AOC giggles her way to an excuse
Even a writer at CNN is not impressed:
“I have a local city councilman that has this saying: ‘Woke 1 was crazy,’” the New York congresswoman said on ABC’s “This Week,” before laughing.
Ocasio-Cortez, who once supported defunding the police, went on to suggest Covid had expanded the range of acceptable political discourse. But she said that it’s “not rhetoric that we would use today.”
This might be a politically deft explanation for Ocasio-Cortez and her ilk. But it’s a bad one for the body politic. It continues a troubling trend of major politicians asking Americans not to take the things they say — or more specifically, that they once said — at face value.
The article goes on to describe other politicians laughing it off as a weird or crazy time. Well, it was indeed that, but they said what they said and are responsible. And it’s only gotten weirder and crazier.
More on those years, from Wisconsin’s gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong:
“I had some hot takes, some bad takes on Twitter, but when you’re a business owner running a restaurant during Covid, trying to pay bills as a student, you’re putting feelings out there into the world,”?Hong told Politico. “But I’ve evolved, I’ve learned.”
Yes, she’s learned to dissemble in order to fool voters. She wasn’t trying to appeal to voters back then.
But I’ll leave it to Ami Kozak to give you an idea of what AOC would be saying if she were to be honest. I love this guy:

Giggling is a successful strategy. Their voters have the IQ of a kumquat.
Unwillin Bar-Kiss (5:02 pm) said: “Giggling is a successful strategy.”
Exhibit A — our recent vice president (and quasi – border czar) Kamala Harris?
This guy has it right. It’s about power; don’t believe anything they say now.
Isn’t Harris more of a screecher?
(Big tent, I guess…)
If it’s up to the voters to hold people that have a forked tongue accountable, this country is screwed. Bill Clinton survived. Hillary too, mostly. Obama just “denounced” and “evolved”, Joe Biden had a stutter, Kamala Harris the female Arday. Anyway, the reality is your vote is what puts them in office, so they spin the facts liberally with plenty of happy talk, but most seem to answer to elite people with power and money after that.
In California that means the Public Sector Unions, The Teacher’s Union, and to connected Lobbyists.
“Comprende?” LOL
It looks like WI Dems didn’t fall for the “Woke 1.0 was crazy” dodge. Hong lost.
Um, that really should be “cackler”…

“Furious Hasan Piker melts down over Francesca Hong’s loss: ‘Outlaw Thanksgiving and outlaw boomers’”—
In other news, it’s clear that the Democrats have a full-blown, full-bore psycho on their hands. (Or should that be “another” full-blown, full-bore….)

Time to feel sorry for James Carville? For Chuck Schumer? For all those other clowns and miscreants?
Sympathy for the Devils…?
Re: Woke 1
I’m intrigued. So Woke 1 is to be excused, forgiven and forgotten because it was a crazy time. Meanwhile, hinting at a sequel…
Woke 2: Return of the Fabians
The implication AOC tried to promote was that Woke 2 would NOT be as crazy as Woke 1.
That is not the current trajectory of events.
@AesopFan: That is not the current trajectory of events.
Troo, dat. 🙂
When it comes to analytics, AOC is not exactly AOK. (Remember her views on Musk?)
