Rule, Britannia! Britannia rule the …
… rule the – what?
Certainly not the waves:
“Currently the Royal Navy has 63 commissioned ships. But of this number only 25 are really fighting ships. That is submarines, aircraft carriers, destroyers and frigates. The balance are support patrol and survey vessels which, though armed, are not true fighting warships.”
“Britain is of course involved with a variety of defense tasks worldwide. But due to endless defense cuts, the Navy is hard-pressed to fulfill them. So of the fighting ships in 2026, Britain possesses ten submarines, two aircraft carriers, six destroyers, and seven frigates.”
“Such a small fleet might be sufficient for a small nation engaged only in self-defense. But Britain still has some 15 overseas territories, many of which, like the Falkland Islands, require naval protection.”
Much more at the link.
I used the song “Rule, Britannia!” in the title of this post. Then I became curious to see the rest of the words. First, the chorus, which is repeated many times:
Rule Britannia!
Britannia rule the waves
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves
Some of the verses minus the chorus:
… till more majestic shalt thou rise
More dreadful from each foreign stroke
More dreadful from each foreign stoke
As the loud blast that tears the skies
Serves but to root thy native oak …Thee haughty tyrants ne’er shall tame
All their attempts to bend thee down
All their, all their attempts to bend thee down
Will but arouse thy generous flame
To work their woe, and thy renown.
Well, what can you say? It was written in 1740.

Dr Mark Feldon the shocking state of Brittany’s navy.
Often say lived there care of ghe USAF for 2 years so have a affinity for England.
Of course when they join the Caliphate it will be better if 0 ships are left.
For a nation that took one of the greatest leaders who ever lived (WC) and stood up to Hitler off their coinage, I’m not surprised.
We have these mighty ships but we allow drones to operate over American airspace for hours without shooting them down? The General running Barksdale ought to be drummed out of service for dereliction of duty for allowing drones to operate over Barksdale for so long unless he was undef orders to allow it for study. Somebody needs fired!
I include our fellow Republicans in this. The people running this country have not learned from Pearl Harbor or 9-11.

She is a completely AI created entity who advocates for immigrants to return to their own countries. It started in England and has spread rapidly

Jon baker:
You might consider the 72 hour rule before you get out the rope and start looking for a convenient tree.
Once we have One World Governance, national navies will be unneeded. The UK is just leading the way, don’t you know?
Most of the Frigates can’t go to Sea. Plus one of the Aircraft Carriers can’t either. Not sure about the other one, but since France sent it’s AC to protected British interests in the Med, I doubt it too can put to Sea. I believe several of the Destroyers are also out of commission. What a terrible thing to have happened to the Royal Navy.
do not laugh at the small size of the UK Navy. Our US Navy has fewer ships than it did in 1938. I am not comforted that our digital warships are somehow more able to take up this slack by virtue of their digital wizardry. A ship is a ship, regardless of its above-water assets.
I’ll never forget James Garner’s line to Julie Andrews, when she finally surrendered to his advances:
“Britannia waives the rules!”

This British military challenge, known for its varied terrain and harsh weather, pushes participants to their limits. It’s a true fitness test for those aiming to join the elite forces
The British Empire began to form in the late 16th and early 17th 18th 19th 20th 21th 22th ESC centuries as England established overseas colonies and trading posts in the Americas, Africa, and European & Asia
Contrary to the song from the eighteenth century, Britons are now becoming an oppressed minority in their own land. My ancestors made the right call when they left.
