  1. The Democrats’ lies have been fast and furious.
    And NON-STOP.

Lying constantly and systematically about their economic malfeasance (AKA sabotage) will be particularly problematic for Trump and for the entire country:

  2. Can’t say THIS was entirely unexpected…
    (Time for a deep breath.)

  3. Maybe. Maybe Noem, but y’know, Kaitin Collins has “according to two people familiar with the selection” — two anonymous non-entities as sources and is, as I believe, a viscious kneejerk-leftist mouthpiece, dumb as a bag of rocks. So there’s that to consider.

  4. Last I saw on X(Twitter), had Trump picking Kristi Noem for Homeland Security and Tulsi Gabbard for Defense. I would prefer Rick Grenell get State, myself.

  5. Haven’t seen about Tulsi for DoD, but I’d like that. Still have doubts about Noem, but I’m willing to give her a chance. Though as a long time dog lover, her shooting a puppy turns my stomach and says something about her character to me.

  6. Trump has been making official the following positions in the last hour:
    1) Elise Stefanik as UN Ambo
    2) Mike Huckabee as Israel Ambo
    3) Lee Zeldin as EPA Admin
    4) John Ratcliffe as CIA Director
    5) Bill McGinley as White House Counsel
    6) Steven Witkoff as MiddleEast Special Envoy
    7) Mike Waltz as NatSec Advisor

These are from Trump’s X account.

  7. Lee Zeldin for EPA seems a good choice. I’d prefer EPA get dismantled, but might have to settle for hamstrung.

  8. Neo, love the video. Can’t wait to see one with the entire Trump Cabinet.
I am sure Grennell will have something important.
Physicsguy, she had reasons. Not that CNN would report them.

  9. Re; Stayin’ Alive — Trump, Musk et al.

    Brilliant. Love it!

The “Stayin’ Alive” subtext of the first Trump/Musk version was that they were both fighting for their lives.

If 2024 hadn’t gone Red, Trump was looking at being stripped of his wealth and put in prison. No foolin’. Remember the J6.

If Trump lost, Musk believed 2024 was the last free US election. He believed he was destined for destruction too. The Left really, really hates Musk these days.

  10. The puppy narrative continues. It certainly has legs.

We had to put down both of our senior (14 and 13 year old) poodles this fall, both from kidney failure, so dealing with loss of our dear companions has been an ongoing thing, The house seems so empty.

  11. EXPANDING on sdferr and the surprise Sec. Defense nomination.

He’s been an FNC contributor since 2014. He was an occasional advisor to Trump in his first term. And of his four books, at least the last two (2022 and 2024) focus on Woke education topics and the military.

Hegseth is from Minnesota, educated at Princeton and an MPP from Harvard (ie, Master’s of Public Policy). He served in the National Guard and Individual Ready Reserve, and retired as a major after tours of duty in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Wikipedia on his pushback against Woke at Harvard:
In June 2022 on a “Fox & Friends Weekend” segment Hegseth crossed out Harvard on his diploma writing in “Critical Theory” and then marked “RETURN TO SENDER” across the central body as a protest of Harvard and other such universities.

“People will say ‘this is just a stunt, you still have a degree’ and that’s fine. I went, I got the degree, I walked to the classes and all that, but I hope this is a statement that as conservatives and patriots, if we love this country, we can’t keep sending our kids and elevating them to universities that are poisoning their minds (against America) I may have survived it, but a lot of kids go there and buy into ‘critical theory university,’ and that’s how we get future leaders, Supreme Court Justices, Senators, others, who see America as an evil place. And Harvard is a factory for that kind of thinking” he said. Hegseth then declared his intention to return the diploma to Harvard.
    =================

Thus, Hegseth has Trump’s ear and the right bone fides to carry out the important mission to revive our military to its traditional roles in protecting the US and our territory: specifically, to kill the enemy and break things. And stamping out Gen. Milley’s Woke Madness, which is already controlling the Military academies.

My own rating of this appointment: EXCELLENT.

  12. Disney has a new Captain America movie cued up and, after many reshoots, they just released a trailer.

It’s pretty weird and off-putting. I can see why they did all the reshoots.

Captain America is now a black guy with wings who wields Cap’s trademark red-white-and-blue shield. He’s facing an American government led by President Harrison Ford, but there is a traitor inside the administration.

Who turns out to be Pres. Harrison Ford, who can also transform into Red Hulk, a huge red rage monster. Red. Rage. Monster. Get it?

–Snarky Jay, “Captain America: Brave New World | TRAILER REACTION!”
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWl3YaxcRbw

Snarky Jay is a pretty young woman who fell in love with Star Wars and Marvel Comics. She achieved modest success as a cosplayer at fan conventions. She’s fun. Somehow she’s been disillusioned.

This new Captain America is going to flop.

And I say again, FU Harrison Ford.

  13. BREAKING Trump NEWS: Elon Musk and Vivek Ramiswamy to head the Department of Governmental Efficiency. (—Ingraham on Fox News)

  14. Yeah sdferr. Kristi Noem posted to DHS is a surprise, too. Given her ranch and SoDak past experience, the Interior Department is the natural fit.

But given DHS, it raises the question of who will be in charge of reorganising and shrinking the bloated 17 Intel Agencies? Radcliffe at CIA, perhaps?

  15. huxley: EXCELLENT!
Allen: yeah! Veteran’s Administration has been rumoured and a great fit. Whatever the case, I think it will be to groom her for SoS or Defense. Upward Tulsi Gabbard!!

An active day for the President Elect and staff, after Veterans Day.

This pace suggests most major posts may be named by Thursday. Friday for cleanup.

  16. om,

Hopefully the sadness you feel in their absence is somewhat offset by the knowledge that you gave them a great home and wonderful lives for 13 and 14 years. The joy your poodles gave you was surely more than reciprocated by the care and love you provided them.

  17. If you find your face is uncomfortably sore from smiling so much lately, well, buckle up buttercup: it’s gonna get worse.

  18. Elon and Vivek will be heading an as-yet unofficial federal agency.
    Department of Governmental Efficiency.
    DOGE.

Funniest thing I’ve ever seen a government administration do with a straight face.

    In the news today.

And what is a Doge anyway??

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doge_of_Venice
Doge was the highest role of authority within the Republic of Venice (697 CE to 1797 CE).The word Doge derives from the Latin Dux, meaning “leader,” originally referring to any military leader, becoming in the Late Roman Empire the title for a leader of an expeditionary force formed by detachments (vexillationes) from the frontier army (limitanei), separate from, but subject to, the governor of a province, authorized to conduct operations beyond provincial boundaries.

The Doge of Venice acted as both the head of state and head of the Venetian oligarchy. Doges were elected for life through a complex voting process.

  19. I like Kristi Noem. But most distressing is My state can’t count votes any better then Arizona. And really would like to talk to someone who voted for Trump and Casey

  20. Not real thrilled with Hesgeth as SoD; I much preferred Tulsi which I think would be a good move politically. She’s a vet and an officer and has the “balls”. Of course I don’t have any behind the scenes info. I do hope she gets something other than a show job. She contributed much and it would silence those who claim Trump is just wanting all the sycophants.

om: we’ve had 14 dogs over our marriage and loosing each is very hard. Lost our 17 yr old in June. Get another 2 dogs. We still have 3; 14yr, 4 yr, and 2 yr. They keep us happy and sane in our house.

  21. Speculating, Barry, I’d guess DNI is where Ric Grenell is (re-!-)bound for. Likewise speculating, Kash Patel takes over the FBI and digs in. But we’ll have to wait and see.

  22. The seizures (the raid and rummaging through this guy’s house and grounds by 10 armed agents was reportedly five hours in duration) and “testing” i.e. executions/beheadings of the very popular P’ Nut the squirrel and his buddy Fred the raccoon could not be a better illustration of government heavy handedness and overreach. *

    * See https://www.yahoo.com/news/p-nut-squirrel-grieving-owner-202137367.html and https://nypost.com/2024/11/03/us-news/who-ratted-out-pnut-the-squirrel-owners-have-their-theory-and-its-a-rich-one/

  23. Was the guy by any chance a proud Trump supporter?
(I haven’t really followed this truly bizarre story of govt. overreach down to the last crazy detail…To be sure, it is a hostile Hochul regime…)

  24. he’s written too books about the woke educational viruses and called out the camarilla in the pentagon,

the fact this harmless squirrel could trigger this karen in texas, is everything you need to know about witch hochul

yes gabbard should get a post in the administration veterans affairs,
    pentagon deputy,

  25. I’m actually wondering if this P’nut debacle might not have thrown a few–perhaps more than a few–votes the Republican’s way, because this one incident very neatly encapsulates the whole problem with heavy-handed government overreach, and P’nut and Fred were such sympathetic victims.

  26. Om, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Pets are family members, there is no doubt about that, and family members are hard to lose.

I know they will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

  27. physicsguy, I’ve read that you need to be out of the military for 10 years to be SoD. Tulsi is still in active duty.

  28. Looking at the list of announced appointments and the comments, it seems to me that there are several people who could take on several different offices, so optimizing the talent might be difficult.
I suspect Trump’s Team has a rationale for each choice (at least, I hope they do).
Sometimes it might be what the appointee was willing to accept.
