Is AOC far enough to the left to be the DSA’s pick in 2028?
And does she hate Israel enough? Apparently there is doubt as to the leftist bona fides of the Grand Old Lady of DSA:
The DSA is riding high after the high-profile win of socialist Mamdani in 2025, capped off by a string of primary victories this year that have emboldened its more than 120,000 rank and file members nationwide.
But some DSA leaders are not yet on board the AOC train, and urged caution against getting ahead of the base while still hashing out the big questions regarding their platform, direction and whether her previous stance on Israel should be disqualifying.
The congresswoman previously supported sending defensive aid to Israel, but at a private NYC-DSA forum in April, she vowed to vote against sending any further military aid to the country, including defensive supplies, according to City & State NY.
Can’t have anyone who ever supported Israel, however tepidly. AOC hasn’t moved fast enough for some DSA members.
She’s now thirty-six years old – my, how time flies – and in November of 2028 she’ll be thirty-nine years old. The fresh young thing is being replaced by even fresher and even-more-leftist young things – Mamdani, for example, at 34, although he’s ineligible for the presidency (fortunately) as a non-native-born citizen.
Hard to keep up, things are moving so fast.

AOC – Not leftist enough. That’s a WOW moment.
“Last month, two Democratic congressmen released an open pledge they wanted their fellow Democratic members to sign. It said, ‘We are capitalist, not socialist. We want safety, not lawlessness. We are proud, not ashamed of America. These should not be hard words for a congressional Democrat to sign on to. You know how many did? Eight. Eight out of a 212.” Bill Maher
Well, I guess this election season will have even more stunt candidates than the last one.
I’m looking forward to the return to campaigning of Randee of the Redwoods and Zippy the Pinhead, among others.
Maybe we’ll even see Tarquin Fin-tim-lin-bin-whin-bim-lim-bus-stop-F’tang-F’tang-Olé-Biscuitbarrel!
She’s lasted longer than Robespierre did, so there’s that.
Which party wins 2028 US Presidential Election?
Republican Presidential Nominee 2028
Yes, MAGA GOP will go for Vance in 2028…naturally (they can’t help themselves).
Democratic Presidential Nominee 2028
Rumors still have Bernie Sanders as DEM kingmaker.
Representative Ro Khanna is another name showing up under the Sanders Umbrella but I’m still going with my early prediction of AOC as DEM Presidential nom in 2028. I think she kicks J. D. “Bootlicker” Vance’s buttocks and we’ll hear MAGA GOP weeping for decades…
I wouldn’t count out Mamdani just yet. If a Democrat wins the White House and follows through on her* promiser to pack the Supreme Court, that whole “natural born citizen” thing could be tossed out the window as unconstitutional.
* The chances that the nominee will be a “him” are slight, although whoever the nominee is will undoubtedly proudly announce his or her pronouns at every possible opportunity.
Some day’s it just isn’t worth the effort
to gnaw through the restraints and peek out the window.
I find it interesting the DSA is as powerful as it is, yet at the same time it needs to caucus with the Democrats. It is also interesting that the Democrats allow them in the tent, since they are costing votes for more main-stream Ds and forcing them to alter some D policies. All of which makes me wonder if any D candidate will be able to win the presidency with a large ideological following.
In any case, this should prove to be a gripping general election.
AppleBetty:
LOL.
I can think of no better way for the Democrat party to destroy itself than by allowing itself to become the DSA.
Since the DSA is a declared enemy of the United States of America, demonstrated by their publicly announced party goals, every registered member of the DSA is guilty of treason. In this case, permanent revocation of citizenship and mandatory deportation would be the appropriate and proportionate consequence.
(This might be more appropriate for the “Fraud” post, below, but here goes…)

Prediction: It won’t be Vance. It won’t be AOC. If the Democrats are smart they run someone like Governor Bashear of KY. If the economy is bad enough, he could win. Why complicate matters by picking a lightweight like AOC who is merely a sober version of the CA grinning dunce – Kamala Harris.

ROTFLOL!!!

What? And break their 30-year streak of nominating successively worse Presidential candidates every time? Say it ain’t so.

I think that is a great beginning for a poem or song.
Also: sad but true.
