My lefty friends are having heart attacks and strokes due to the DOJ finding on Trump and the setting up of the 1.8B fund. They claim all the J6ers are going to become millionaires.
The Babylon Bee is in error to refer to “accomplishing nothing.” They don’t often make mistakes like that.
Yes well… We won’t know for a while if we’ve accomplished nothing in Iran, but the Strait of Hormuz situation is definitely a train wreck at this point. With regard to the Strait, was Trump sold a bill of goods by his military advisors?

The thing is that their audience probably sees it that way, or many do.
Americans are and have always been impatient with foreign wars. They prefer to avoid them, and if they’re necessary, they want it hard, fast, ruthless, and over quickly and with a clearcut outcome. Get in, do the job, and get out.
They hate this sort of ‘not quite winning, not losing, gradually getting somewhere’ sort of situation, where every move has to be carefully calculated and it just goes on and on.
This is a problem because most wars are like that. The WW II clear-cut outcome type is the exception.
Trump can’t afford to ignore the domestic politics of this.
Strait of Hormuz situation is definitely a train wreck at this point
Does it matter? I have the sense that the Trump administration is in no rush to open it up. That is a choice, not an accident.
OK. “The Family Lefevre” is a family of two parents and six children. They are Catholic and they sing sacred music.
This song is the Latin “Ubi Caritas” [“Where Charity”], based on a Gregorian chant and often performed on Maundy Thursday (the day before Good Friday). It has been modernized and is popular these days in Catholic and Anglican/Episcopal circles.
The Lefevres do a beautiful job on this version written by a Norwegian,
Ola Gjeilo, born 1978. Though it’s not the “Ubi Caritas” I learned.
Because people forget Iranian Twelvers with nukes would be a very bad thing. No attention span, ADHD.
Our operations against the Iranian regime are not like going out in the woods with a gun and shooting a few squirrels. Iran is arguably a more imminent existential threat than the Axis was during WWII, with nuclear, terrorist, cyber, biological, drones and other threats now in the mix.
One of Sean Hannity’s recurring statements used to be “It’s a matter of if, not when, sleeper cells will attack the USA.” I haven’t heard him say that since we attacked Iran on February 28. Iran has threatened to open a new front in the war with new weapons if we attack them again. I wonder what they mean by that….
During WWII the country and the media mostly supported the war. There was rationing and shortages. Today most of the media and a large chunk of the country do not support our Commander in Chief and his policies. What could go wrong?
It is all Fundamentally Transform the country for the left/Democrats. Whatever that takes.
Are we no longer escorting ships through the Strait? We are certainly still enforcing the blockade. We could solve this quickly by blasting all the Iranian oil exporting and transit locations in pieces. The question is whether that’s the best option.
Project Freedom is still on pause Kate. I don’t know why with any confidence, but suspect it’s mostly to do with tweeking or injuring fickle Euro allies among others. But again, that’s just my guess.
Kind of a cost-benefit trade-off thing, where we pay the cost and they benefit, so why bother?
A little over a week till the anniversary of the fall of Constantinople. One of those ” turning points” in history – though somewhat symbolic since the Byzantines has been in decline for quiet a while. Never recovered from the Western Crusaders attack . ” Christian” vs ” Christian” and the Muslims end up winning.
I’ve been planning some kind of short text message for a few people I txt from the point of view of the people sheltering in the Hagia Sophia when the walls fell. Multiple generations of Christians going to that church and then the Muslims kill, rape , enslave them. A family could identify as Christian for 30 generations and next gets raised Muslim – for generations…there are eternal spiritual consequences to these things for multitudes of people.
HC68,
Exactly. If Trump blows through his “deadline” of this weekend yet again, to me it will just show how the Iranians are playing him. Again, watch the video huxley linked a few days ago.
I know, I know, trust what is happening behind the scenes, but hard to do after watching that video. Their goal is to simply survive, BAMN.
Yeah, this native is restless.

Over three decades later, we are committed to holding those accountable for the murders of four brave Americans: Carlos Costa, Armando Alejandre Jr., Mario de la Peña, and Pablo Morales. For the first time in nearly 70 years, senior leadership of the Cuban regime has been charged in the United States for alleged acts of violence resulting in the deaths of American citizens. @POTUS and this @TheJusticeDept are committed to restoring a simple principle: if you kill Americans, we will pursue you. No matter who you are. No matter what title you hold.
@physicsguy: If Trump blows through his “deadline” of this weekend yet again, to me it will just show how the Iranians are playing him. Again, watch the video huxley linked a few days ago.
That video was by Goldie Ghamari, whose family fled Iran for Canada when she was a child. Her latest video:
She argues that three things are now in place which make military escalation likely:
* Trump’s conditions are not met
* Military build-up is complete. (The US and Israel have been busy during the ceasefire.)
* Trump is back from China.
I would add that the recent negotiations appear to be more of the usual Iranian delaying tactics.
Ghamari makes no firm predictions, but I consider military action imminent. Trump has given the Iranians more than enough chances and he needs to resolve Iran soon so Hormuz is open, gas prices start coming down and Republicans can start focusing on the midterms.
About trying to get a “deal” with Iran…
Who exactly would the “deal” be with? What about the other 4 or 5 interests?
Once we have a deal with one interest, aren’t the others still free to say and do anything? Who’s going to stop them? Select one: Us / Nobody
While there is a deal, aren’t we constrained from taking action without being accused of breaking it? Won’t this be a trap of our own devising?
And we are already conceding that a deal would involve giving the Iranians access to considerable sanctioned funds?
I see a future where we delude ourselves that a piece of paper means something, while they know it means nothing!
What the hell is going on here? Is Trump trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? Sure looks like it!!
BREAKING! JUST IN: Minnesota fraudster names Ilhan Omar in SHOCKING claim – Video
SD, unfortunately, the Minnesota fraudster is a convicted liar, so there will have to be more than just her word to bring down Omar.
“The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch”?
After several years filled with innumerable tests—many dozen—by now, perhaps hundreds–of rockets fired, multiple types of lasers shot up into the sky, unmarked Military model helicopters sometimes passing overhead, observing them, drone experiments and GPS anomalies, the “hitchhiker effect,” close and continuous observation of the area’s radiation levels and other electromagnetic fields, observation posts and high speed cameras observing everything, excavations and strange materials found—with hints of some large ovoid object underground, UAPs flying by and, once, even into and out of the Mesa, cattle mutilations, an apparent cryptoid corpse, strange radiation spikes and illnesses, film of a ground level orb, etc., etc., etc.
You’d think that, by now, the research team—putting all these things together–would have been able to come up with some sort of overarching theory to tie it all together but, no, they just keep piling on more tests, and stringing us along.
The answer is always illusive, just out of reach.
We’ve walked into a bar where the sign on the wall promises, “Free beer tomorrow.”
For those of you who speak Spanish, Secretary of State Marco Rubio addresses the Cuban people in Spanish. He speaks well with no accent. Well, a little bit of a Cuban accent to my Mexican Spanish ear. But perfectly understandable. The speech is clear showing the Cuban people how they are being robbed by the gangsters in their government. He says the United States government is going to send them $100 million in aid but to be distributed by a trustworthy agency like the Catholic Church.
As in Iran, the Cuban people are not armed, and the government has all the weapons. Let’s hope the President and the secretary of state figure out a way to bring down the Cuban government without a lot of bloodshed.
It seems to me that one issue, which I presume our Iranian War planners have considered, is how to limit collateral damage to infrastructure, so that the liberated Iranians’ country is not trashed more than is necessary.
I imagine that we are aiming to limit human collateral damage, as well.
Let’s face it, the Iranians in charge will bob and weave, get close and then pull back, but they will never actually give up their nuclear ambitions, or their nuclear materials.
These things nuclear are really the only major leverage they have and, without them–their military and navy now decimated–they are pretty much a minor power.
Quit playing around.
