Ceasefire in Iran? — 16 Comments

  1. Looking at the times in both those posts, maybe the Iranian’s clocks are not in sync?
Or maybe they just counted the time of launching (before the deadline) not landing (after).

Or maybe they just cheated, as usual.

But there appears to be some confusion about whether there actually IS a ceasefire.

Or maybe the Mullah is still trying to convince
the people he is in control.
Because he is very close to losing it.

  2. It appears there is a cease fire and those final missile may have been launched before the deadline, but due to flight time landed after the deadline.

  3. Don’t trust Iran. They will use this time to regroup, rearm, and refinance terrorist. Iran kind of put Trump between a rock and a hard place. If doesn’t support a cease fire the more Dems and some Rep will attack him, if he does support it, then it will undercut him down the line when Iran starts being bad again.

  4. I think the rope-a-dope is still in play when it comes to President Trump. He knows the war isn’t over. His Truth Social posts are how he manipulates the press. What is he giving them? Irrational hope and enthusiasm. Is that how Donald Trump made his money? Made all his deals? By being completely open about his goals all the time?

Plus, he knows the media will take his words as what he absolutely believes, so he can use that at will to fool them over and over. He’s Lucy to their Charlie Brown. They always think this will be the time he won’t pull the football away.

He’s playing them. He’s also playing those people in the coalition who are summer soldiers. They’re all looking through his words for confirmation they’re right or that he’s wrong. He’s giving people spectacle, which is what they want, although they’d never admit it. But what’s really going on is something only he and his inner circle know.

Evidence: what was real the last time it seemed like he and Bibi were on the outs? Now he’s scolding the Israelis again. Does he mean it? Or does he want certain people to think he means it?

  5. I suppose the Houthis will be lobbing missiles at Israel again, just to keep the Arrow III batteries on their toes, you know. On the chance Iran seeks to ship or fly more missile supplies into Yemen, it might not be a wasted effort to sink ships carrying those before they arrive. Just sayin.

  6. I can’t believe that Iran violated a ceasefire agreement! What a shock!

Seriously though, the entire premise of the Iranian regime’s rulership is based around God’s will as they see it. They can’t back down without first lashing out a bit (however ultimately futile it will be). Their core religious doctrine allows them to lie, dissemble, and equivocate when facing a more powerful enemy while working against them behind the scenes until they gain enough power to again fight back. Doubtless they’re still holding out hope that they can maintain control of Iran’s populace and reach some sort of agreement that will allow them to surreptitiously slowly rebuild their nuclear capabilities. In their minds such an outcome is only a setback timewise.

  7. Iranian government full of slow learners, apparently. But that’s also something businessmen understand: you have just about closed the deal, and then the other guy makes an unreasonable last minute demand. So do you tank the whole deal and start over, or do you let him have whatever it is. Warren Buffet was notorious for this.

What Iran has done with its late hits is somewhat analogous, but they’re dealing with someone who expects that sort of thing and has done it himself.

If there’s anything we all should have learned this week it’s that none of us have the full picture, nor any good feeling for what Trump will or won’t do.

  8. …there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED! Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World.

Huh?? Should have followed the K.I.S.S. principle.

God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!

    Cue “Kumbaya.”

BTW, Tehran official time is 30 minutes later than Jerusalem time.

  9. Lurch is as usual, absolutely wrong. They are not only killing the people that know how to this, they have destroyed the records, archives and computer backups. Their institutional knowledge is wafting away on the winds.

  10. Some people express their grief by retaining a fierce, eerily silent stoicism.

Others by reciting psalms and prayers.

Still others by jumping about in a rage, flailing their arms, keening publicly and mutilating their bodies.

And then there are those who express their grief by mouthing earnest, virtuous and heartfelt if nonsensical platitudes on CNN…

  11. I agree with Mitchell Strand – this is all misdirection. Also calming some MAGA types who don’t want foreign entanglements. The spat between Israel and the White House is also intended to confound the Tucker Carlson Folksong Army and its anti semitic concern trolling.

The tone of the original ceasefire announcement was almost gushing… none of the dispassionate, businesslike tone DJT has used in other situations.

A polka usually consists of three melodies that lead into each other.
Trump-n-Yahu are moving from the first roundelay of the actual attacks, into the second tune – giving Israel time to clean things up without the ritual international denunciations…. the third will, in fact, be regime change – I mean, “accepting the will of the Persian people”….

Watch Erdogan… so far his response is limited to the expected formalities. Significant chunks of the Turkish population want to return to Ataturk’s modernizing reforms – call it “Back to the Future” mideast style.

So Trump has engaged the Saudis in the Abraham Accords, has neutralized the widely despised Iranians, and has boxed in Erdogan. While pursuing “Drill Baby Drill” energy independence. Who still thinks he’s a buffoon?

  12. The buffoons in both parties, the MSM and the morons in the protests are the only ones who think Trump is a buffoon.

The Dems and MSM are the dumbest by far. The protesters are just deranged, and brain damaged by drugs.
