The DSA lets us know its plans
At least some DSA members have pulled the mask off. One of those people is DSA Co-Chair Megan Romer, whom we can assume speaks for the group and not just for herself. They must have decided that it’s time.
Watch for yourself – it’s only about seven minutes long:
She’s such a chipper, happy warrior. She’s got the answers, too: the reason people come here from other countries that are awful is that we have “destabilized” those countries. Once the DSA candidates are elected, we won’t be a destabilizing force in the world, and people won’t be motivated to flee their home countries and come here. She’s positing a kind of “end of history,” in which the DSA’s taking power would function as a sort of Second Coming, ushering an age in which the lion will lie down with the lamb and we won’t have to enforce our immigration laws because all places on earth will be fine – or at least, stable, their natural state before we intervened.
Oh, and as for criminals, it’s pretty much the same thing. With the DSA in charge and income inequality and all those other awful things corrected and all the various sorts of social justice achieved, the number of violent criminals will be almost nonexistent and we won’t need prisons as we know them anymore.
The cult aspects of leftism are very much in evidence here, including her calm and smiling demeanor.
NOTE: I was curious to learn how old Romer is, and a bit of her background. This site says she is supposedly forty-three years old, and that her background prior to her DSA involvement (which began in 2018) was as “a freelance writer covering music, arts, and travel, and … editor in chief and publisher at Arioso Press, a small independent publishing operation.” That seems about right.
I receive the daily newsletter by Abe Greenwald of Commentary magazine. His newsletter two days ago was especially insightful. He wrote of the “misery strategy” partly in response to Romer’s appearance on Fox News.
Romer smirked and giggled while copping to each one, as if it’s only common sense to want to destroy the country.
What I found more interesting about the segment was something Romer was quoted as saying about the DSA’s methods for attaining power. “We will win by making conditions so intolerable to the ruling class that they would rather give in to our demands than live with the disturbance we cause,” she said. “Until we are able to fully seize power ourselves.”
So the plan is to make people so miserable that they’ll accede to the DSA’s agenda against their will. In other words, compulsion.
Greenwald goes on to write “You know who else does things that way? Terrorists. The purpose of terrorism is to hurt the enemy until he submits”.
We see this with Mamdani. He’s not trying to make life better for New Yorkers. He’s making life intolerable so people give in to the demands of the far Left.
And of course there won’t be any crimes of violence because everyone will be happy, and no crimes of a sexual or coercive nature because everyone will be totally fu….

An “inconvenient truth” is that the ruling class already has fully seized power. And just as Romer’s more ruthless “fellow travelers” would not hesitate to slaughter the ‘evil ruling class’, so too does the ruling class contain its ruthless members and, they already have full control of the might & power of the State.

Seems to me getting rid of the senate would trigger most states, especially the smaller ones, to leave the union, since their representation will mostly disappear. And having that representation in the senate was one of the reasons they agreed to join the union in the first place.
As for abolishing the police, as Glenn Reynolds says the police pretty much exist to protect the criminals, because without police every thief will be killed.
Blue states will not leave the Union. The Union is perpetual. The civil war will end the left. The entire purpose of the civil war will be to kill these assholes.
None of the interviewers ask these clowns how they are going to do this. Just get elected ? Really? Just get elected and abolish the constitution? Really?
The DSA punk running for state rep here has NO endorsements, whereas his main opponent is endorsed by Washington State Labor Council, Washington Education Association, National Women’s Political Caucus, Twin Harbors Labor Council, Pulp and Paperworkers Union, Painters and Allied Trades Union, Superintendent of Public Instruction, plus mayor of Port Townsend and other politicians.

Wow. She hasn’t read much history. Or maybe has read but doesn’t understand.
My wife had a man working for her who was in his 70’s (came of age in the 60’s), with a history degree from UC Berkeley and draft dodger. Hyper liberal and amazingly ignorant about history.
My take is they’re just ignoramuses about themselves, about what motivates human beings, and thus interpret history like this lady.
This phenomenon is truly a reflection of something very wrong in our society.
