I haven’t looked at her math tutorials but her deaf autistic math orientation is often very interesting.
Looks like Starmer resigned, finally. Too bad there isn’t a new election.
Columbia voted for a Law & Order new President—since USAID has been defunded, so it doesn’t support woke folk in elections, 7 new Latin American countries have new conservative law&order leaders.
Today is the anniversary of the start of Operation Barbarossa.
Just in case any of you are keeping track.
It seemed like a good idea at the time ….
Operation Barbarossa: talk about launching a circular-running torpedo! Seldom have two tyrannies deserved each other’s embrace more richly!
With the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, I thought it would be worthwhile to put together a list of books and movies that do a particularly good job of illuminating American history…also, some of the key inventions and infrastructure projects and their impact.
This will be a multi-post series…I just put up the first post, which is an eclectic list of books about and/or written during the era up to 1860.
Within hours of Mr. Vance’s blunt message to Israel on Thursday, Hezbollah killed four Israeli troops. This guaranteed a retaliation, which Tehran then took as a pretext to postpone talks and threaten the Strait.
Iran orchestrates these escalations to waste time, divide the U.S. and Israel, gain leverage and win immunity for its proxies. While Mr. Trump claims the regime’s new leaders are “far less radicalized,” and Mr. Vance says they want to “turn over a new leaf,” this seems like the same old Iranian regime we know and don’t love.
Gotta luv them.
I made it!
Report on my leftist friends: they are obsessed with the Reflecting pool and algae growth there. They see it as evidence of what an idiot Trump is and how it’s all his fault. Interesting they are very silent on Iran, oil prices. etc.
I think Schlichter sees where we are clearly.
So leftists are outraged that algae grows in a shallow pond in the heat of summer. Duh.
The very interesting and learned writer and analyst Peter Levenda points out this MacArthur quote in his book, “Sinister Forces: A Grimoire of American Political Witchcraft: Book One: The Nine,” p.167.
(The whole UFO/NHI phenomenon brings to mind Ephesians 16:12–)
“Our contest is not against flesh and blood, but against powers, against principalities, against the world-rulers of this present darkness, against spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places.”
Looks like General MacArthur might have been privy to something way back then–
In the midst of his famous “Duty, Honor, and Country” speech on May 12, 1962 to West Point Cadets, MacArthur made this rather odd detour to talk about the coming new age, which science is presenting, and of a united human race fighting sinister forces, apparently somewhere out in the galaxy–
“We deal now, not with things of this world alone, but with the illimitable distances and as yet unfathomed mysteries of the universe…Of ultimate conflict between a united human race and the sinister forces of some other planetary galaxy; of such dreams and fantasies as to make life the most exciting of all times. And through all this welter of change and development your mission remains fixed, determined, inviolable. It is to win our wars.”*
Haven’t algae-loving leftists been injecting the stuff as sabotage into the reflecting pool? So it seems, anyhow, so how surprised? Yeah. Not surprised.
”Report on my leftist friends: they are obsessed with the Reflecting pool and algae growth there.”
No further evidence that the Democratic Party has devolved into a cult is needed when pro-algae demonstrators are protesting the removal of algae from a pool, party activists are vandalizing pools and fountains because they look too nice, and rank-and-file members are cheering on all of the destruction. I’ve been watching this devolution for decades, yet I still can’t fathom it. How is the absurdity of it all not blindingly obvious to the participants and the Democrat observers?
Algae did not exist before January 2025. It is not one of the earliest forms of plant life on Earth. OMB x 11.
Risible, all of them, but still dangerous.
I just put up this post on the subject of the Reflecting Pool algae. Enjoy.
Should we be oppressing Algae-Americans?
Tucker Carlson says he’s done with the GOP. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Tucker.
physicsguy: Yes Schlichter’s piece is very real politik. Not wonderful but it all rings true. In the Middle East you rarely have the luxury of a good choice and a bad choice, only a bad choice and a worse choice.
What will the GOP and MAGA do without the Vladdy-phillic, Nazi-loving, Jew- and Israel-hating “adults” who follow Carlson? The ones who aren’t already Democrats?
He turned into quite the loathsome piece of work.
Speaking of Summer…it’s doom gloom and hell’s in the room time in Europe again.
Has Dr. Jill finished the autopsy of the reflecting pool duckling yet?

Yep. I’ve been afraid since the first shot was fired that it would end up being a ‘1 out of 3 ain’t bad’ short-term result.
I say short-term because obviously nothing is settled either way yet.
But politics is real, geography is real, and public opinion is real. It’s futile to try to ignore them. To really achieve our goals completely would almost surely require boots on the ground, and right now America is just not willing to do that.

We got A/C 2 years ago, and really like it again on these hot summer days. Most Slovaks still don’t have it.
Great note on honor vs dignity culture, with some empathy from Holly:
