Transgender dolls for children: what could possibly go wrong?
I consider this child abuse:
“First-of-their-kind” transgender dolls — complete with removable genitalia — will debut in some Minnesota classrooms this fall to kids as young as 4 years old.
The paper dolls, with gender-neutral names like “Sam,” “Rory,” “Avery” and “Parker,” have removable internal and external genitals, along with more than 100 interchangeable pieces of clothing, accessories and hairstyles — like a trans Mr./Mrs. Potato Head.
The goal is for kids to “learn about the different options that exist for who they can be,” according to a therapist at the University of Minnesota Medical School, which spent over half a decade developing the controversial project funded by lefty Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz
The Medical School’s Institute for Sexual and Gender Health research over those six years included paying $20 to $60 for “trans and gender diverse” children and their parents to play with the dolls and “talk about gender and bodies” in groups.
Prototypes of the dolls were shown in a 2024 conference where one named “Sam” can be seen in what appears to be some phase of a gender transition, with a detachable penis off to the side, and a dress and girls’ underwear within reach.
The trans dolls — which promise to “make gender fun” — will be made available to teachers, school counselors, pediatricians and mental health providers …
This is terrible on so many levels. From the article, it seems they will be used with children who already “identify” as trans. But any child young enough to be playing with dolls is too young to be on such a track, and certainly it’s not the school that should be dealing with fostering this.
These dolls are wrong wrong wrong; attempting to become trans is not a game. So-called “bottom” surgery is so far from being a game that it is an obscenity to promote it or even visualize it in this way – for children, with dolls. It is a profoundly serious and disfiguring surgery with lifelong effects and dangers, and it is irreversible. It should never be marketed to children in any way or made into a game using a paper doll with easily detachable genitalia. There is no analogy to bottom surgery or to what human beings who undergo it experience.
And there’s also the problem of mission creep. Do we really think these dolls will be limited to children already saying they are trans? I very much doubt it; that’s not the way such things tend to work. These dolls should absolutely never be shown to children in general. Talk about fostering a little old-fashioned castration anxiety – not to mention just plain old anxiety and confusion of all kinds.
But sowing that sort of confusion is the point, isn’t it?

I wrote to co-founder Prof. Dianne Berg, who created the MyGender Dolls and “instructional” materials. She says they are only meant to reassure children, like young girls anxious that “I’m not a ‘real’ boy because I don’t have those private parts,” and to provide therapists with tools that counter “shame-inducing societal messages.

This is child abuse. You should focus on encouraging children to accept the reality of their born sex. You are grooming susceptible children into a fantasy that will eventually destroy their lives. Certainly you are intelligent enough to realize that this. Stop this charade now. Be an advocate for children’s mental health. Encourage confused children to accept their natural sex.

I always wonder what the thought process of libs are on this issue? Why don’t they want to protect kids? Don’t they know that kids are immature? Don’t they realize the long-term consequences of being wrong about this? WTF is wrong with these people?

Actually, we don’t even worry about it tomorrow. Truth is malleable as to both time and space, and the Dem voter will align with whatever the idea providers provide tomorrow.
When I testified before the Nebraska Unicameral a few years back, I said that we – as a civilized society – agreed that it was wrong to perform medical experiments on people. I was referring to the medical experiments that the Nazis did.
I also said I was educated by the Society of Jesus. And proud to say that.
Why can’t the Left see that this is nearly the same thing as what the Nazis did?
When Dr. Jeffery Gold was up for being named the President of the entire University of Nebraska system, I called him out on this issue in front of the Board of Regents. He was shocked that I had the courage to confront him.
I was never prouder to be a Creighton grad than I was on that day. Immoral barbarians are at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Unethical too.
GOP should get a list of Dem voters with kids and start mailing a message of this crap…push this info to Dem parents…?!?!

Don’t look to the Lutherans (ELCA) to oppose this. The ELCA has been theologically compromised since its inception. My family and I were members for a decade or so in the late 80s-early 90s. It seemed more like a leftist political movement than anything.

But how would we know?
A trans rooster might try to occupy a nesting spot in the hen house? But he can’t produce eggs since he lacks the required biology; and he was presumably never visited by a fully male rooster ahead of time, either. Would the real hens force him out?
Other scenarios can be envisioned, but I would agree they would be rare and unlikely for the most part.
I suppose, comparable to those cases where human children/teens are confused about their sexuality while they are on the path/process of recognizing that they are in fact homosexual; there could be a few examples in the natural world of homosexual animals being confused in a similar way???
