Kevin McCarthy has opened a formal impeachment inquiry against Biden
The speaker said House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., will lead the inquiry in coordination with House Oversight Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Ways & Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo.
McCarthy spoke for only roughly three minutes and did not take questions from reporters. ,,,
He listed allegations of “abuse of power, obstruction and corruption” made against Biden by several GOP-led committees who have been investigating the president.
“Through our investigations, we have found that President Biden did lie to the American people about his own knowledge of his family’s foreign business dealings. Eyewitnesses have testified that the president joined on multiple phone calls and had multiple interactions, dinners resulted in cars and millions of dollars into his sons and his son’s business partners,” McCarthy said.
“We know that bank records show that nearly $20 million in payments were directed to the Biden family members and associates through various Shell companies.
I strongly believe that Biden is guilty of old-fashioned corruption. These are not manufactured charges based on novel legal theories. But of course, there is no chance that Biden will be convicted in the Senate. Instead, the goal of these hearings will be to get the facts in front of the American people. But that endeavor will be hampered by the MSM, which will frame the whole thing as “Republicans pounce on poor innocent old good guy Joe and his lovable-but-flawed-and-now-reformed son.”
The only thing that would get the MSM and the Democrats to admit Joe’s corruption would be if they decided they wanted to be rid of him and they can’t figure out another way to do it. But I do not predict that will happen.
Rep. Scott Perry reacts to the predictable MSM narrative which says the Republicans’ impeachment inquiry is about “political revenge,” not evidence of Biden corruption:
“You can see that the homes that the Bidens own can’t be afforded on a congressional or Senate salary. These things are not normal and it alludes to not only just widespread corruption, but money laundering, if not influence peddling itself.”

Absolutely. I used to think this would be a waste of time, but I now believe it the best way to get SOME of the facts before the public. It will help that no one really likes FJB.
I continue to think the one thing that would really help would be if Biden cannot finish out his term. That would make Kamala The Historic First Woman President (and a woman of color at that.) It’d be hard to budge here without all out war in their party. I’ve seen suggestions that she could be bought off. With what? One suggestion was the Senate, but she already had that.
I do think that Newsome was being cleverly coy, in continuing to declare his undying support for Biden. It’s the strongest possible position to take until the last minute, posing as reluctant. Et tu, Gavin?
Some of the GOP is saying that this is just a maneuver by McCarthy to avoid holding a strong line on the budget resolution coming up.

Jackie flatly says Trump is a crook, House Republicans are rabid dogs, and Biden is as honest as the day as long, but was stupid to “allow his calls to be played on speakerphone” to business associates of Hunter’s. Right.
This is as slick a con-job as you’re ever likely to see. Everything based on her opinion is praiseful of Biden and hateful of Trump. Everything remotely connected to fact is cloyingly anodyne. And the two are smoothly blended together to let the loyal Democrat conclude that good ole Joe is just a bumbler in this case, driven by love.

We live in a dystopian nightmare. the prequel to Orwells 1984. If you read comments on twitter, Biden is Gods gift to us, and really cares. Delusional?, no, such feelings exist because they are programmed that way. Party apparatchiks are always loyal, until they are told not to be.
People don’t know history anymore, so they don’t understand how Stalin, Hitler, Mao et al used people for power. They especially don’t know the history of what happens to people who support the regime, but then are deemed ‘wrongthink’.
Nothing will come of all this. McCarthy is trying to hang onto power, and distracting people is a tactic that works well.

If there were the most scathing, condemning evidence introduced for the Senate impeachment trial, like murder, not ten of the fifty Democrats would break from the party line, and it takes at least 60 Senate votes as a minimum to remove the maximally corrupt, evil Biden from the presidential office.

Well there’s always plan b. Put Biden out to pasture for ‘health reasons’. Install Harris, with Newsom appointed as the new VP. At the appropriate time, an arranged assassination of Harris by of course, a ‘white supremacist’. As from the left’s narrative, nothing would be ‘better’ for race relations than the first woman Pres. of Color to be murdered by a white supremacist.
There is no tactic too depraved that the left will not justify.

Personally, I don’t give a damn about judicially punishing Biden, but I want to see his crimes fully exposed and his enablers prosecuted.

McCarthy knows he won’t get a conviction by the Senate, but if Biden’s aliased emails come out, Joe would have to resign. If the documents are destroyed or partially destroyed or if release is blocked by the courts, Joe will still be in trouble. I suspect somebody on the team is working on possible exit strategies, even now, as others are fighting the impeachment. Biden has managed to live with these scandals for 4 years now, thanks to a servile media, but if he goes, that makes it even more necessary for the Democrats to put Trump behind bars sooner, rather than later, if they want to remain in power.

People call McCarthy a RINO or a wimp, but it occured to me that if he had spent the last few years saying all the things we now know to be true about the FBI, the CIA, Homeland Security, the CDC, the WHO, COVID, Fauci, Ivermectin, Soros, election fraud, immigration, and everything else, he wouldn’t have survived as Majority Leader. He’d have been labeled a nut, a wild man, and a Russian agent, and his support in the House would have trickled away. People didn’t want to believe the worst about their government and the media discouraged such skepticism. To get and hold high office, one has to be circumspect, and one can’t say all the things one can say anonymously on the internet.
This morning over a Townhall and interesting exchange between a reporter and a GOP rep. Basically the MSM is going to take the line expected line of “no real evidence, and just for political reasons”. As long as the majority of the public hear that, nothing is going to change.

I think on the whole this is a good development. The mainstream media will certainly run all the cover they absolutely can for Biden, but they won’t be able to completely ignore the story. They’ll have to actually report on some of the allegations and evidence that will be presented and discussed. Of course they’ll do everything in their power to frame it as either false or, failing that, just no big deal. But they can no longer simply ignore it. They can only downplay or equivocate. This will have a net effect on low information swing voter’s mindsets going in to the election year.
meh. I’m on the fence about whether there’s any point to this. Why take out this guy and allow the Dems the opportunity to replace him with someone whose failures are less publicized and can pretend to stand for different policies while continuing to debase and discriminate against Americans? McCarthy is not a wartime consigliere and this is war. The only up-side is the ability to use subpoena power but without accountability for evasion (by Dems, that is) that’s useless. Biden is clearly corrupt and unfit for office and that can be brought out on the campaign trail. The only winners here are the cable tv channels and the rest of the establishment that likes to continue the fiction of accountability.
