  1. So young Soros is marrying a menopausal Muslim moneyhound. How very sweet.

  2. Not nice digs. Soulless, just like the groom’s father.
    ==
    A marriage of malevolence.

  3. Don’t recognize most of these people. Soros and Hillaryminion have the most unappealing residence by far.
    ==
Gloria Steinem is now past 90. She looks younger than that, of course, but fragile. Her sister died in 2008 and her brother-in-law in 2013. She was listed as a survivor in the first obituary, but not the second. Somewhat flummoxed that the man’s children excluded her unless (perhaps) their father so requested. It would be agreeable if someone among the man’s children was looking in on her with apposite frequency and on call as necessary.

  4. I had seen this mentioned elsewhere in the past and noted that the good news is that it is unlikely that Ms Abedin will produce any further members for the Soros clan. A genetic dead end, think of it as evolution in action.

  5. The aristocracy marrying the aristocracy. The very image of the modern Western ruling elite.

  6. Their hubris and arrogance prevents them from realizing that wealth and political connections cannot compensate for an inner emptiness of the soul.

  7. Those rooms are a bit out of my price range. When I travel I don:t stay in a Motel 6, but rather a motel 5 or maybe a motel 4.

  8. But remember!’ NEVER FORGET:

The Democratic Party is the party of the working man!! (I was going to add “woman” but the Democrats are too sophisticated, virtuous and intellectually honest to know what that is…)

  9. Will surely announce in the NY Times engagements page, which Charles Murray refers to as the mergers and acquisitions page.

  10. Nice view, but the drab olive green tones (clothing and furniture) are not doing either of them any favors.

  11. I think it would be more accurate to call this a merger of professionals, but not a marriage. What core values do they share, one wonders. It’s more an alignment of shared interests, objectives, goals – a way to navigate changing society while preserving their perceived power and authority.

I wonder what old Anthony is up to, these days.

  12. It is a strange photo, reminding me somewhat of the work of Arbus crossed with a Goya portrait.

  13. Why these claims of Soros’ generational decline? I thought a 49 year old woman had perhaps another 60 months or so of potentially productive ovulation. And perhaps they have stored their respective gamete cells for in vivo fertilization, etc.???

@ jvermeer: I was thinking about Charles Murray’s concepts of Fishtown and Belmont, and wondering just where their residence situation fit in above even Belmont? Oligarchia?
Or do the Clinton’s have something on Soros? Maybe an unfavorable Epstein connection?

  14. He’s all skin and bones, no muscle. Look at how his legs are crossed, which is typical for women but rare and hard to do for men. (Obama does the same with his legs). If I remember correctly, Huma was Hillary’s roommate on their trips during Billy boy’s time in office, and shut up and don’t ask. Could be a repeat here.

  15. Clicking through to the entire photospread, I got an enormous blast of New Yawk nostalgia. If my life had not taken another direction this was the class of people I was destined to belong to…. I was born into a New York liberal Jewish family and spent part of my uni days at Columbia… the feature itself, the photography, the layout, and the choice of subjects all reflect a vibe established in my youth by Warhol’s magazine “Interview” , the similar “Paper Mag”, and by New York Magazine.

Although the New Yorker in me loved familiar touches like the parquet floors and moldings in the older apartments, and the loft esthetic of the modern spaces – the nostalgia was combined with a sense that I had dodged a bullet. I am much happier that my life has taken me out of this orbit, despite its creative energy.

  16. A “practicing Muslim” woman cannot marry a non-Muslim man. Either Soros has converted to Islam, at least for the record, or Abedin isn’t actually a “practicing Muslim.” Same thing applies to Ilhan Omar’s second husband. In Omar’s case, she publicly defends Islam from criticism, but whether she is compliant with her marriage is unknown (as far as I know).

We knew of a couple of cases, in Cairo, in which a non-Muslim European man had to go downtown to register as Muslim before marrying an Egyptian Muslim woman.

  17. If the rumors are to be believed, young Soros is gay, or at least bi. His photograph does nothing to dispel those rumors. The overall vibe from the photograph, as well as the rest of them in the original article/photo spread, featuring other similarly situated lizard people in The New Yorker is equally creepy and repellent.

  18. The Digs: Cold and sterile. No heart.

The view: I guess you could call that nice if you like looking at a cauldron of humanity and massive constructed monstrosities. I’d prefer a view overlooking a lake or a mountainside personally. Heck, I’d prefer the view I grew up with…miles and miles of seemingly never-ending corn fields.

  19. Look at how his legs are crossed, which is typical for women but rare and hard to do for men.

In which strange place do you live?

  20. Men’s narrow hips make sitting that way awkward. It’s a woman’s way of sitting.

Between 45 and 55 with 51 typical based on my google search. So if she’s typical she has less than 24 months. But it tends to happen sooner in women who don’t normally have intercourse, and I suspect she’s in that cohort.

  22. Kate, I suspect Islam is OK with Muslim women in power breaking the rules to further political goals.

  23. As for Soros’ leg-crossing it’s about joint flexibility. I couldn’t get my leg to hang down vertically like that without breaking it.

  24. He can cross or double-cross his legs whichever way he wants.

THIS is the Soros (et al.) problem:

    “May 6: Astroturfing MAGA”—
    https://thedailyscroll.substack.com/p/may-6-astroturfing-maga
    H/T Instapundit.
    Opening grafs:

In their 2006 book The Shadow Party, David Horowitz and Richard Poe penned the following insight on the structure of astroturfed revolutions:

In a 1957 tract, Czech Communist Party theoretician Jan Kozák explained how a small number of communists managed to gain power in Czechoslovakia through parliamentary maneuvers. The trick was to exert pressure for radical change from two directions simultaneously—from the upper levels of government and from provocateurs in the streets. Kozák called this tactic “pressure from above and below.”

One way to exert “pressure from below,” as Kozák explained, was to fill the streets with rioters, strikers and protesters, thus creating the illusion of a widespread clamor for change from the grassroots. Radicals in the government would then exert “pressure from above,” enacting new laws on the pretext of appeasing the protesters in the street—even though the protesters (or at least their leaders) were themselves part of the plot. The majority of the people would have no idea what was going on. Squeezed from “above” and “below,” most would sink into apathy and despair, believing they were hopelessly outnumbered by the radicals—even though they were not. Thus could a radical minority impose its will on a moderate majority, even under a democratic, parliamentary system.

The purpose of that book was to expose the close relationship between Democratic financier George Soros—and his army of lavishly funded radicals—and the camp of Hillary Clinton, whom the authors expected to win the presidency in 2008.….

I keep hearing echoes of Gilbert and Sullivan.

This performance includes Kevin Kline as the Pirate King and Linda Ronstadt as Mabel (opposite the guy in the salmon-colored shirt). Both won awards for “Pirates”.

I miss that world where most people knew at least a little Gilbert and Sullivan. I miss Ronstadt’s voice in her prime too.

    Halcyon days.

  26. ”Kozak called this tactic ‘pressure from above and below.’”

Glenn Beck describes this tactic as “bottom up, top down, inside out.”

Many conservatives excuse business leaders and college administrators who implement the leftist agenda as weak-minded fools blinded by a small number of leftist agitators. Instead they are leftist agents working with the agitators to willingly implement that agenda.

  28. huxley: I would enjoy a riff upon the photo of Alex Soros, investor, and Huma Abedin, political consultant, NoHo from

    https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2025/05/12/power-houses

in the style of Gilbert and Sullivan with the title of “We are the very image of a modern NoHo power couple.”

ChatGPT 4.o: We are the very image of a modern NoHo power couple,
Our network’s always active and our assets are quadruple,
We dine with all the glitterati, tweet with erudition,
We craft our brand with caution and conduct our life’s audition.

I’m Alex with my ventures vast, my funding never hollow,
While Huma’s built a Rolodex that’s daunting to follow.
We navigate the algorithms, social influence we juggle,
We’re always just a step ahead in every power struggle.

    (Chorus)
Yes, we are the very image of a modern NoHo power pair,
We mingle with the mighty, while we cultivate a charming air,
We’re visionaries, strategists, the movers and the shakers,
We’re gatekeepers of access for the dealmakers and takers.

    “Neurodiversity Is A Strawman“—
    https://www.zerohedge.com/medical/neurodiversity-strawman
    Key grafs:

…The media machinery has conflated mild spectrum disorder with what I just described above specifically so that people will have the reaction they are having right now. This is normalization of extremes by conflating them with non-extremes so that it’s a step-by-step incremental (and coordinated) attack on those who would expose the root cause of the terrible suffering experienced by so many.

It’s executed so that people like RFK, Jr. are hobbled from doing their job….

    [Emphasis in original; Barry M.]

  30. @ huxley – “in the style of Gilbert and Sullivan with the title of “We are the very image of a modern NoHo power couple.”

Good start, but needs a little editing to make it singable.
    That was Gilbert’s less-celebrated genius.

(I almost wrote “unsung genius” but repented.)
