If you don’t vote because you’re tired of voting for the lesser of two evils, you get the greater of two evils
A good example of the greater of two evils is this:
I have previously referred to many on the left as “ghouls.” They celebrate the death of those they think are enemies – even someone as relatively non-extreme as Kirk was – and are out to drink their blood. This clip also gives the lie to any idea that women are the kinder gentler sex, something to which I don’t subscribe anyway from what I’ve observed in life.
These podcasters are very popular. According to Google AI they have 1.3 million YouTube subscribers, for example. They’re hardly alone, either. For a long time I’ve noticed even among garden-variety Democrats I know this desire to make political opponents – such as Trump, of course – die. Not just to defeat them, but to kill them. And to laugh about it.
Welch and Sullivan also followed up with a claim that Kirk’s killer was MAGA. Totally untrue, but it’s a common assertion on the left. I’ve often thought that Kirk’s death was a watershed moment that disclosed just how far many seemingly-ordinary Democrats have gone in hatefulness, and it simultaneously unleashed Jew-hating forces on the right (or so-called right) that Kirk had managed to hold in check.
In many places I’m reading that a great many Republicans seem to have sat this election out. In this case, perfect is not only the enemy of the good but the enabler of evil. I can’t imagine that will turn out well.
Today I read this article by Mark Tapscott that says a great many evangelicals stayed home because – wait for it – the GOP wasn’t tough enough on abortion:
As my Washington Stand colleague Joshua Arnold reports, turnout among conservative Evangelical Christians was way down this past Tuesday, representing 22 percent of the voters in 2024 but just 17 percent in 2026. That precipitous decline represents a stark decline, compared to previous elections stretching back to 2008. Conservative Evangelical Christians have been utterly reliable GOP supporters for nearly two decades, so what happened to change this reality?
The Iran War didn’t help, thanks to Trumps’ month-after-month promises that a deal was right around corner, nor did the gas prices that soared after the initial combined U.S./Israeli air attacks in February 2026. …
in 2024, every shred of the pro-life position was removed from the platform by the Trump campaign that controlled the GOP convention. And it was done without a shred of diplomacy, negotiation or compromise. As Family Research Council (FRC) President Tony Perkins described it, “we were railroaded.” …
The Trump administration in 2025 and 2026 had little to say about the pro-life issue other than taking credit for Dobbs. Otherwise, the administration did nothing as the owners, operators and advocates for the blood-soaked abortion mills turned the U.S. Post office, the Internet, and private sector home delivery systems into the crucial conduits for chemically induced abortions.
Other than taking credit for Dobbs? Excuse me? Was Dobbs not a big big deal, something they’d tried to do for a half-century and finally succeeded in doing thanks to Trump’s SCOTUS appointments? Am I missing something here?
Or is Tapscott missing something – such as these actions by the administration, according to Google AI?:
FDA & HHS Re-Evaluation: Under HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and FDA Commissioner Makary, the administration launched a review of FDA regulations surrounding mifepristone. … The DOJ indicated in court filings that the administration’s internal review of mifepristone regulations is expected to take under a year to complete.
Republicans in general have launched many legal challenges to the dissemination of the drug through the mail. Staying home does zero to support those people and those actions and in fact helps elect those who celebrate abortion and want it to be on-demand at any gestational age.
I have never been able to understand the thought processes that would lead someone to stay home to punish those who are generally on that person’s side and enable those who want to destroy whatever policy that person is advocating.

If correct, that decline in the evangelical vote is a big problem. Making the perfect the enemy of the good, or at least the not deeply evil, is not a wise strategy. What’s the alternative to the Republicans? Democrats, who just put abortion up to the moment of natural birth in the Virginia constitution?
> According to Google AI they have 1.3 YouTube subscribers, for example.
I think you’re missing a word in there.
Also, Welch has lost her biggest sponsor (CashApp) over that segment.
On the plus side, the ghouls in that video are suffering large revenue loss as advertisers cancel ad placement with them because of the clip you show.
The David French’s of the evangelical Christian community are a disappointment, at a minimum, willing to let rabid dogs run wild because Trump barks too much or is not a purebred guard dog.
So they punish the country out of pique.
NorthOfTheOneOhOne:
Definitely missing a word! Thanks, will fix.
Insincere apology similar to the one made by the daughter of Spanish and Brazilian immigrants for her “poem” celebrating Charlie Kirk’s murder.
Can David French still be considered a member of the evangelical Christian community?
2 points:
1.Ghoul is a good word for JW.
2. I’m constantly surprised by the narrative that women are morally superior to men. How did that come about?
Kate:
That is a good question, but the Lord only knows. Excommunication is not an available remedy.
The best lack all conviction…
I would say this about those two and the left in general.
Nearly everything the left says is a distortion or a lie to create a perception. Not only does the left think they can have their own truth, but their own reality.
A wee bit off to the side here:
Independent presidential candidate John Anderson in 1980 [chiefly Reagan challenging incumbent Carter] lamented the idea that the electorate was left in the position of having to choose between “the evil of two lessers” (offering himself as the greater, natch).
I have seen videos of the Jennifer Welch types when they are confronted. Basically they can’t point to any real instance of “racism” or “homophobia”, etc. Don’t fall 100% in line with them and you’re guilty and you deserve to be killed, buried, exhumed and shot again. Ironically if you put these types on a polygraph and ask if they are “tolerant”, they would say yes and it would register as them telling the truth.
On a darker path, I’m finding some commenters on other sites who are hinting about using the left’s own tactics. That is, violence. The video of an old man slapping a young TPUSA fellow because he disputed the old man’s views seemed to rile a lot of people up more than usual. If some charismatic person were to strike back against some leftist violently and in a well publicized setting, God only knows what that might lead to. Let’s hope for the best but get ready for the worst. The Left is playing with fire & their opponents own trillions of bullets.
I am resigned to what is obviously, painfully evident: America is an inexorable decline.
Brian E says,
‘He was a murderer from the beginning’
Amen.
Eve was just an idiot, but these two are demons.
