Trump’s speech this evening — 27 Comments

  1. I see ABC and NBC are not going to carry the speech. If he gets into election fraud, and that seems to be part of what he is going to say, democrats will either ignore it, or dismiss it. They can’t give any credence to the idea that elections are manipulated, that might lead to actual reform.

  2. Re Patrick …because ballot stuffing in cities to turn statewide and national elections is integral part of Dem business planning. They need the conspiracy of silence to continue.

  3. you’ve all seen Sarah Hoyt’s shocked face. Now behold my cynical face.
    Will anyone be prosecuted?

  4. I saw that the networks will give a summary – I’m sure it will to be “fair and balanced”, yeh right!

Trump is releasing documents that were in those hidden burn bags. That is a good thing.

  5. Thanks, Liz, for the links. I was hoping he had a link to a doc listing the reporters taking money from foreign countries for critical articles. I could have sworn they were true believers and doing it gratis.

  6. CNN also refused to carry his address? I can sort of get the 3 networks, they lose a little bit of revenue, but CNN is supposedly a news channel and a prime time presidential address is certainly news. That smells of censorship.

  7. Here’s an interesting one (especially for those who are partial to Stoicism):

“American Naval Academy Cadets Prepare For War With Stoic Philosophy”—
    https://www.zerohedge.com/political/american-naval-academy-cadets-prepare-war-stoic-philosophy

+ Bonus (WRT the regional chessboard):

“Iran Tells Houthis To Close Red Sea Energy Chokepoint If Trump Bombs Power Grid”—

  8. Now we can “finally” understand what Molly Ball REALLY meant when she oh-so-helpfully informed the nation that the Democrats “FORTIFIED” (heh) the 2020 Presidential election.

    Great!

    OK.
Now let’s do that ABSOLUTELY MASTERFUL January 6th Democratic Party Op.

And Russiagate (in blazing technicolor), why not?

    What’s that ye’ say?
    No one’s interested?

    Well, that could be, actually.
Old news, they’ll claim, with a disparaging sneer.

Hold on. Maybe the Iranians might be interested… the Chinese?
Lula? Putin? Certain Middle East leaders?
The list could be a long one….

Looks like the Democrats may well have to resort to “The Samson Option”.

To be sure, they started years ago….
    (“Transformation”, he said.
    “Fundamental Transformation”(TM)….)

Goes without saying to fasten one’s seatbelt.

  9. “Wow!” “F***n YES!” My shoutout at the tube repeatedly.

I think this really was the speech I’ve wanted to hear since 2020.

Reaction on CNN, Sue Gordon (former Deputy Director of Nat’l InteI circa late 2019), is arguing nothing new to see from Trump — foreign actors were trying to undermine our democracy years before Trump. As though lumping general threats compared to massive data breaches were the same things.

She also asserts — WITHOUT ANY EVIDENCE — that Trump’s speech is dangerous! On MSNow, I caught D Sen. Whitehouse asserting that he’s “now embarrassed to be an American.” Tat’s fair. Because I am embarrassed that the Dim from RI is an American in high office.

Sue Gordon calls the problems of foreign interference have long been reported. I shout “F- – – NO, LIAR!”

You simply cannot whitewash the Russia Conspiracy years as honest reporting, for example. And Trump says he has evidence of CCP buying journalists to propagandize against the duly elected President. What if this is really true?

MSNow again: “Trump dismantles election safeguards.” Claimed by the black Senator from GA? I’m unfamiliar with him.

At 10PM Lawrence O’Donnell calls Trump “demented” because he said “Deeply sick people…”, a line early in his speech that reveals his animus against trans folks, according to him. I’m sure I missed his extremist (malicious?) misreading.

That’s all I can now report.

“An utterly ridiculous speech, start to end.” Says MSNow’s O’Donnell.

Contra to Paul Sperry (See my afternoon post in the Trump Speech thread earlier today), Trump’s not waiting until Friday to share 4-5 tranches of recently declassified documents. He announced he’s putting them online now.

I bet they reinforce important parts from the Gateway pundit’s
disclosure to day of a 800 page report. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/07/massive-election-corruption-report-search-warrant-investigation-lists/

TDS is reaching psycho levels on MSNow, now. These Hate America Firsters cannot hate us enough.

  10. The last few years shows how gullible – at best – your run of a mill ” Progressive” is.

    Examples :
    1. In a few short years they became convinced that ” trans women are women” with religious zealousness.
    2. They can believe Russia interferes with elections but China never would.
    3. They don’t see the danger of mass Muslim migration into the West.
    4. They claim they support ” Women’s Rights” while promoting Gender Ideology and Mass Muslim migration..
    5. They claim that legal minorities do not have government IDs.

  11. ABSOLUTELY Jon Baker.
But can contradictions ever supersede TDS? It’s been a long time going mania.

Clearly, the info-launch by Team Trumps is essential to prep the battlespace.

Speaking of Info, a thread at Instapundit is a very long reaction to this deep dive speech. Call it, of interest: https://instapundit.com/810696/#disqus_thread

  12. I wonder if NBC, ABC, MSNOW, CNN et al have a right to White House press credentials?
I would love to see that tested.
If nothing else, Trump should put a moratorium on any administration official speaking to them; not even good morning. That prohibition should especially apply to their Sunday gabfests. Let them talk to themselves.

  13. Thanks for the summary TJ, confirms pretty much what I thought, where democrats, in this case the media, would try to discredit what was said.

  14. I really wish that Trump would embrace the Disney strategy of underpromising and overdelivering. I voted for Trump thrice, but I’m worn out by his bombastic promises followed by interesting, but not earth-shattering information. You can only cry wolf so many times.

  15. This is a three step process:

    (1) What, precisely, is Trump alleging.

    (2) Does the evidence support the allegations?

    (3) Was the proven activity sufficient to change the result of the 2020 election?

That’s really all there is to it. The problem is that I can’t find any analysis anywhere that hits those points in a Joe Friday type of way. Trumper sources are hyping this the same way the Dems hyped “Russia, Russia, Russia” in 2017. Pretty much everyone else is dismissing his speech out of hand.

Hard Truth: Donald Trump and his baggage were never going to be able to make meaningful progress on election integrity. If the GOP wanted a world-class whiner about election integrity, they picked the right guy. If the actually wanted to accomplish something, well, this ain’t it.

  16. Bauxite asserts “ Hard Truth: Donald Trump and his baggage were never going to be able to make meaningful progress on election integrity.”

Actually, no. That hard truth is looking soft. I didn’t hit the link, but I saw a headline reading Rs “have the votes to pass the SAVE America Act with 50+VP Vance, using recission.”

This avoids nuking the filibuster rule, of course.

  17. Perhaps the question ought to be:
“WHY were ‘Donald Trump and his baggage…never going to be able to make meaningful progress on election integrity.’”

  18. TJ – You remind me of the Democrats in 2016 who managed to convince themselves that Obama could install Garland on the Supreme Court without the Senate if only he wanted it hard enough.

    They had a theory too.

  19. I am so old that I can remember back to 2025, when good people were saying “I am tired of so much winning”.
Well, they have a respite now.

  20. Bauxite misses the point (perhaps deliberately). Trump said nothing about changing the results of the 2020 election. He was explicitly laying out the basis for why we need to get serious about protecting our elections. The Chinese hacked 200 MILLION voters records, which enable all sorts of mischief, let alone the blue states deliberately making it easy or non citizens to vote.

He wants the Save America Act passed to make it much harder to cheat. Are you against that Bauxite??

  21. I say that election reform is as big an issue as civil rights. It’s not a one and done proposition. It will be a long hard fight against entreched opposition. There will be setbacks.

    Eyes on the prize!

    We shall overcome!

  22. And then there’s the elections in California that drag on and on inspiring zero confidence that they are legit.
