I know, I know, it’s CNN. However, their reporter David Culver has been reporting on living in Shanghai with the lockdown. Quite frankly it’s been a good series and also deals with the major changes and disappointment he’s experienced in China over the last 3 years. He got out on one of only 2 flights leaving Shanghai yesterday. Clicking on his name in the byline will take you to his previous reports. The horror of what is going on in Shanghai just reminds me of what the Ds would like to do to us.
The video is 6 minutes of useful and interesting information. It turns out that “climate change” did not begin when GM built the first Suburban in the 1930s. The left has turned a natural phenomenon that has been ongoing since the earth started to cool into a “crisis” that they are not going to waste.
The current situation is like when western Europeans figured out solar eclipses. They went to primitive societies and predicted that the sun would disappear, but if they paid off the white folks, they would bring the sun back. And it worked.

When the left switched their environmental mantra from AGW to “Climate Change” I thought it was a joke at first. Who isn’t going to realize that the climate has always been changing; sometimes with ice ages?
The genesis of that switch was two-fold as I understand it. One, the AGW temperature record appeared to stop warming in the early 2000’s for several years. (Oh, horrors!) Two, new climate computer models showed up indicating that AGW could actually (if you believe them) cause severe weather and/or cold snaps. So the new propaganda had to become more inclusive of the range of possible scary weather phenomena.
Have the Watermelons issued an “albedo is racist” denunciation yet? If not, what the hell is taking them so long?
My hosting service has been having trouble off and on today. Hope they straighten it out soon.

Thank you for the explanation– I’ve had trouble getting to your site for over an hour– I keep getting the pouty-faced page icon with the Message of Doom that your site is taking too long to respond and that the connection was reset. Whatever. I just hope this comment will get past the static.
I had trouble connecting here.
There’s a new FoxNews poll, that I couldn’t find online yet.
What’s the most important issue for voters when voting for a congressperson?
The Economy? 26%
Abortion rights? 25%
It’s my understanding that Fox News polls tend to be pretty leftward skewed due to that entire division being helmed by a former Clintonite. Remember the infamous Arizona election night debacle?
It’s fundamentelly off, that’s for for sure.
But the modelers still shout at the clouds and ignore the Orange Massive Body (OMB) in the sky.
I have long wondered how much the Urban Heat Island Effect is creating “ warming”, both in reality and in the immediate effect on weather stations that were once more isolated. Look at Google Earth or some similar satellite pictures. When you are zoomed in to see an area about the size of Eastern Texas on an IPAD type device, you can see the grey cities without zooming further in. That is a lot of concrete, asphalt, roofs, etc, that was not there a century ago. And then add in that in the summer, many of those buildings are expelling heat from the inside via air conditioners and in the winter by some form of heating.
Why is an agency of the federal government distributing ‘safe smoking kits’? (We’ll get to the inclusion of crack pipes in the kits next).
Very informative. I wish that the discrepancy was explained in the two graphs shown at the very end of the ideo. The Milankovitch graph aligned with the actual changes in golbal climate in all but two instances. In those two instances it was way off. Probably an anomaly but one unexplained.
Nonapod,
I tend to think that Arizona election night was a one-off. Though generally I’d agree that FoxNews polls will skew left by as much as a few points. As will any poll with NBC or Gallup or similar involved.
Remember the infamous Arizona election night debacle?
Nonapod:
I sure do. I remember a tweet from Jon Gabriel about the odd pause in return numbers. I recall joking about it here. “The count ain’t done until Biden’s won.”
I was (mostly) joking. I went to bed believing Trump would win.
Something else happened.
The Arizona count is … very odd. Numbers haven’t changed in 90 min. Very unlike past elections. Fox calling the state is bizarre.

Not an elections expert at all (obvs). But in the past, AZ results are updated several times an hour until they’re all done. Been close to 2 hours since new data came in. Results from Maricopa are at 0%. From Pima, 1.2%.
jon baker. Whatever the character of the terrain, it can only absorb/hold/emit what falls on it.
The UHI effect is because energy–even wind and solar–is brought from all over, including millions of years ago–fossil fuels–and concentrated in one place. Naturally, the sensor is nearby, not in the middle of Montana farms or the Wyoming coal fields whence the energy comes.
What may or may not be counted is that the energy from fossil fuels is the result of metabolic use of insolation, changing energy to chemical bonds. It sits there as oil, coal, or gas, at ambient temperatures. For millions of years. It is then released when burned. Ancient heat, stored as chemistry, is re-released as heat, adding to the temperature in addition to whatever IR absorption due to CO2 release.
