 1500 pages

Pretty sure they have minions for that. But there’s plenty of people commenting on blogs like this one that could split these things up and call out the egregious things to someone with a megaphone.

  11. Ty Rex, depends on where in Denver. We live 50 mi North. If she doesn’t need to live in Denver, there are other places. But, if she is kind of conservative, Denver is SOLID BLUE.

  12. I posted on the open thread:

After pushback from Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, Speaker Johnson now reportedly in talks to pull the omnibus spending bill and pass instead a “clean” CR through March with an appropriation for disaster relief in western NC.

    https://x.com/VivekGRamaswamy/status/1869490818937151728

Musk threatened to primary any Republicans voting for the omnibus.

  13. So some dumbpublicans are considering investigating Liz Cheney for improprieties connected to her tenure on the Jan 6 Stalinist show trial investigation.

If she does get investigated – don’t hold your breath – the end result will be several hundred page report outlining her malfeasance, after which either nothing at all will happen to her, or she will be required to wear, for at most 15 minutes , an ankle bracelet and be confined to her home for no more than 16 minutes.

Frankly, she has nothing at all to fear; just observe what has happened to Hillary, Wray, Mayorkas, the many members of the intelligence community that signed a document declaring Trump to be Putin’s lover, and yes, the “big man.” The latter was found too frail and senile to stand trial.

But do not fret Damen und Herren, nobody is above the law here in the USA (this includes the operators of all those drones zipping thru the night sky over NJ).
