Marc Elias, insurrectionist
Marc Elias isn’t happy about not getting his way in Virginia.
I’ve written about Elias before – see this post, for example, where I offer a quote from this Town Hall article (from 2022, entitled “The Left Dominates the Legal System, and They’re Taking Down GOP Election Attorneys en Masse”):
The left has developed a powerfully coordinated legal election effort under the leadership of left-wing lawyer Marc Elias. In recent years, he has successfully brought together a coalition of left-wing nonprofit groups to work in conjunction with each other on elections. It’s a brilliant plan considering the left now dominates much of the legal system to give him victories; in urban areas they have more judgeships, they dominate state bars which are responsible for attorney discipline, and they run the biggest, most powerful law firms.
Elias may have expected the Demopcrats to win in the Virginia Supreme Court, and he’s hopping mad that it didn’t happen. Therefore we have this:
Elias responded to the ruling by invoking language from the Virginia Constitution itself. Not to make a legal argument, but to suggest that the current Virginia government has lost its legitimacy and therefore can and should be abolished.
Here’s what Elias’ wrote:
VA Const.
"whenever any government shall be found inadequate or contrary to these purposes, a majority of the community hath an indubitable, inalienable, and indefeasible right to reform, alter, or abolish it, in such manner as shall be judged most conducive to the public weal." pic.twitter.com/JRKMRqMQzF

Defending “our democracy.”
NOTE: Take a look at the error made by the office of Virginia AG Jay Jones (remember him? the guy who wanted to kill Republicans?) in its appeal filing.

If he is unhappy with the Supreme Court decision, he has no idea how unhappy he would be if the people decide to dissolve the current Virginia government. He might consider the 2% majority really did come about through heavy marketing and confusing ballot language. I don’t think dissolution would go as well for the Democrats.
Send Marc Elias to North Korea for re-education. 25 years should do nicely.
I am waiting for a indictment for Mark for the Coup D’etat
Not holding my breath though
Ever the optimist, I read this is as a sign of unvarnished terror on the part of the Democrat Party.
Marc Elias, another example of a man who, in his zealotry, would cut down all the laws to get after the MAGA ‘demons’.
Another Robespierre, courting the same fate.
From the Free Beacon article, Jason Miyares, the previous AG, says, “Good News: Dems managed to spell Virginia correctly. Bad News: They sent their emergency application to SCOTUS to the wrong court. Baby steps.”
Getting rid of the current governor, Lt. governor, and AG would be good
How fortunate we are to have the democrats protecting and preserving democracy.
And don’t bother reminding them that it’s a constitutional republic.
Mark Elias was neck deep in the Coup D’etat, shame he won’t ever be charged for it.
Virginia opened acan of worms they now wish they never did.
Not letting Trump win in 2020 should be another in they ran his administration from the inside, and would have again.
One stage thinking as usual from Marxists, here’s what we will do, what could go wrong no one ever thinks.
It’s a manifestation of the culture and psychology of the Democratic Party in our time – rage that there is anything that might thwart them. Either this attitude recedes or we are in for what the Chinese call ‘interesting times’.
